As promised, pictures of me at work wearing my amazing Leaving Megalopolis shirt signed by the great Gail Simone!

That thank you on the sign is really, really strongly felt by both myself and my friend and coworker Heather (grangerisms). Not just a thank you for the signed shirt (which I absolutely love!), but also for being a stand up lady who writes damn fine comics and actively tries to make genre and the industry a better place. It’s a joy to be a fan!

Love and bonerses!

Awwwwww!

I was having a rough day until I read this. THANK YOU TO TWO BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL LADIES!

Gail, there's something that's been bothering me that came to a head with today's Carrie Kelley announcement. I totally get and respect people's frustration for the lack of Cass and Steph. I get it. But every time a new Gotham lady gets introduced now, peo

This is tricky.

On the one hand, I agree that it seems pretty counter-productive to ignore wonderful new characters because they aren’t a character that you love that hasn’t appeared yet.

That kind of thinking would prevent any wonderful new characters from being created, it makes no sense to me.

On the other hand, I kind of get it. I’m sad about some characters missing a LOT myself, it’s hard to put that aside sometimes, even if a new character or story is wonderful.

I have a hard time telling readers not to be upset about the stuff that they are upset about, for any reason. And the fact that things are still so much on HOLD for beloved characters makes it harder, I know.

I think people are mostly willing to try, once they read the stories. It’s easy to get upset over news stories, but if the stories are done with care, some characters will still manage to shine.

I’ve seen a LOT of love for Harper and quite a bit for Strix. I think people are being pretty fair once they give the characters a shot. It’s understandable to be upset over characters you miss.

For some reason I think you could write a great Power Girl series. But are their any male characters you would like to write?

Lots, Spider-man, Punisher, Captain Marvel, Green Lantern (John or Kyle), Batman, there’s a bunch.

Why are Katharsis' wings robotic now?

They were always robotic, they just were made to LOOK organic previously.

WHO LEADS THE MOVEMENT?

Only my favorite new character in ages. I love this character so much I could kick a buffalo.

I think you are going to like them, too.

Ack! CAN’T WAIT FOR THE BOOK TO START COMING OUT!

If you could be on either the JLA or the JSA, which would it be?

Well, that’s easy…J…

Uh.

Dang.

Hmmm.

That’s a tough one.

I think you misunderstood me. The description of the new Carrie Kelley is: she is older and in college, is 'spunky', and knew Damian. Which sounds a hell of a lot more like Stephanie Brown to me.

I am not attached to this story. But I know that’s not much information to base any kind of informed opinion on.

I haven’t read it, I am not working on it. Don’t have any information about it, frankly.

DC must really hate Stephanie Brown. They've just announced the New 52 version of Carrie Kelley and she is essentially Stephanie with short hair and glasses. Thought?

I………………….do not agree with that assessment at all.

I’m sorry, if we’re talking about the original canon version of Carrie, they just aren’t that similar. But I didn’t finish the Dark Knight sequel or any other appearances, so maybe she became more like Steph eventually. But in her time as Robin, she wasn’t like Steph at all, to my mind.

And she predates Stephanie by a number of years.

I am not involved with this story, but Carrie was a pretty delightful creation in her own way. It’ll be interesting.
