Okay, I was on a panel with this writer, David Walker, a couple months ago.

I was not familiar with his work.  But hearing him talk about this book blew my mind. It was one of the smartest, most compelling pitches for a title I have ever heard.

I have never seen a Shaft film, I only know the character second-hand. But this is not some conceptually-slender low-budget book. It is ABOUT things, it’s got business to attend to, and I am loving what I have read so far.

Seriously, I think this may be a sleeper hit, one of the best reads of the year. I hope people give it a shot!

Of all the characters you've written, who do you personally identify with the most?

I used to think it was Black Canary because I can be impulsive.

Then I thought it was Oracle because I have red hair and glasses and sit in front of a computer telling people what to do (imaginary people, in my case).

Now I think it might be Red Sonja. :)

I'm really excited for Secret Six issue 1 this week. This will be the first new52 title Ive committed to buying (with the possible exception of Batman Inc volume 2 if that counts?!) on a monthly basis. Thats due the strength of your storytelling-from Villa
