Trump Scores Big in Alabama

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large

GOP presidential candidate and current frontrunner Donald Trump proved to be a big hit on Friday night in a rally at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. Estimates put the size of the crowd at between 20,000 and 30,000 people.

2015-08-22_6-02-18

Among the politicians welcoming Trump to Mobile was Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), who briefly spoke admiringly of the Donald and even went as far as to don one of Trumps signature Make America Great Again hats. Was Sessions telegraphing a future endorsement of Trump, perhaps?

Trumps no-nonsense demeanor and unguarded way of speaking continues to win him adherents; many at the Friday rally who were interviewed by various news outlets cited his bull in a china shop routine as a big part of why they find themselves so attracted to him. As a matter of fact, Trump addressed a poll that says hes behind the field in likability, saying to the faithful on Friday, This is not going to be an election based on being a nice person. It is based on being a competent person.

Candidate Trump touched on several hot-button topics in his speech, to include free trade, the repeal of Obamacare, and the need to rebuild Americas military. However, the loudest cheers seemed to come whenever he touched on the issue that has singularly thrust him to the forefront in this race illegal immigration; Trump again pounded the issue of building a wall on the southern border, and took exception with the anchor baby provision of current U.S. law.

We are still early in this chase for the White House, but, so far, the Trump Train continues to gain speed. Where will it go from here? Only time will tell, but, for now, it remains very much on track.

Website Offers Coupon Code Worth Hundreds

There was a time, not too many years ago, that having your name on a college diploma was a really big deal. In today's world, however, a college diploma is the new high school diploma. College degrees do not carry anywhere near the weight they once did. Due to the ease of obtaining student loans, a college degree may communicate nothing more than that you are up to your eyeballs in debt. As a result, the landscape of hiring has dramatically changed, Human resources departments can no longer simply skim through a stack of resumes and separate those with degrees from those that don't. In fact, I am seeing more and more employment ads for technical jobs with NO reference to a degree requirement. This is especially true in the world of computer programming. Many companies seeking computer coders DO NOT CARE about your degree, only that you can write code. The new world of online learning is giving people the chance to grab the skill they need without all that is involved with a traditional college degree. Watch this touching video about a homeless man that learned how to write computer code.

Online Learning Can Be Amazingly Inexpensive

An online learning website that I just love, and have taken numerous courses from is Udemy. Udemy has online classes on everything from how to write computer code, start an online business, to even how to get a date. Some of the technical courses can go for $500 or more (which is still a bargain compared to what it would cost to take this same class at a college), but every so often they have a big sale. From now until August 25 you can grab virtually any of their courses for just $10 by clicking this link (coupon code is embedded).

Online IT Software Courses Udemy

I took a couple of hours recently looking through the wide array of online courses available at Udemy, The bottom line is that no one has an excuse these days to be without work. Most people can easily grab a new skill that is demand online. Even if you are so poor that you don't have an Internet connection at home, you can go to your local library and knock out one ore more of these courses on a public access computer.

Chinese Secret Agents Operating Within U.S. Borders

There is startling information from the U.S. government that reveals there has been a marked increase in the number of Chinese secret agents with boots on the ground here in the United States. Beyond the information itself, part of what makes this so striking is that U.S. officials are not usually this forthcoming with its citizens about the existence of such threatsbut here we are.

2015-08-20_6-48-49The agents are dispatched specifically by Chinas Ministry of Public Security think secret police, like Russias old KGB, the notorious Stasi of East Germany, etc. According to U.S. officials, their number has increased substantially over the last several months exact figures are difficult to come by, but it is believed the number of active Chinese agents operating in the U.S. presently is somewhere in the double digits.

Although Chinese agents, once they are here in America, could be up to who knows what, it is at least well-understood by U.S. authorities that they come here in no small way to leverage Chinese nationals to return to China. The U.S. has previously warned China against continuing this practice, clearly to no avail. Moreover, it is against the law for other countries to officially post law enforcement personnel in the U.S. without notifying our government; the Chinese agents apparently come here under the cover of visas granted to students and business people, but are, in fact, acting very much in their professional capacities while inside U.S. borders. It is said that U.S. officials are very irritated at Chinas clear affront to our laws, but it remains to be seen just what they will do about it.

