Diversity Chairman Resigns After Struggling with Diversity

Diversity remains a challenge for liberals. For all of the rhetoric on tolerance, they just dont seem very accepting of those points of view that fall out of step with virulent, screaming, leftism.

Trumpic

The Daily Caller is reporting that Grayson Lanza, the newly-appointed coordinator of diversity and outreach at the University of Central Florida, has now lost his job after it was revealed he publicly declared, by way of a Facebook post last October, that supporters of Donald Trump were not welcome on UCFs campus.

Well, THAT sure doesnt sound very egalitarianespecially for a progressive.

Back in October, supporters of Trump gathered at the campuss free speech lawn, a place set aside at the school for groups to publicly express on behalf of their chosen agendas. According to Trump backer Daniel Hanna, Lanza ranted at the gathered, using words like sexist and racist. Afterwards, Grayson appeared to gloat on Facebook about his harassment of the Trumpers:

And let today be a lesson to all, he wrote. Trump supporters are not welcome on our campus.

Lanza had just become the student governments diversity and outreach coordinator in June, but when someone put two and two together, and realized Mr. Diversity was the same fellow who breathlessly went after Trump supporters on the schools own, self-proclaimed free speech lawn, well, it made for a bad look.

And now hes gone.

In announcing Lanzas departure from his new position, Nick Larkins, student government president, said, Grayson is aware that as the diversity and outreach coordinator, he represents all students regardless of political affiliation.

A diplomatic thing to say, but, no, no he doesnt.

Majority of Americans Views Black Lives Matter Unfavorably, But

As reported by The Hill, results of a recent Harvard-Harris Survey found that a majority of Americans hold an unfavorable opinion of Black Lives Matter, but that views of the controversial group are sharply divided along racial lines.

Blacklives

The overall numbers indicate that 57 percent of voters see BLM negatively, while just 43 percent look at BLM in a positive light. For those hoping their fellow Americans might have as jaundiced an opinion of BLM as they have, this might seem like welcoming news, at first glance.

Unfortunately, a deeper examination reveals the numbers arent quite what they seem, and that theres a disturbing split between blacks and whites on the subject of Black Lives Matter.

Broken down by race, the numbers show that whites, overall, take a particularly dim view of BLM, while blacks seem to roundly approve of the group. According to the poll, just 35 percent of whites look on BLM favorably, while a resounding 83 percent of blacks have a favorable view.

The public is sympathetic to the problem of police using too much force but overall are unsympathetic to the Black Lives Matter movement, said Mark Penn, co-director of Harvard-Harris. As you might expect, white voters are sharply negative to the group while African-Americans give them positive ratings.

As for the matter of perceived fairness of the criminal justice system, overall, the survey results reflect a split right down the middle: 50 percent of voters believe it is unfair to minorities, and 50 percent believe it is fair.

Again, though, looking at the numbers through the lens of race, 85 percent of black voters say theres bias in the criminal justice system, while 60 percent of whites say they system is fair to people of color.

And so it goes.

Rosie ODonnell: Women Should Form Own Party If Democrats Support Pro-Life Candidates

Once again, high-profile Democrats demonstrate how and why theyre so out of touch with the heart and soul of America.

2017-08-03_14-59-11

As you may have heard, there is more than a bit of infighting taking place inside the party these days when it comes to the matter of supporting pro-life Democratic candidates.

Not long ago, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez declared that all Democratic Party candidates everywhere should be pro-choice, saying, Every Democrat, like every American, should support a womans right to make her own choices about her body and her health. That is not negotiable and should not change city by city or state by state.

Perez has been hearing it from other Dems on the subject who in no way agree with his position. Just this past Monday, Ben Ray Lujn, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said, There is not a litmus test for Democratic candidates. As we look at candidates across the country, you need to make sure you have candidates that fit the district, that can win in these districts across America.

And actress Rosie ODonnells response to Mondays announcement by Lujn? A tweet, noted by The Daily Caller, that referred to Lujns statement and read, WOMAN SHOULD FORM OUR OWN PARTY IF DEMS DO THIS.

Perhaps before tweeting, ODonnell should have paid some heed to a June Gallup Poll that found 49 percent of women believe abortion to be morally wrong, even as some of those believe it should remain legal.

In other words, if ODonnell thinks she speaks for all women on the matter of abortion, or that all women are in lockstep on supporting so-called pro-choice positions, shes clearly not paying attention.

Former NFL Player Says Leagues Brand is Now Anti-Americanism and Thuggery

Burgess Owens may be both a former National Football League player and African-American, but he makes it clear that the climate of race-centric social justice warrior-ism now pervasive throughout much of the league - and most famously personified by quarterback Colin Kaepernick - is not one in which he easily breathes.

2017-08-03_14-39-17

Appearing Sunday on Fox News Channels Fox & Friends program, Owens said flatly that while the league used to be known for its patriotism and its character, it is has now, regrettably, opted to cultivate a brand of anti-Americanism and thuggery.

We're fighting against an agenda of liberalism, socialism, and Marxism, said Owens, who enjoyed a 10-year career in the NFL playing safety for both the New York Jets and the Oakland Raiders.

Referring to the results of a recent J.D. Power poll that indicate the national anthem protests by NFL players was the biggest reason fans changed the channel on the league last season, Owens said, Im not surprised at all.

