Spring Flight Blog Fest Paranormal Romance and Wines!
This Blog is right up my alley! Not only do I read and write Paranormal Romance's but I love wine. I think being raised in a French family and living near a winery in California has a lot to do with that. I dearly love my hometown winery Corbet Canyon Vineyard located on the Central Coast of California. If you are not sure where the Central Coast is it's about an hour north of Santa Barbara. It's truly a beautiful area and if you ever get the chance I strongly encourage anyone to visit.
Now, to the good stuff. I'm giving away a copy of my newest release. The second novel in the Dark Breed Series, Passion's Flight. All you need to do is leave me a comment on this blog. I will be picking the winner on Saturday 4/28 through Random Number. Org and my contest is open to US, Canada and Internationally too!
Good Luck and now, here is a little about the book.
BLURB:
Tegan Murin has his hands full these days. Feral attacks are increasing, targeting humans, and now he is ordered to find and destroy a deadly artifact known as Oman’s Seal, deal with his estranged step-father and find a missing archaeologist. He’s a bit irritable. Add into the mix a recurring dream of one sexy seductress leading him to his death… well, you get one very pissed off were-panther.Kyra Navarone is more than what she seems. Escaping from the Ferals who captured her, she ends up running into a brooding, irritating man who makes her blood run hot just with one look. Her life depends on the betrayal of this compelling man, but how can she live with herself afterward?More than their lives hang in the balance. In order to survive they must learn to trust one another before the world they know and the one hidden beneath the waves are destroyed forever.
EXCERPT:
His gaze caught once again on her face as she stopped at arm’s length away from him. Her eyes, he noted slanted up at an exotic angle enhancing a heart shaped face. Her nose was small, straight with a small upturn at the tip and her lips, Gods those lips were made for a man to kiss! Full and pale pink, he had the sudden urge to see if they were as soft and lush as they looked. “You are different from the others,” she stated it as fact in a husky voice, filling his mind with all kinds of lecherous ideas. “Yeah, I’ve been accused of that before,” he replied giving her a slow smile. Her arched brows angled down in a frown. “No, I mean I think you are here for me.” “Any other time, sweetheart, but this is hardly the place for a conversation. We need to get out of here fast before some real bad guys come back here.” “Yes, it is not safe here. You must go,” she agreed turning to head back into the forest. He quickly grabbed her arm turning her to face him. “Whoa there, no way am I leaving you alone, lady. Come on. Let’s get out of here.” She pulled back from him. Her voice brushed over him like velvet, yet her words rang with steel. “I am quite capable of taking care of myself. Just get out of here now. I will not be the cause of more deaths.” “I know how to handle myself, so don’t worry your pretty little head about it,” he purred, giving her his best seductive smile. He watched those gorgeous eyes narrow with irritation at him. “My pretty little head? You just didn’t say that to me did you? Of course you didn’t. Because if you did that would mean I was dealing with a real imbecile. No, I take that back. I would be talking to a chauvinistic, egomaniacal jerk who had the IQ of a rock.” “Wow, a rock huh?” His eyes narrowed, all thoughts sexual dissolving in an instant, “Who the hell are you, lady?” He felt his temper rise, never a good sign when his cat prowled just under his skin.. “I’ve been called worse things in my life, and though I would love to stand here and argue with you, I just don’t have that kind of time, so if you don’t mind, move your ass.” “I have never met a more disagreeable person in all of my life,” she huffed. “That life will be very short and painful if we don’t get the hell out of her. Now!” “I just so happen to know this area very well and I don’t need to be saved,” she snapped back at his abruptness. Moving swiftly away from the burning bodies and out to the main path. They walked for some time in a strained silence stretching between them, tension spiking between them until she blurted out the first thing that came to mind. “Are you always this… exasperating?” “Baby, that’s my middle name,” he drawled. “Now get that pretty little ass moving.” “Do you have to use such base language? Honestly, it shows a lack of intelligence.” she grumbled as he marched her out of the settlement to a small overgrown trail. “Didn’t your mama ever tell you it’s dangerous to judge a book by its cover? It may just take your head off,” he advised dryly picking up the pace. “By the way, do you have a name or should I just call you pain in the ass?” “Anyone ever tell you you’re a jerk?” “Every minute of every day.” He chuckled. “Your name?” She huffed out an irritated breath. “I am Doctor Navarone, Kyra to my friends, which by the way youare not.” Don't forget to check all the great participants and enter for you chance to win!

