Public Showers at Infamous Concentration Camp Offends Some Visitors

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large

OK, well, this is a little weird, no matter how you see it.

The Auschwitz Memorial in Poland recently installed some cooling misters near the museum entrance to combat the effects of a recent heat wave that has gripped the region. You may be familiar with these devices, which act to cool the air and give relief to those who stand under or very near to them. Anyway, some Jewish visitors to the museum over the past weekend apparently took one look at the mistersand decided they looked a little too much like the fake showers used by the Nazis at the camps to exterminate members of their faith during World War II. One of the offended party over the weekend stated that another in his group referred to the misters as a holocaust gimmick.

2015-09-03_16-25-22For its part, the museum staff has defended its installation of the cooling devices, has no plans to remove them while the heat remains a problem, and seems to be getting a lot of public support in the wake of the news of an offended few. Furthermore, the museum, in seeking to clarify a point that some may see as fine, explained that the actual shower mechanisms installed in the concentration camps were not used as the conduits of the deadly Zyklon B gas, but that the gas was instead deployed through holes in the ceiling and compartments in the walls. Okey-dokie

I suspect this was a no-win situation from the start for the museum staff. The misters surely represent an easily-managed and highly-effective way to address the problem of the heat wave, but the connection between their presence at a concentration camp memorial and showers distributing deadly gas was undoubtedly going to be made by someone. Nevertheless, it appears as though the vast majority of museum visitors right now are pleased with the availability of the misters, and, as mentioned earlier, seem to be very supportive of the museum staff.

Would You Survive Electromagnetic Pulse Attack?

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large

Alive After the Fall is another great survival manual that goes well beyond the norm in terms of information and quality. Many survival materials out there select a specific basis for discussing prepping, and Alive is no different; here, the focus is on the threat posed by both natural and man-made causes to the extended interruption by an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) incident. The person behind Alive After the Fall, an American theology professor who goes by the pseudonym Alexander Cain, details how a massive, highly-disruptive EMP event is foretold in Scripture. High-altitude EMP events, which can be caused by solar storms and lightning bolts, as well as by a nuclear explosion, have the capacity to generate particle surges from the ionosphere that could act to disable power grids and electrical equipment.

2015-09-03_6-44-34

The damage ultimately caused will, of course, vary on the size of the EMP, as well as its location, but the point is that the effects could be very devastatingparticularly if a rogue nation or non-state group purposely detonated such a weapon for the express purpose of causing the trouble outlined here - instantly, an affected region would be plunged into a world of darkness, and whats especially troubling is that it is estimated that it could take years for an area to recover from an EMP attack.

Alive After the Fall does a terrific job explaining the details of the EMP threat, but then really takes off when it moves on to discuss how to plan and prepare for an EMP attack, to include instructions on how to build a special container designed to protect your electronic devices from the destructive static electric fields that result from an EMP.

The manual then goes on to dispense a lot of additional, solid information that pertains to persisting through a distressed environment, information like proper food storage, methods of water purification, which plants are edible (with photographs), instructions on how to make your own solar-powered cooking device, information on bugging out, ideas for alternative forms of transportation in a post-EMP environment, and much, much more.

HOWEVER, I have to say that as great as the information is thats contained in the actual Alive After the Fall ebook, that is only one part of the total package; anyone who purchases Alive After the Fall receives, in addition to the Alive After the Fall ebook, the following 14 bonus reports:

Nuclear Attack Survival Guide; Surviving a Biochemical Attack; Survival Mindset; Secrets to Sanitization After the Fall; Food After the Fall; DIY Greenhouse; Simple Survival Canning; Setting Up Your Survival Seed Bank; Power After the Fall; Safety After the Fall; Survival Guide to Trapping; Survival Guide to Hand Crafted Weapons; Where to Start Prepping; and Self-Defense for Women.

All together, the material received in the complete Alive After the Fall package comes in at just under 600 pages. Whats more, your purchase comes with a 60-day, money-back guarantee, so if you find it necessary, for some reason, to ask for a refund, you can have one for as long as two months after you purchased the product.