End To Subway Pitchman's Endless 15 Minutes Of Fame

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large

Jared Fogle iswasthe guy we spent time secretly envying, making all of that money and enjoying all of that notoriety simply for having been someone who lost lots of weight on a diet made up largely of Subway sandwiches. We do not, however, envy him any longer - the now-former pitchman, whose entire claim to fame was that he lost a bunch of weight on a diet composed largely of Subway sandwiches, has agreed to plead guilty to charges related in some form or fashion to child pornography and having sex with minors. Hes looking at between five and 12.5 years in prison, and will have to pay 14 underage victims a total of $1.4 million.

2015-08-19_13-54-33

Fogles house was raided by authorities in July, a few months after the director of his Jared Foundation, Russell Taylor, was arrested on various child porn-related charges. It has been reported that the fall of Taylor led directly to the authorities interest in Fogle no surprise there.

Beyond the obvious and egregious moral and criminal failings associated with this sordid behavior, Fogles actions are a head-scratcher, for sure, given his lifestyle situation. Heres a guy who seemed to have it all (in the earthly sense, that is), and did so on the basis of having lost a lot of weight one time; Ive read from various sources that his net worth is around $15 million. I, for one, always marveled at how his 15 minutes of fame stretched into 15 years, and was still going strong at the time he was busted by authorities last month. Nevertheless, that is all gone now, and we hope and pray for the full recovery of his victims.

Subway's Jared To Face Up To 12 Years In Prison After Guilty Plea

If you are a parent, this should be a big wake up call. I find it hard to believe that he was able to get away with this so long, especially being a well known public person. Frankly, I don't think that he should ever get out of prison. I also hope that his agreement to pay money to victims does not reduce his sentence.

Jared Fogle reaches plea agreement in porn case - CNN.com

(CNN)Ahead of his initial appearance in federal court Wednesday, former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle reached a plea agreement with prosecutors that would see him serve between five and 12 years in prison for handling child pornography and having sex with a minor. The court will have to approve the agreement, in which Fogle pleads guilty to possessing and distributing child porn, and to traveling across state lines to have sex with at least two teenage girls.

White House First Openly Transgender Staff Member

The Obama Administration continued its effort to march the United States into a progressive utopia on Tuesday when it named Raffi Freedman-Gurspan as its first openly transgender staff member. Ms. Freedman-Gurspan will work in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel as an outreach and recruitment director.

2015-08-19_12-11-46

Although President Obama was once an opponent of gay marriage, he has done a 180 on the whole subject of gay and transgender rights, and has seen to it that his administration is now an aggressive advocate on behalf of the interests of these groups.

The presidents own changing, historical positions on the matter of gay marriage have been the subject of some controversy, given that they seem to convey at least the strong possibility that he has flip-flopped on the subject over the years in the interest of political expediency.

Presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett issued a statement, saying, in part, Raffi Freedman-Gurspan demonstrates the kind of leadership this administration champions.

And so it goes

Autism And Vaccines

Jon E Mica, author of The Autistic Holocaust and father of an autistic son, speaks out on the connection between autism and vaccines. Also discussed, the protection from lawsuits that pharmaceutical companies enjoy, special 'vaccine courts' that have paid damage awards in the billions of dollars, and California's new law making vaccines mandatory. Stressing that autism is a major public health crisis of unequaled proportions, this book accuses the federal government of refusing to acknowledge it as such and having a corrupt and morally unsound relationship with Big Pharma.

Chick-Fil-A Franchise Owner To Pay Employees During Five-Month Remodel

Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large

By now, weve probably all seen instances wherein we pass one of the usual fast-food restaurants near to where we live, and notice that it is closed for renovations. In cases like that, the location may be out of commission for several weeks, or even a few months. When I see it, I wonder about the employees and what sort of hardships they might be facing at that time. What happens to them can vary, based on a wide variety of factors, but you normally dont hear about them continuing to receive their regular pay while the store at which theyve been working is closed for five months due to badly-needed updatinguntil now.

2015-08-17_18-21-00

It seems that the owner of a Chick-Fil-A franchise in Austin, Texas did that very thing; when his store needed to be closed so that it could be made larger, instead of laying off his employees, he continued to pay them during the five-month period. As a matter of fact, not only did he continue to pay them during this time, he gave them all $1-per-hour raises for staying with him.

I have no idea what sort of a hardship this was or was not to the franchise owner, but, regardless, this is a tremendous gesture of a kind about which one rarely hears. Congratulations to him, as well as to his employees it sounds like they all deserve each other, in the best possible sense of that expression.
