Quick Scheduling Notes
For tumblrs who might be attending these events.
I hope you stop by and say hello, I would love to meet you.
This weekend, I will be at the Montreal Comic Con, my first trip to Montreal. I can't wait.

October 1-2nd, I will be at the CROSSROADS WRITERS CONFERENCE in Macon, Georgia, which sounds like a really impressive literary gathering with some fun events included.

And on October 8-9th, I will be at the first ever GEEK GIRL CON. http://www.geekgirlcon.com/ This event is the first genre/pop culture event I've been to with a female theme. I'm very excited for this, it sounds like it's going to be incredible. That's in Seattle.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to make it to BENT-CON as I had hoped, the lgbtq-themed comic/culture con in LA on DEC 3-4, but I hope people go and support this excellent event.
Other than that, I have three other appearances this year, all outside of the US, two in countries (and one continent!) that I have never been to before. They should be announced soon.
I'm loving the atmosphere of cons lately. They are much more inclusive as a rule (still a ways to go, but getting there), the cosplayers are amazing, the guest lists are fascinating and the readers make the whole thing unforgettable.
I hope if you can make it to any of these, you can stop and say hi. If I only know you by your Tumblr handle, please let me know!
See you then!

Lois Lane And Clark Kent
Sigh.
My favorite marriage to write (other than Barbara and Dinah).
What a beautiful piece.
Bent-Con 2011
If you are in the Southern California area December 3-4, you should seriously consider going to Bent-Con, a comics and pop culture event with an lgbtq focus.
It's put on by some fantastic people, and the comics guest list contains some mainstream hitters like Phil Jimenez, as well as some indy stars like Paige Braddock and Patrick Fillion. Some major genre media stars will be there as well, but I don't believe they have been announced yet so I have to shut up about that. But it's COOL.
This is a great event, I was invited and it's killing me that I can't go but I have a scheduling conflict. I hope you SoCal folks go take a look.

Anime and Comics: Birds of Prey: Of Like Minds
Is a beautiful book that deals with the issue of being disabled brilliantly. Surprisingly well from an able bodied writer. I may not be wheelchair bound but I have been temporarily from my surgery to make me walk better. The surgery for Cerebral Palsy at the age of 12 is a bitch. I can also…
I hope everyone reads this. I've gotten a lot of extremely emotional email, and I admit I'm a big softie but the honest feelings in this post really move me. It's very bittersweet, because on the one hand, I'm thrilled that these books have meant so much to so many people, but on the other, we still are losing Oracle, at least for now.
A lovely letter.
I hope soon we have some more characters that you can fall in love with that give you, not the same feelings, but an equally meaning set of feelings and joys. We're definitely going to try.

Black Alice by Oliver Nome
Magic Monday
WOW.
That's BEAUTIFULLY realized and rendered.
One problem we had with Alice a couple times is that she didn't really look like what she was meant to be, the clothes didn't match her personality. A couple times, she's been drawn more as a superhero physique (in the stereotypical manner). This is right no target. Nice!

Worthless as Tits on a Boar Hog: Just a Robin Question
Just curious, there is a lot of love for the various Robins, here.
So my question is, can you put the five Robins in order from least favorite to most beloved?
No judgments, just wondering.
Hmm… Why is Gail Simone asking about Robin? Does this mean something?
Okay, least…
I swear I was only asking out of curiosity, honestly. I believe all the Robins are spoken for or in the process.

I'm super happy with how this one turned out. There are a couple of tweaks I want to make, but I think I might wear this one again for Mid-Ohio Con.

Fantastic. Great job, everyone!