This is not the last time I will be discussing the material in Alive After the Fall in this space I want to highlight a variety of the different components of this marvelous package in the coming days, weeks, and months. That said, I thought it a good idea to provide you now with a basic overview of a solid package of survival materials that is well worth the cost, in my opinion. More Than Half of Immigrants on WelfareBut Lots Of Native-Born Citizens Are, As Well

According to a report from the Center for Immigration Studies, slightly over half of all homes in America with an immigrant head-of-household are receiving some form of government assistance, while roughly 30 percent of homes with native-born heads-of-households are receiving such assistance. When looked at through the lens of households that have children, the numbers jump for both immigrant- and native-born-led households: of those, 76 percent of immigrant households are receiving government assistance, compared to 52 percent of native-born households.

2015-09-02_14-28-01

Numbers like these will surely add fuel to the growing fire over immigration and immigration policies in America. Clearly, these are concerning statisticsbut I would wager that the numbers with respect to non-immigrant households are more concerning; think about it 30 percent of native-born-led households are on the public dole, in some form or fashion? And if you look solely at those with kids, the number is over 50 percent?

It stands to reason that, at any given time, a higher percentage of immigrants would be on welfare, as opposed to native-born citizens; its not surprising that people who come to the United States will tend to need a little help getting stabilized when they first arrive. More concerning are the numbers, as a whole, and especially as they apply to natives, people who have been here from birth; the fact that there are so many native-born-led households in America receiving government money, in the form of basic assistance programs like Medicaid and food stamps, is extremely worrisome. The real story is that the numbers are as high as they are, presently, for any group; right before our eyes, the nation is being transformed into a socialist state, and what is so stunning is the lack of any real uproar from the people about it. Have we actually reached the point of no return?

Now Airline Passengers Have to Worry about Air Crew Fighting Mid-Flight

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large

A little while back, I wrote an article about how practically every member of the crew on an airBaltic flightincluding the pilot and co-pilotwas removed by the police for drunkenness just prior to the flights scheduled departure. Frightening news, and we know now that members of that crew have been sentenced to jail term of varying lengths. Not all of the cases have been resolved, but the co-pilot, whose blood alcohol level was revealed to have been roughly seven times the legal limit, was recently sentenced to six months in prison.

Its stark reminder about the very human nature of people who are entrusted with the lives of so many. Weve learned of another it seems that a pilot and co-pilot on a China United Airlines flight engaged in a fistfight in the cockpit while the flight was en route. The brawl happened in June, but were hearing of it now because of how information becomes available through Chinas heavily state-controlled media organs. There are reports that one of the brawlers suffered a bloody head wound as a result of the altercation, something CUA is denying. For now, we know that the pilot and co-pilot, as well as the rest of the crew, have been grounded for six months. Furthermore, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has cut the airlines flying hours by 10 percent, and has prohibited it from adding new routes.

2015-09-02_14-21-28

The new normal in airline travel seems to be unruly passengers and unruly air crew. How did we get to this point? I remember, as a child, that air travel was treated by all as a special event now, its not much different, in terms of experience, than taking the bus. It stands to reason, then, that as we dumb down flying for all, those charged with transporting the precious human cargo will inevitably be caught up in that process.

Disgraced Pitchman Jared Fogles Interest in Children What Did Subway Know?

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large

By now, you know that folksy-looking Jared Fogle, they guy we all came to know and (sort of) love as the real-life face of healthy, fresh, and delicious Subway sandwiches, had a seamy underside to his public persona, to say the least. Fogle recently agreed to plead guilty to charges involving sex with minors and child pornography, and is looking at between five and 12-and-a-half years prison, in addition to having to pay almost $1.5 million to his victims in restitution. However, according to former Subway franchise owner Cindy Mills, Fogle matter-of-factly conveyed his sexual interest in minors to her years ago, but that when she passed the information along to Subway execs, they turned a blind eye and ear to what she had to say.

2015-09-01_6-18-10

According to Mills, who related her story recently to Business Insider, she contacted Jeff Moody, then-CEO of Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust, the global marketing arm of Subway, about Fogle in 2008. Mills says that Moody basically cut her off when she started to tell him what she knew, saying hed heard this kind of information before about the pitchman, but that (speaking about Fogles new wife) he has met someone. She is a teacher and he seems to love her very much, and we think she will help keep him grounded.

For his part, Moody, now the CEO of Ritas Italian Ice, has not responded to various requests for comment regarding Mills allegations, and has publicly declared only that he was shocked by the allegations about Fogle and had no knowledge of his criminal sexual conduct. For its part, Subway previously told Business Insider that, Jeff Moody hasn't worked for the brand for years and we have no record of this allegation, a statement they have reiterated in recent days.