BLURB:
"One night, seven teenagers wake completely alone and in the dark. Their parents are gone, and it seems everyone on earth has disappeared as well. Worse, the electricity is off. Surrounded by darkness, their differences no longer matter; they are the sole survivors of an alien attack and the last hope for humanity. But in the black of night, can they outrun the hulking creatures with the glowing red eyes? Priya is the exotic girl who says what she thinks. Will was a star athlete before the attack. They find Trevor and Aiyana, the twins; Alex and Ricardo, the tough guys; and finally, Lindsey, the innocent. Together, the seven of them are the last humans on earth—but are they really humans at all? They have no idea that the government has known of the incoming alien attack for decades; to prepare they created special children with very special abilities. The chosen seven are part alien and part human, and they exist to fight off the otherworldly forces, threatening to conquer the planet. But with such differing personalities, will the seven be able to put their pride be-hind and work together? They must move beyond the grief of lost friends and family and find the strength to go on; if they don’t, the world will die, taken over by monstrous creatures that can smell your fear."Sounds like a good read to me and it made me very curious to know more about the writer behind Survival of the Fittest.Do you do anything to get you into the zone to write?
I listen to ambient music. Usually something dark or sad.
Which authors inspire your writing?
I’m inspired by Terry Trueman, Neal Shusterman, and Scott Kenemore
What is your favorite book, character and why?
My favorite book is Zombie, Ohio. I love the main character Kenemore created because he told the story through the POV of the zombie. It was nice to read a story that exits the fight to live for humans and read something that shows what a zombie might be thinking.
Do you prefer to write erotic or sweet?
Neither. But I do include sweetness between my characters who fall in love.
Which famous person, living or dead, are you drawn to?
Henry David Thoreau. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, I think I’m him. I know that sounds strange, but Walden felt as though I had written it. Our feelings seem to be exactly the same.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I will continue to teach, it’s what I love. I will still be writing because that’s my passion. So, look for more from me in the future.
Finish this sentence: I know I’ve made it when_______________? Someone tells me they loved my book.
What advice would you give aspiring writers?
Never give up. Follow your dream.
What do you see yourself writing in the future?
Some fantasy, some zombie-type works, and some highly dystopian society pieces.
If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
True magic. I would love to be able to zap things up, create new things, disappear, anything that magic would allow me to do. Think Bewitched (Elizabeth Montgomery).
What time of the day are you at your best to write?
Early evening.
And now for something completely different…
What do you look at first with an attractive man or woman, face, body or smile?
Face.
Explain your perfect day.
Any day in Reno, Nevada. It’s the MOST BEAUTIFUL place on Earth.
What is the most decadent desert you can’t say no to?
Anything chocolate.
Do you have a favorite holiday what is it and what makes it special to you?
I’m not big on holidays.
What key words describe you best?
Hardworking, funny, dark, sad, lonely

An avid lover of paranormal romance, Melynda was inspired to write her own series after reading the Book of Enoch. She’s always had a fascination with stories about angels, and the role they’ve played in the history of our multi-dimensional world. She attended Bethel University in Minnesota and graduated in 2003, holding AA, ASN and BSN degrees. She lives in Northern Minnesota where she has plenty of snow-filled days to curl up in front of the fireplace with her Chihuahua, and a hot cup of coffee, to write. She’s blessed with two amazing children, and a wonderful husband of seventeen years.Until Darkness Comes:“Writing Until Darkness Comes has been a fantastic adventure, culminating a world of mystery, suspense, love and deception. Have you ever wondered what it might be like if we could see beyond our dimension? Step into Olivia Norton’s world, where nothing is quite as it seems, and evil lurks where she least expects it.”Visit Melynda at www.MelyndaPrice.com
Amazon BioMelynda Price is an avid lover of all things paranormal. She’s always had a fascination with stories about angels, and the role they’ve played in the history of our multi-dimensional world.
