Former Green Beret Smacks Leftists in Heartfelt Post that Goes Viral
Dr. Mike Simpson, M.D., a renowned veteran of U.S. Army Special Forces as well as a doctor of emergency medicine, recently decided hed had enough of the way the incident in Niger, in which four American soldiers were killed during an ambush by Islamic State militants, is being used by many on the left most notably Congresswoman Frederica Wilson to assail President Trump.
As the website Breitbart noted, Simpson, a popular follow on Twitter, used his platform on the social media outlet to write an open, come to Jesus sort of letter to liberals in which he calls them out for trying to co-opt the military and veterans in an effort to make their progressive agenda seem more credibleeven patriotic.
Simpsons missive is a thing of beauty. Heres one compelling chunk of it:
2) We are overwhelmingly republican, so stop trying to turn us into talking points or props for your agenda, which we do not agree with.
3) To expound on number 2 above, the closer you get to the tip of the spear, the more right-leaning we become. So, that former supply sergeant who you turn to as a Liberal veteran is not a good representative of our ranks. Basically, everyone who is continually putting themselves in harms way is the polar opposite of you when it comes to core beliefs. Show me a card carrying liberal democrat in special operations, and Ill show you what is either a case of stolen valor, or the guy everyone else hates, and weve probably thrown his shit out into the hallway.
Yeah, basically.
The fact is, liberals seem to be working harder than ever nowadays to take ownership of patriotism, the military, and other American institutions reflective of what many see as the best in traditional American values. Theyve never really done a good job of it, because its always been so obvious that what they believe in, the values they prize, are anathema to what those institutions symbolize.
Nevertheless, they keep trying. But theyre not fooling anyone.
Least of all Dr. Mike Simpson, M.D.

Rumors of Vampire Attacks Prompt Utter Chaos, Rioting in Mozambique
OK, well, this isnt weird or anything.
According to news reports, including one from IOL.co.za, it appears that absolute panic now rules the day in the Mozambique town of Gile, where local residents are convinced that there are actual blood-sucking vampires in their midst.
Not vampire bats; vampires.
Last week, in response to the rumors of vampires, which have been circulating for months now, a mob attacked a business owner in the locality of Muiane who had been accused of being a vampire. Not only was the man attacked and his shop looted, but the homes of both the head of the Muiane administrative post and local secretary of the ruling Frelimo Party were vandalized.
Conditions have apparently deteriorated even further, with local police in the town of Gile saying that utter chaos has taken hold there.
As if all this wasnt bizarre enough, the predominant narrative in the area claims that the supposed vampires are actually in cahoots with local government officials to drink the blood of the townspeople. The rioting in Gile has been so severe that the district administrator there fled and is now reportedly in hiding.
According to a spokesperson for the provincial police, whats really behind all of the madness is an orchestrated attempt by an area criminal element to play on the fears of locals in order to steal their property. The spokesperson, Miguel Caetano, said Monday that five people were arrested in Muiane on charges of spreading vampire rumors and inciting disorder, and that police had recovered a variety of merchandise including five motorcycles stolen during the rioting.

Trump Says No to Plan Limiting 401(k) Contributions to Pay for Tax Cuts
Youve surely heard that tax reform is in the wings. But did you know that some in Congress are kicking around the idea of drastically changing 401(k) contribution limits in order to help pay for it?
An idea floated by House Republicans to help pay for President Trumps proposed tax cuts is to limit by a lot the amount of pre-tax money that workers can annually contribute to their 401(k) plans. Under present rules, those younger than age 50 can contribute up to $18,000 per year to the plan, while workers 50 and older can set aside as much as $24,000. The proposed limit is just a fraction of those amounts a measly $2,400.
As reported by the Chicago Tribune, Donald Trump, for his part, announced that no such changes would be forthcoming under his watch, tweeting, There will be NO change to your 401(k). This has always been a great and popular middle class tax break that works, and it stays!
However, despite that optimistic declaration, Republicans in the House of Representatives are quietly forging ahead in finding ways to pay for tax cutsand leaving all options on the table, including the possibility of a significant restructuring of the 401(k) plan. When asked about whether such an ostensibly sacred cow might actually be sacrificed, Ways and Means Chair Rep. Kevin Brady replied, I dont want to get ahead of the committee. That will all be part of the tax reform bill.
And when he was additionally asked if the presidents pro-401(k) tweet means the proposed cut to the annual contribution limit was now off the table, Brady flatly responded, No.
Stay tuned.

