has anyone told you yet the book they're reading in that comic you reblogged (since you asked)? pretty sure that's batgirl (I don't know anything about comics really but she put on a bat costume and dyed her hair red so I googled batgirl and pictures match
Thank you, I was kind of kidding. I write the book in the cartoon, it IS Batgirl, and the cartoonist is a reader who put the book in because he likes it.
All is well. Thanks, though, that was a nice gesture.

As a redhead, do you consider the term "ginger" offensive?
I don’t.
I don’t care for it, but ‘offensive’ seems to imply a pretty heavy meaning for the word that it doesn’t seem to have.

Holy GOD, look at THAT.
Emerald City Comic Con!
I will indeed be going to the Emerald City Comic Con, I will be there all three days. WOOT!
It’s March 1-3, last year I was so slammed the entire con, I had to beg to leave my table to go to the bathroom. YIKES! I didn’t get to see the convention until five minutes before they closed, the last day.
I have been going to this con since it was very small. Seeing it grow each year has been a real thrill.
Hope to see you guys there!
Hey Gail! I was going through my comics wishlist for comixology and your Birds of Prey run is on there. I was curious - how important are the previous arcs/issues to the runs you did? Am I going to be lost or does everything you do stand on its own? Thanks
It depends…if you are only looking to read my stories, you’re fine, start with my first issue, no worries, you’ll pick it up immediately.
But there are some great stories that came before that, in the book. It’s hard to go wrong, really.

Indestructible Art 66: Dr. Andrea Letamendi
This week we are joined by very special guest Dr. Andrea Letamendi (@ArkhamAsylumDoc) a certified psychologist, blogger, cosplayer, convention speaker, and Star Wars enthusiast. Andrea tells us about her work in helping different comic writers create better characters, and how she came to be a character herself. Her expertise helps us to understand many different topics, ranging from the development of villains to the current public outlook on violence in media. We can’t thank her enough for coming on the show, and hope you all enjoy our chat as much as we did.

Hi Gail. You've talked before about finding it unprofessional to single out particular creators that you work with for criticism. Do you ever find it difficult to point out particular trends in comics that you disapprove of without falling into doing this?
Boy, do I.
I just think it’s a drag for readers to read that stuff. It’s juicy, it’s salacious, but in the end, it’s also unpleasant and takes away from the stories.
Will you be coming to a convention in Canada anytime soon? (hopefully Toronto?)
I was just in Nova Scotia. I have been invited to two cons in Canada this year so far but sadly had to turn both down due to prior commitments. :( So I don’t think I have anything up there this year yet!