Owens went on to suggest that the protests are indicative of how Black America is manipulated by the American Left for its own purposes.

We have these young people now that are reeling, explained Owens. Every single election cycle they [politicians] get them the anti-American sentiment, anti-flag, anti-police, anti-white, and its all to do one thing: get white and black socialist liberal elitists elected.

This is CNN: Trump Going After Vicious MS-13 Gang to Make White Nationalists Happy

Is CNN presently the worst television network in the world?

2017-08-02_11-42-54

Last Friday, while speaking in Brentwood, New York, President Trump said he would restore safety to our streets and peace to our communities and destroy the vile criminal cartel MS-13 and many other gangs.

The president also announced that from now on, were going to enforce our laws, protect our borders, and support our police like our police have never been supported before.

Pretty reasonable, right?

Not according to CNNs supposedly Republican talking head, Margaret Hoover. Hoover apparently heard something much more insidious in Trumps words. As reported by the Independent Journal Review, Hoover thinks that Trumps declaration hes going to crack down on MS-13 is a direct appeal to his white nationalist base.

In other words, if you want to rid the country of the hyper-dangerous MS-13, youre a racist.
Seriously.

Hoover, in her own words:

But there is a political move here to highlight people who arent white, I think minorities, and to feed part of this really white nationalist, political support of Donald Trump. And if this overstates, I think, what the real problem is, we have violent crimes and criminal gangs here in the United States as well full of white people This really wasnt a law and order speech in that sense. This really had a political undertone.

Man Marries His Laptop Computer, Sues for State Recognition of Union

Well, you knew something like this was coming.

And here it is.

2017-08-02_11-29-24

The Washington Times is reporting that a man has married his laptop computer in a New Mexico ceremony, and is now suing Utah in an effort to force that state to recognize his union with the device.

And thats not all for which he is suing.

The gentleman in question, Chris Sevier, is also suing to force a Colorado baker to make a wedding cake for him and his computer bride. Oh, and the baker hes suing is the same one whos right now embroiled in another legal dispute related to his refusal to bake a cake on behalf of a same-sex wedding. Sevier is joined in his lawsuit by three polygamists.

Of course he is.

If marriage based on self-asserted sex-based identity narratives is a fundamental right, individual right, existing right, based on a personal choice for homosexuals, then clearly it is also a fundamental right, individual right, existing right, based on a personal choice for polygamists, zoophiles and machinists, Mr. Sevier declares in his lawsuit against Masterpiece Cakeshop baker

Jack Phillips.

Zoophiles? Machinists?

Laugh if you want, but a judge in Utah is permitting a portion of that lawsuit to move forward. Moreover, according to the Times, analysts admit that the claims made by Sevier get to the heart of what, if any, limits apply to nontraditional marriages.

Gallup: Nearly 1 in 5 Americans Now Say Polygamy is Morally Acceptable

The times, they are indeed a-changin.

2017-08-01_14-38-26

Increasingly progressive narratives, artfully transmitted through the so-called mainstream media and Americas public school systems, continue to exert unfortunate influence on the moral and ethical underpinnings of the population. Another case in point: As reported by MRCTV, results of a new Gallup Poll are out that detail nearly 20 percent of Americans view polygamy as being morally acceptable.

The exact number, 17 percent, is the highest recorded since Gallup started asking the question 14 years ago.

Revealingly, those Americans who self-identify as being non-religious are much more supportive of polygamy than those who adhere to faith-centered belief systems. According to Gallup, [b]etween 2011 and 2017, 32 percent of Americans who do not associate with a particular religion or have no religion at all said polygamy was morally acceptable. However, just nine percent of Protestants, 10 percent of Catholics, and 12 percent of Mormons see having multiple spouses as being an acceptable lifestyle choice.

Gallup seems to further hit the nail on the head with its assessment that greater approval of polygamy is a function of a larger change in the moral landscape of the nation: Moral perceptions have significantly, fundamentally changed on a number of social issues or behaviorsmost notably, gay/lesbian relations, having a baby outside of wedlock, sex between unmarried men and women, and divorce.

Report: Americans Spending MORE After They Retire

Well, this is probably some news worth knowing.

2017-08-01_14-31-27

CNN Money is reporting that, according to data analyzed by economists at the Investment Company Institute and the IRS, Americans are actually spending more money after they retireat least, for the first few years.

It turns out that spending went up for over half of all taxpayers during the first three years after they claimed Social Security, with lower-income earners the most likely to spend more than they did before retiring.

According to the researchers, For many individuals, retirement appears to be a multi-year transition rather than an action taken at a discrete point in time.

In other words, retirees likely need some time to get the hang of living within their means.

Because the data measured did not pertain to spending, per se, but, rather, to how much income including Social Security benefits - remained after taxes, it is unclear on what, specifically, retirees are spending their money in greater sums.

While many expenses tend to drop once a person retires, including taxes, costs associated with transportation, and those related to housing, others logically go up, like the amounts spent on leisure and recreation, including vacations.

The results of the research emphasize the importance of being able to generate a reasonably significant income during at least the first several years of what is ostensibly retirement. This may mean that individuals are well-served to keep working for years after beginning to draw Social Security; or, as younger adults, to dedicate themselves to setting aside as much as possible in tax-deferred retirement accounts invested largely in equities so that their savings, once they do stop working, is capable of generating a significant, monthly income.
