Have I mentioned how much I love The Movement?  If you’re not reading this book, you’re missing out.  Excellent writing from Gail Simone, awesome art from Freddie Williams II, and an AMAZING and diverse team of cool, unique characters.  (I have crushes on Virtue, Vengeance Moth, and Mouse.)

It’s important to spread your crushes around. ;)

I'm truly grateful that you & Joss Whedon are such strong supporters of the LGBT community. But I feel somewhat let down by the both of you. Neither of you have had a gay or bi male lead character in any of your works. I know you've said Catman & Deadshot

I never said Deadshot was gay.

Other than that, I’ve had gay and bi- male characters, but I will agree that they need more prominence.

It’s not an excuse, but most of the books I have worked on had an established lead already. When you write Wonder Woman, there isn’t really an option for a male lead, not for any length of time. And additionally, I admit that I have focused a lot of my career on female characters simply because that gender gap was so immense. Or I’ve worked on team books where ‘lead’ characters don’t really exist.

But even in female lead books, I tried to put in gay and bi male characters, like Achilles, Savant, Creote, Ragdoll and Catman, among others. The Movement has a gay male lead character (we start to talk about it in issue seven) and there’s a strong supporting gay male coming in Batgirl.

Could always do more. It’s on my mind a lot. I’m sorry for the lack of representation, but there’s been some and I’m working on more. Will try to do better.

Real life question sorta!

If they were real and you lived in the DCU…would you date;

Mouse?

Jeannette?

Ragdoll?

Jeanette! She’s an awesome banshee ffs! O_o

May I remind you, maybe, that she’s also kind of dead?  :)

How does Mouse come up with the names for his rats?

They tell him. He knows very sophisticated rats!

I think every girl longs to be told she doesn’t smell like garbage. That’s why I wrote it in my wedding vows.

Excellent issue this month. The series is developing nicely now that we know the characters and the stakes a little better. Nice reveal at the end, too.

The Movement #4 by Gail Simone and Freddie Williams III.

Humbert is totally overseeing the composing of this note!
