Did you see what JHW III said about his Batwoman villain issue getting canned?

I did, it’s a shame. A more talented and gracious guy, it’s hard to imagine.

No Batgirl solicitation for september... is there something we fans should worry about? lately with DC, you never know... please....

No, not at all, most of the books are being replaced with a villain issue that month, that’s all. Ours is the VENTRILOQUIST issue, which I wrote and am very proud of!

Geeky Goth Girl: On Sexism And Comic Con Panels

Geeky Goth Girl: On Sexism And Comic Con Panels:

geekygothgirl:

It makes me angry that I have to do this, but I’m going to do it anyway. Last week at Denver Comic Con, I went to a panel on women and body image in comics that I had very high hopes for. It was modded by the same woman who’d modded the very excellent Geek Girl panel earlier that day, and had two…

Okay. Two names for me to remember, and not in a good way.

“Andrew Mark,” and “Legacy Action Comics.”

You SURE this is how you want to get on the radar of the industry, Mr. Mark?

This Is Infuriating

A convention vendor is using images of cosplayers on ‘sexy pillows’ without their consent and against their wishes.

Go read this if you want to be as furious as I am right at this moment.

Hey, “2 Image Solutions.”

You do not own these women, you do not get to use them without their permission to sell whatever crappy service you claim to provide.

This isn’t going to go well for your efforts once the word gets out.  I strongly suggest you stop selling these pillows and issue a full apology, and I mean RIGHT NOW, THIS INSTANT.

This is your chance to redeem yourself and be thought of as someone who made a bad judgment and regretted it.

Take it.

Why do you think comic companies feel the need to keep killing lesser known characters to be "shocking" and "edgy"? I just don't understand it. As a fan of of the B/C-list characters over the A-list ones, it seems like all too often a character I love is b

I think it’s mostly just shock value stuff when people have run out of ideas.

Death should not be off the table. The threat of death and physical harm should be there in almost all adventure stories. But it has to be handled well and honestly. Done badly, it cheapens the writer and the characters.

Since you spoke of Red Hood, would you like to write the caracter? What kind of things you think you could do with it, that weren't explored yet?

I have to say, he’s not hugely high up on my list of must-write characters, really. I like him, but I don’t know that I would be adding much.

I’d have to give it some serious thought. Some characters I like, but don’t feel compelled to write, for whatever reason. Just a gut feeling, really.

What if Misfit joins Red Hood and the Outlaws by accident? Heh. Are you friends with Tynion? Can that happen?

I would love that. I have tried to bring Misfit back many times in the new52.

No go, so far.

If You Feel The Need To Insult A Cosplayer...

myconstantsketch:

gailsimone:

…because of their body type, here’s what you do.

Pick out a favorite character. Research that character extensively.

Get a bunch of fabric, or whatever material is most appropriate. Get a sewing machine.

Carefully make a pattern based on your character.

Then hit yourself in the head with the sewing machine because no one cares what you think about the body shapes of cosplayers.

Gail Simone speaks the truth!

I like to provide valuable life advice like this from time to time.
