This is going to sound bad, but I didn’t know about you and all that you’ve done until I found your Tumblr. And dear god, I’m loving all of it. You’re sassy, kind, and one hell of an artist. You’ve written hundreds of comics that I love, and hundreds that
That is very kind, thank you! :)
Sorry if I came off as weird or anything when I kept reblogging all your stuff, I just didn’t know you had a tumblr and I’m a huge fan lol
Always fine!
I just wanted to say, I love your Run on Red Sonja
That makes me very happy! Thank you, I love her!
Hi, I’ve been a follower of yours for a while but all of your Secret Six posts lately made me want to check it out. Which issues/volumes did you work on? The internet doesn’t always give clear answers so I thought it’d be best to go straight to the source.
Oh, man, I am bad at this. I started with the Villains United mini. Then there was a second with the same title, then two series with the title Secret Six. And a Villains United special.
I THINK that’s everything?
what do comic writers and editors typically look for in an art portfolio?
A lot of people bring half-finished art in their portfolio. Don’t. It’s better to leave that stuff at home. And don’t bring work you have progressed beyond ‘to show improvement.’ Leave that at home, too.
There are a lot of cover artists out there. IF you only want to do covers, you aren’t competing with the worst out there, but the BEST. So if you are doing single cover-like pieces, better be able to compete with Adam Hughes and Artgerm, OR bring something entirely new.
What they do need is sequentials. Get a proper script and draw the best pages. Use creativity and storytelling basics. WOW them.
That’s it!
just wanted to say thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day and hosting comics school :) had a blast and felt i learned so much about writing and comics
I am so, so glad. It’s something I would never normally have had time for. Even now, I’m busy as hell, but I wanted to use the time for something that might help aspiring writers and also build a little morale boost, maybe.
I had no idea it was going to be so huge. The New York times covered it, it’s being translated into multiple languages, the DISCORD has 1300 members, it’s ridiculous. But also, some of the writers found artists, so who knows? We may have some of these stories fully drawn, and that makes me happy!
Have you heard of the "critter hug of death"? We are legion and welcome you to our ranks.
Aw, thank you. I had no idea. I knew the cast was popular but I didn’t even know what CR actually WAS. So I mentioned it, and just got DELUGED with welcoming responses, literally by the thousand. And the cast has been incredibly kind.
I’m looking forward to getting further in the series, I’ve barely started!

I love Harley Quinn (maybe not as much as Margot Robbie does). Like she was the first time I remember thinking, “Maybe I’m not as straight as previously advertised.”
So of course, I bought “Birds of Prey.” I love Gail Simone’s run; I love Harley. It was a no brainer.
Why did none of you warn me about Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress?!? My poor little wlw heart had to go into that completely unprepared.
There better be a sequel that’s mostly Huntress beating people up and being an awkward ball of rage.