Her debut novel, Until Darkness Comes—Book 1 Redemption Series, released March 21st, and is quickly gaining popularity among paranormal lovers. Melynda has a gift for making the unbelievable believable, culminating a tale of deception, temptation and romance. Have you ever wondered what it might be like if we could see beyond our dimension? She invites you to join Olivia Norton's world, where nothing is quite as it seems, and evil lurks where you least expect it.BLURB:A guardian angel… A forbidden love… Eternal consequences…

Max will stop at nothing to finish what he's started, and Olivia is soon plunged into a battle between good and evil. Her very life hangs in the balance as two forces fight to win her heart.
Do you do anything to get you into the zone to write?
I drink coffee! Lots of coffee!!
Which authors inspire your writing?
I’d say JR Ward and Lara Adrian. They have a writing style that appeals to me. I love series—the longer the better. They write dynamic sexual tension, fantastic dialogue, great plotting, and their characters have strong, individual personalities. Those are the most important qualities I look for as a reader, and strive for as an author.
What is your favorite book, character and why?
Hmm…this is hard because I have a few favorites. From Lara Adrian, I’d say Midnight Awakening, Tegan’s hard-ass personality and tortured past was a great foundation for a wonderful love story. From JR Ward, I’d say Lover Awakened. Ward did a fantastic job of developing Zadist’s character. It’s hard to pull off your hero, having been victimized as he was, and still have your readers see him as a strong alpha male. That story was fantastically done.
Do you prefer to write erotic or sweet?
I prefer the middle road—spicy. Until Darkness Comes is sweet, with a little heat. Each book builds in heat as Olivia and Liam’s relationship changes. I want the Redemption series to appeal to YA and adult, so I tried to be mindful of how explicit this book got.
Which famous person, living or dead, are you drawn to?
That’s a hard one to answer. Honestly, I’d probably have to say Joyce Meyer. Most mornings I start my day watching Enjoying Everyday Life. She incorporates biblical principles into everyday living and that inspires me.
Where do you see yourself in five years?Hopefully on the New York Times Bestsellers list. When you’re a new author, it’s hard to get you name out there. It takes time, persistence and a lot of patience.
Finish this sentence: I know I’ve made it when_______________?
My favorite authors read and endorse my work.
What advice would you give aspiring writers?
Be open to critiquing, it’ll make you a better writer. Don’t give up. It only takes one “yes” for your dreams to come true.
What do you see yourself writing in the future?
I plan to finish my four-part Redemption series. I’m editing the second book right now, called Shades of Darkness. I’ve also started my Atillian Warrior series which will probably be at least eight books. The first book in that series, Bonded in Exile, I’m currently editing as well.
If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
I think I would like to be able to fly. I’d enjoy gaining another perspective on the world.
What time of the day are you at your best to write?
Early in the morning, before the distractions of the day pull me in too many directions to focus.
And now for something completely different…
What do you look at first with an attractive man or woman, face, body or smile?
Definitely the smile. You can tell a lot about someone by their smile. I find a great set of teeth very sexy.
Explain your perfect day.
Getting my kids off to school, and no one forgets their lunch, or their backpack, or their homework. The sun is shining, and I settle in for the day with my Chihuahua on my lap, a coffee in my hand, and I have a full day of uninterrupted writing.
What is the most decadent dessert you can’t say no to?
Dark chocolate cake with chocolate chips, and fudge frosting.
Do you have a favorite holiday? What is it and what makes it special to you?Easter is my favorite holiday. It’s special to me because this is a time of rejoicing, when our family comes together to celebrate the promise of eternal life.
What key words describe you best?
Creative, Introvert, Dependable, Loving
Before I go, I want to say thank you, Shannan, for hosting me on your blog, and thank you to everyone who stopped by today. Be sure to follow me on my blog www.melyndaprice.com and email me your contact information Melynda@MelyndaPrice.com for a chance to win a free copy of Until Darkness Comes J

Surviving a bite from a Lycan, attracted to one hot vampire guy and now she has to look forward to turning into something from some bad werewolf movie. Marcus Valerian has enough on his plate without the added complication of Tambra Ellis. Fiery and independent? Sure. Beautiful with a body made for sin? Oh Yeh. And a human cop. Tambra is everything he needs to stay away from. As leader of the Tribunal’s enforcers it’s up to him to find out why the Dark Breeds are going feral and killing humans in ever increasing numbers. Tambra’s life is in the balance as the secrets of her past place her in the middle of old deceits and a betrayal that will change the world forever. Will Marcus and Tambra’s love survive or will it be too late. Excerpt: Her eyes widened in horror as she took a shaky step backward. “Oh, God. This isn’t happening. It can’t be real. Werewolves don’t exist.” “Believe me, they do exist. Denying what you have seen will be foolish and dangerous, for you and everyone you’re around.” “No. I don’t believe this. I won’tbelieve it. There has to be some logical explanation for what I saw.” The sharp edge of hysteria rose in her voice. “I will not turn into a dog. I don’t even like dogs.” That made him smile despite the seriousness of the situation. She was absolutely adorable and he was in deep shit because of it. Yet, he couldn’t seem to make himself care. “Wolf, not dog. You were bitten by a Lycan, not Lassie.”