University Sponsors Workshop on How Not to Be Offensive in Selecting a Halloween Costume
The students at the University of Southern Indiana had the opportunity last week to participate in an important workshop on campus.
The presentation did not, however, have anything to do with methods by which to settle global conflict, how to enhance the stature of developing nations on the world economic stage, or anything like that.
The workshop, called Culture not Costumes, was instead designed to tackle the enormous problem of cultural insensitivity in the selection of Halloween costumes.
According to The College Fix, the workshop addressed the hazards of cultural appropriation, which is defined in a workshop handout as the taking of intellectual property, knowledge, and cultural expression from someone elses culture without permission.
Hosted by the Universitys Housing and Residence Lifewhich means it was an official university eventthe workshop activities included handing out to the assembled what were essentially practice Halloween costumes, as well as instructions as to how to create a costume that is not insensitive. Per some of the information provided to attendees, superheroes, ghosts, and cats are acceptable costumes, while sexy Indian princesses are not.
Even better, according to the Fix, was the inclusion in one of the handouts of a helpful flowchart that students could use to select a costume. As with other such flowcharts, whenever a student would make a wrong choice in the costume selection process, the diagram would instruct them to go back and start at the beginning.

Former VP Biden No Fan of Leftists Who Suppress Campus Speech
Even some Democrats who might not make it on a Republican voters list of favorite politicians seem irritated at campus leftists working hard to prevent the free expression of ideas in the very venues where most believe the sharing of such ideas should be most welcome.
Take former Vice President Joe Biden, for example. According to a report over at Reason.com, Biden revealed his own frustration with the efforts to suppress free speech on university campuses during a recent appearance he made at the University of Delaware with Governor John Kasich. When asked how people might be encouraged to be more accepting of opposing viewpoints, Biden answered this way:
It's interesting, Biden replied, When I was coming up through college and graduate school, free speech was the big issue but it was the opposite. It was liberals who were shouted down when they spoke. And liberals have very short memories. I mean that sincerely.
You should be able to listen to another point of view, as virulent as it may be, and reject it, expose it, he added. The best thing to do is let this stuff be exposed. Dont be like these other people. Dont give the Trumps of the world the ability to compare you to the Nazis or you to the racists because youre doing the same thing. Youre silencing.

