So what did you do for Halloween? Anything fun?

We got scary movies, played UNTIL DAWN, and had treats and comics for Trick Or Treaters!

The dogs loved meeting all the kids. :)

Hi Gail. Is it true that Munira/Obscura is based on a real Malay person?

Yes and no, she is based on two real Malay women, who helped with research and vetted stuff I had written for her background. They were HUGELY helpful and I really hoped to develop her more, I’m not aware of any really cool Malay characters playing a significant role at DC right now (there may be some and I am not aware). But sadly, my run on the book ended before Obscura got a real chance to shine.

But all is not lost, a similar thing did happen with Tremor, who is Bengali and asexual, when Secret Six ended, and she wound up in the Movement to get a bit more development. Obscura could easily reappear. I hope she does!

Hi. I'm thinking about turning one of my short stories into a comic to submit to "Image Comics". I was wondering if you had any advice about converting a novel like short story into a comic script? Thank you. :)

I haven’t done that, so I don’t really have much advice. But I would consider the market. One-shots don’t do well usually, Image tends to do ongoing series and a few mini-series, is there enough story in your short story to make a full mini?
