Dear Gail, I am resident of Orlando and this weekend I lost my best friend of 5 years in the pulse Orlando tragedy. I am so angry instead of being sad this was not fair. I am mostly angry at the gunman as he was proud of his achievement I ask why taking

Oh, my god, I’m so sorry, here I am just prattling away and I didn’t even see this note until this moment.

I hope you are doing okay. The ‘why’ is the worst one of all, there’s just too much hate and not enough love.

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. I’m sure they would want you to live and be happy and remember them with love as best you can.

Eric Larsen, blacklisted for not agreeing that Dick Grayson has the best butt

Well, yeah, that’s the ultimate offense!

Is Clean Room a horror series or a thriller? I'm eager to buy it but don't know anything about it other than you're writing it.

It’s a psychological thriller, but I wouldn’t argue with you if you called it a horror title. It’s the story of a self-help guru named Astrid Mueller, and the journalist, Chloe Pierce, who tries to bring her down. All the while, disturbing forces are out there that only the two of them can perceive. I think it may be the best thing I’ve written.

Hope you give it a try!

So if someone had $50 to spend at a con and they want to pick up trade paper backs with well written strong female characters and some diversity... the kind of books you hold in your hand, love reading, beg your friends to go out and read, place on your b

I would definitely suggest MONSTRESS, MS. MARVEL, let me see…of my stuff, probably Red Sonja or Clean Room?

There’s lots of stuff but my brain is sleepy.

Hi gail is it true Dan and Jim wanted you to be part of rebirth but Geoff Johns said no but Dan enjoys working with you and offered you a vertigo series instead

I have no idea, but the Vertigo series was in place ages before Rebirth was even a notion so that part isn’t at all true. It doesn’t sound accurate.

I don’t pay any attention at all to backstage stuff anymore. I’m not good at politics, I’m the worst at it, I always seem to make things worse just by opening my mouth. That’s on me. So I stopped paying attention to it, regardless of publisher.

As far as I know, none of those three guys has a beef with me, we just all took a little break, and I frankly think very highly of them for different reasons. At some point in my career, each of them has done a hugely generous and kind thing for me that was hugely helpful, without expecting anything in return. I don’t forget stuff like that. I’ve had very nice meetings and discussions with Dan and Jim pretty recently and just had a nice email with Geoff about how much I enjoyed REBIRTH (which I really, really did, it felt like the DCU I love).

But I was offered stuff, I had some ideas, I’m sure I will work at DC again at some point. It still feels like my comics home, I love the people, love the characters, and REBIRTH has me really excited by the possibilities. I just was concentrating on creator-owned stuff for a while for a variety of reasons. I wanted to go on an adventure, and I’ve really enjoyed it.  But I still have a bunch of characters I miss, and there are some that I think could use some love. Who knows?