Author Spotlight Kassanna Welcome to Club Lexx
I'm so happy to have Kassanna here with me today. If you read her books be prepared for a cold shower or have a hot hunk on standby. She truly puts the E in Erotic. Her books should come with a warning label that should state reading Kassanna's books can become highly addicting.Kassanna is also holding a giveaway of her most current release Keep Me Satisfied to one very lucky commenter. All you need do is leave her a comment on my blog and she will pick one of you as the winner. Easy right? So now that I got my 2 cents in, I am happy to present Kassanna.
Welcome to Club Lexx.I was a partier many, many years ago. If there was a party, I was there! Can we say hardcore party animal…seriously think Animal House (The movie). There wasn't a club, after hours joint or house party that I hadn't attended. One day it dawned on me that I was becoming rather well known in some rather unsavory circles. Not just that but "Oh Crap!" my grades were suffering. Sorry I forgot to add I was in college at the time and if you knew my mom you'd understand why I say "Uh Oh". That little mixed Sicilian woman could wield a wooden spoon like no other and yes even at my age I'm still scared of her. I digress…getting back to Club Lexx. I wanted to give you a bit of back story. Now fast forward a number of years. While traversing the black-top on the long drive back to my home I was listening to the radio. The windows were down and the wind was whipping through the car. Well an ad came on for a popular club in that area and it was enticing. I mean I haven't clubbed in years – I'm talking two digit numbers here. Needless to say I got excited and on the long drive with only the rhythm and the thumping base of the music to keep me company, I let my imagination run wild. Whip Me Real Good, my erotic novella was born at that moment. John's story spawned Adam's tale and hot damn a series was created. I've included a blurb to my new release, Keep Me Satisfied. I truly hope you enjoy reading about Adam as much as I enjoyed writing it. Between you and me I think Adam is a whole lot freakier than John. It's a pretty close tossup so I'll let you form your own opinion. I also want to share a little secret …Ready? One of my current WIP's is about Luther, John's brother, and he could definitely be a front runner in that freak contest. I'll let you know when his story comes out. Thanks for taking the time to meet me and a special shout out to Shannan for having me. Happy Reading my Friends.
Club Lexx, 2Alexandra "Lex" Lexington is on the run. She thought she could handle the stalker that dogged her every step. Realizing how wrong she was, she sought the protection of her brother, John. New problems arise, namely John's sexy security specialist, Adam Manchester. Buried desire for the infuriating man have risen to the surface and Lex institutes a plan of seduction that he'll never see coming.
But her stalker has found her again with deadly intentions.
Adam Manchester handles John's security for the Lexington Corp. He and John have been friends since childhood, and he knows the family well. Lex, she's special, and not just to her brothers, but to him. Just not in a brotherly fashion. Now John is asking him to look after her while he's away on business. Adam's problem—how does he watch the woman that he desires to possess without acting on those long denied feelings? Be Warned: anal sex, sex toys, public exhibition.
