Tim’s first novel, Hellbound, was born while on the road, written on airplanes and in hotel rooms. The book was discovered on an online writer’s forum by Dangerous Little Books author CJ Werleman (God Hates You, Hate Him Back), who immediately recommended it to his publisher. Hellbound has since been followed by sequels, I Am Satan and Deicide.

Tim has gone on to win the AHWA ‘Flash Fiction’ Story of the Year twice (2013, 2020) and has been shortlisted for an Australian Shadows Award. He has recently contributed to best-selling books such as Dear Santa, Dear Dad, and Dear Mum, plus released a literary fiction novel under the pen name T.S. Hawken.

We went through so many raw emotions, but also a lot of oddly funny stuff you don't really hear about from the outside. It made me shift gears in my work to write a real, yet uplifting fiction novel related to the experience. After all, they say you should write what you know. Five years later, this is what came out. Oh, and my wife is doing super well. Life is full of surprises.(less)

7 Best Post-Apocalyptic Books Without Zombies (plus a dash of Hopepunk)

If you're burnt out on the standard "lone wolf blasting the undead with a shotgun" trope, I’m with you. Zombie fiction is great, sure, but sometimes you want a post-apocalyptic tale where the threat isn't a brain-hungry corpse. What’s even more terrifying is the environment, human nature, or the sheer weight of isolation.