According to Subway, they are continuing an investigation into who at the company knew what, and when, about Fogleand my guess is that theyre not the only ones looking into that very thing right now.

Ten Places in America Where Renting is a Better Deal than Buying Right Now

By Robert G. Yetman, Jr. Editor At Large

Many of you whove been reading us for a while at Christian Money.com know by now that were no longer all in when it comes to buying a home over renting one. We used to be, a long time ago, but different changes in the socioeconomic landscape of these United States over the past many years have removed the no-brainer status from the idea that one should buy, as opposed to rent, whenever possible. This is not to say that buying a home is no longer a good idea for anyonejust that it may not be a good idea for everyone.

Anyway, if you are someone who, for whatever reason, is just fine with remaining a renter for the foreseeable future, you may be interested in a recently-published list of ten places in America where youre actually better off, from a financial standpoint, renting than buying. The locations noted are: San Francisco; Seattle; Suffolk County, NY; Denver; Washington, DC; Portland, OR; Los Angeles; Port St. Lucie, FL; Asheville, NC; and Lincoln, NE.

2015-09-01_6-04-41

These are just examples; there are lots more places like these out there in America right now, but the point is that as home prices continue to ascend while wages stagnate, renting will remain a superior financial option for many people in a wide variety of locations around the country; factor in the assault on homeowners rights being waged at every level of government in America today, and some of you may decide to never again buy a house.

How To Survive The Coming Collapse

With the latest upheavals in the stock market, and the influence of other major economies woeslike Chinasin causing problems for U.S. investors, many are reminded, once again about how interrelated our financial fortunes are with those of people and governments located far, far away. As much as we would like to think it not so, we really are living in a one-world government, a one-world societywhere troubles elsewhere can very directly and very abruptly cause problems for Mr. and Mrs. John Doe living in Anytown, USA. This is another reason why its important that you spend at least some time making sure that you have an ability to withstand at least a temporary period during which the living environment becomes very distressed.

Hundred_dollar_bill_03

Conquering the Coming Collapse is a 134-page ebook that provides a solid overview on the topic of practical survival. What do we mean by practical survival? The kind of survival thats needed when facing distressed conditions that, while challenging, are temporary and wherein societal structure and order is maintained in at least the most basic way. Oftentimes, survival scenarios created by educators in the realm will focus on the direst of circumstances that lead to the most extreme of long-term living conditions, and will do so because they invite the most dramatic survival presentations. Make no mistake, we are not of the opinion that any of that is an impossibility, but its prudent to focus predominantly on the likeliest, rather than the unlikeliest, of distressed circumstances.

On that note, one of the features of Conquering the Coming Collapse that we like is its focus on bugging in, as opposed to bugging out. For those new to survival, bugging out is the term used to describe ones hasty relocation from a home site. Bugging out is, by definition, a relatively extreme step, resorted to when the home is compromised somehow. Being prepared to bug out is important, and having a bug-out bag, equipped with appropriate supplies, should be a priority for any serious prepper, but, that said, its going to be more important for most people to know what to do when bugging in; the simple reality is that most of what you may encounter in the way of distressed conditions, while severe, will not likely drive you from your home.

You need to know what to do when youre at home, along the lines of survival prep and behavior, to weather the storm, so to speak. Theres a great section in the ebook on keeping your home warm and dry should you lose power in a cold-weather environment. One part of the section describes how to make a candle heater for about $20, giving you an effective mechanism by which to heat using a votive candle. Theres another great piece of information that tells how to be sure youre getting the most from your firewood, and theres even a list of the best kinds of wood to use for firewood.

6a00d8341d71ad53ef01b7c7b75a9b970b-120wiTheres a lot in this manual, and weve touched on just one, small part of it in this article. There are excellent sections, as well, on cultivating your own food sources, home fortification, specific lists on what should be included in survival kits and bug-out bags (should you, in fact have to get out of Dodge), and even how to find food in the wild. Were leaving out a bunch more, too, but you get the point Conquering the Coming Collapse packs a lot of information into 134 pages. Oh, and if the prospect of getting your hands on a great survival guidebook isnt enough to entice you, note that it comes with a 60-day, money back guarantee if it turns out that you dont think its so great; either way, youre covered!