Excerpt:
"Gotcha." Thick arms grabbed her by the middle from behind, pulling her away from the edge.Lex didn't think about it. She reacted. Her boot came down hard on the in-step of the foot next to hers. She was abruptly let go and took a step forward, turning on the ball of her feet before she tumbled over the edge of the loading bay. She slipped to the side and out of the reach of the unknown person, and then drew herself to her full height, dropping her arms and forming fists in anticipation, ready to counter another attack. She looked right into the cool brown eyes of Adam."What the hell was that for?" Adam yelled, stretching out his leg and rotating his foot."I didn't know who was behind me. You could have been a damn stalker for all I knew. You should've said something." She relaxed her shoulders and hands."That wouldn't have been a problem if you'd stayed in the damn club." He took a menacing step toward her."Funny, last I checked John was gone and my daddy was dead. Sorry, but your opinion doesn't count." Lex held her ground and raised her chin."I think that's part of your problem. J.L. should have spanked you as a child. Instead he let you run around wild thinking you could do anything without any fear of the consequences." Adam moved closer."Spankings? Are you kidding? I feel sorry for any kid you have. As for daddy, let's leave him out of this. As I see it right now, you're not quite measuring up to the man." Her heart pounded in her chest and the breeze whipping through the loading dock chilled her damp skin."You always did have a sharp tongue. Maybe it's time someone to taught you a lesson." Adam was in her space so close she could see the pulsing vein at the side of his neck."Really? You and what army?" Lex looked up at him, meeting his gaze, and cocked an arched brow. She knew she'd gone too far when she felt the pinch of Adam's fingers on her sides. The wind ruffled her hair, pushing the short tresses into her face as he walked her backwards the few steps to pin her against the wall. He leaned in and rested his forearms against the concrete block on either side of her head. His pushed a hard thigh between her legs, forcing her to separate them. She lifted her eyes and met his. Her breathing was coming in short pants and her heart played racquetball with her ribs. She had only ever dreamed he would get this close to her. Lex bit down on the inside of her cheek, flinching from the pain. Not a dream. She went on the offensive.Closing her eyes and grabbing his face, she pulled his head down as she rose up on her toes and pressed her lips to his. She licked at his lips and slid her hands around his neck, one hand rubbing the silky hairs at the back of his head. She felt his momentary hesitation before he gave into the kiss. On a sigh, his lips parted and she pressed her tongue forward, slipping it into his mouth. Darting back and forth, deeper into the warm recesses of his mouth, she tasted the hint of peppermint on his breath before pulling back. She nibbled on his bottom lip with her teeth. Vibrations rumbled in his chest from the groans escaping through his lips, and Lex's body reacted to the material that bunched and stretched between them. Her nipples ached as they became sharp points beneath the thin cloth of her bra. Adam's hands moved to grip her shoulders and she felt his fingertips digging into her soft skin through her shirt. He wedged his hard thigh against her pussy, levering her higher, pushing the seam of her pants and panties between the damp recess of her nether lips.

Pick Me Up Monday
Now here is my idea of a cowboy. Yippie Ki Yay!
Hope everyone had a great week and even better weekend. I am pleased to announce the winner of my most recent giveaway. Elizabeth won a copy of Beloved Wizard. Congratulations and I hope you enjoy the story. I am putting the finishing touches on the second book tentatively called The Knights Druid and started working on the third and last installment of the Knights of Excalibur.I am also hammering out the details for the third book in the Dark Breed series. This is Zeke's book and I think he will be a lot of fun to work with since he already is bugging me about what he wants done with his story. Boy, these Enforcers are a bossy bunch. Good thing they happen to be so good looking Lol! Though the book starts in Atlantis a lot of the action will take place in Las Vegas so you will be getting a lot more insight on life in sin city.
In other news this weeks Author Spotlight shines on fellow Evernight Publishing author Cassanne Dewight and her latest release. I am very excited since she will be doing a blog post and having a great giveaway for everyone to participate in.
I want to thank everyone of you for your support to me and the authors I spotlight every week. I love your responses and encourage you to email me anytime you may have a question at my website www.shannanalbright.weebly.com be sure to leave an email for me to respond back to.
Until next week have an awesome week everyone.

Author Spotlights Nicole Severn
Welcome local Las Vegan and good friend Nicole Severn. I am tickled to have her here today on my blog and I must say her latest release really blew me away! The best part is she is giving away a free copy of her book Let Me Out. Just leave a comment below, telling her who your fantasy man/woman is and why :) She will be picking the winner in 72 hours so good luck. Here is a little about her book.Let Me Out blurb:
For a psychopath, murder is addictive. With every remorseful drop of blood spilled, the violent whispers in her head are silenced, but to Adelaide Banvard's disappointment, only for a short amount of time. Used as an assassin, the schizophrenic monster inside her head grows stronger the longer Christian Wren takes advantage of her demons. Knowing this life will have her behind bars or six feet under, Adelaide wants out by any means necessary in order to save her sanity and her life. For a federal agent, revenge is even sweeter. ATF Agent Marcus Grant has declared war on Wren after the death of a fellow agent and forces his way into the weapon manufacturer's entourage to seek his revenge as an undercover bodyguard. Fully aware that men like Wren never risk getting their hands dirty, Marcus sets his sights on the first woman who has captivated him in a long time, Wren's personal bodyguard, Adelaide Banvard. Adelaide realizes the man who can put her behind bars for life is the opportunity she needs to overcome her bloodthirsty desires, but can she convince Marcus she's not the killer he's after?