What Secrets Will Be Revealed When The JFK Files Are Released?
Jim discusses the significance of the upcoming release of the classified JFK files. The Las Vegas shooting: After three weeks of looking into the finances, Internet activity, cell phone accounts, and associates of Stephen Paddock, why are the authorities keeping us in the dark? There are no press conferences scheduled and the mainstream media has completely dropped the story.
JFK Files Release: Former Girlfriend Of Lee Harvey Oswald Weighs In
With the announcement that President Trump will allow the release of the classified JFK files, Judyth Vary Baker weighs in on what she expects. Although Baker does not expect any major revelations in the coming document dump, the most important documents she would like to see released are the tax returns of Lee Harvey Oswald. Baker believes that Oswald's tax returns would provide proof that he was a government asset. She also shares her firsthand account of seeing Rafael Cruz (father of Ted Cruz) working with Lee Harvey Oswald in New Orleans. She believes that Cruz's assistance to Oswald proves that they were both government operatives. Lastly, she shares her thoughts on the strange similarities between the JFK assassination 'script' and the present day Las Vegas massacre.
FBI: Be Alert to Virtual Kidnapping Scam
Courtesy of the FBIs website, we now know of another scam for which Americans need to be on the lookoutbecause bad guys never seem to tire of finding ways to separate us from our hard-earned dollars. Virtual kidnapping has arrived to terrorize and defraud innocent citizens.
As with many other scams popular nowadays, the most important mechanism to perpetrating the crime is the telephone. And as with other telephone scams, virtual kidnapping involves leveraging victims into forking over money by way of extortion.
Heres basically how it works: A victim receives a random phone call and hears a woman screaming, and asking if Susan, for example, is OK. Then a male voice comes on the line and informs the call recipient that if they dont pay a ransom to free Susan, she will be killed. Of course, Susan has not actually been kidnapped, and many families may not even have someone named Susan as a member.
However, as FBI Los Angeles Special Agent Erik Arbuthnot says, while the fraud does not succeed terribly often, when youre making hundreds of calls, the crime will eventually work. Many of the calls are traced back to Mexican prisons.
Here is a good overview of the crime, and watch to watch for, straight from FBI.gov:
The success of any type of virtual kidnapping scheme depends on speed and fear. Criminals know they only have a short time to exact a ransom before the victims unravel the scam or authorities become involved. To avoid becoming a victim, look for these possible indicators:
Callers go to great lengths to keep you on the phone, insisting you remain on the line.
Calls do not come from the supposed victims phone.
Callers try to prevent you from contacting the kidnapped victim.
Calls include demands for ransom money to be paid via wire transfer to Mexico; ransom amount demands may drop quickly.
If you receive a phone call from someone demanding a ransom for an alleged kidnap victim, the following should be considered:
In most cases, the best course of action is to hang up the phone.
If you do engage the caller, dont call out your loved ones name.
Try to slow the situation down. Request to speak to your family member directly. Ask, How do I know my loved one is okay?
Ask questions only the alleged kidnap victim would know, such as the name of a pet. Avoid sharing information about yourself or your family.
Listen carefully to the voice of the alleged victim if they speak.
Attempt to contact the alleged victim via phone, text, or social media, and request that they call back from their cell phone.
To buy time, repeat the callers request and tell them you are writing down the demand, or tell the caller you need time to get things moving.
Dont agree to pay a ransom, by wire or in person. Delivering money in person can be dangerous.
If you suspect a real kidnapping is taking place or you believe a ransom demand is a scheme, contact your nearest FBI office or local law enforcement immediately. Tips to the FBI can also be submitted online at tips.fbi.gov. All tipsters may remain anonymous.

California Public Library Hosts Childrens Story Hour with Drag Queen Dressed as Demon
That wacky California.
Its not nearly bizarre enough, apparently, to criminalize wrong gender pronoun use, while lessening the penalty for knowingly transmitting HIV.
There must be even MORE madness in the Golden State.
How about this?
Recently, at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library (because in California, the jokes write themselves, folks), childrens story hour became Drag Queen Story Hour, in honor of LGBT history month. And so a drag queen recently read to the kiddies.
But thats not all. The drag queen, Xochi Mochi, was dressed as a five-horned demon while he/she/it/they was in front of the children.
The Christian Post reports that the library, in what turned out to be a bit of misjudgment on its part, decided to send out a picture of the drag queen demon reading to the tots, but removed the image once the pic went viral and a public backlash ensued.
According to the Post, Omar Navarro, a Republican contestant for Maxine Waters congressional seat, mused to CBS Los Angeles, What are we teaching kids in school? Demonic teachings alive in Long Beach. Im outraged they would allow this.
However, the broad, public response to the event was hardly all negative, with one commenter posting to Mochis Instagram account, Thank you so much for coming to the library, reading to kids and being MARVELOUS! as well as Im sorry you're getting hatred. Id give you a great big hug if I could.
Welcome to California.