Excerpt for Let Me Out
It seemed neither the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms nor Agent Marcus Grant were concerned with security. It'd been too easy to get his address from ATF's records and Marcus hadn't invested in an alarm system. Adelaide wanted a challenge. Homey, she thought, tracing her fingertips over the back of the soft leather couch. She'd imagined breaking into an agent's house would be harder, that there would be some type of risk involved. There was even a hope she hadn't been clever enough to throw Christian off her trail. A pang of disappointment settled in her chest. Her unplanned escape from the mansion tonight so far had turned out to be for naught. She needed to know who Marcus Grant was, where he came from, what made him special, but very little told her that somebody lived here. No photos. Nothing to suggest a hobby of some kind, not even paint on the walls. Adelaide made her way upstairs. There had to be evidence of a life before Marcus had pushed his way into hers something she could use for her own benefit. The office was the logical place to search first, but overwhelming curiosity pulled her toward the bedroom. People hid secrets in bedrooms. Her eyes roamed over the space, taking in a four-drawer dresser, a hamper full of dirty clothes, a door that most likely led into a walk-in closet, a nightstand and finally the bed. With no headboard, sheets ruffled and stained pillow cases, the bed kept nothing from Adelaide's imagination. This bed got a lot of use. She walked to one side, shoving her hands beneath the mattress. Nothing. She did the same to the other side and came up empty handed. She had to find something. Her freedom depended on it. Adelaide bent down to search beneath the bed, catching sight of a pair of tan workboots on the other side. Her heart nearly jumped out of her chest, but Adelaide forced herself to breathe evenly. She'd burn through the sedative too fast if she didn't calm down, and, realizing the boots were empty, she was able to lower her heart rate. You need my help. The monster was never really gone, but only a soft echo remained long enough for Adelaide to understand its demands. It wanted out. She shook her head out of habit and straightened. An arm wrapped around her neck from behind and she reacted automatically. She threw her elbow back. Hard. Her elbow connected with a set of masculine ribs, but he didn't let go. Adelaide did it again and this time she got herself free. Nobody knew she was here. Spinning to confront her attacker, she froze as the barrel of a gun pressed lightly to her forehead. "I thought we had a deal," he said. Adelaide's chest rose and fell in gasps. Hopes that her sedative would last longer faded as the monster slowly began to appear to her right, a ghost transitioning back into the world of the living. Surprise! it yelped with a smile. It jumped up and down like a child, twirling in circles. Pieces of the monster's hair brushed Adelaide's face, passing right through her. Did you miss me? Adelaide kept her eyes on the man in front of her despite her desire to just kill him and continue on with her search. The shadows hid his face, but she didn't have to guess who he was. She hadn't been clever enough after all. "I told you not to hunt without me." He reached for the lamp on the nightstand and turned it on. Christian righted himself, lowering the gun. Hunt. As if she was some type of animal. Flashes of her days in the ring assaulted her. She had been an animal back then. Despite her past, she refused to react to his words, but his implication was steadily increasing her adrenaline. He'd tried to convince her the urges were normal for someone with her condition, but she'd never really believed it. Taking one night a month to release the pent up anxiety, to kill some unknown homeless man, wasn't normal. Not even by her standards. Those years in the compound had taken her mind and her humanity. "This isn't your usual taste." Christian stepped into her, merely centimeters away, but his eyes surveyed the room. "So what about this place so important that you had to hide it from me?" She shook her head in response. "You think I came unprepared?" Adelaide should have guessed he knew whose house this was. "What I can't figure out is why you're here." His breath was warm on her cheek. "He's nothing to you." The monster screamed at the contact. It attacked Christian, passing through his flesh and bone. Adelaide enjoyed the visual performance of living out her fantasies and she felt a smile lifting the corners of her mouth. Christian stepped in closer. He was too close and she tried to back away. The bed hit the back of her thighs, cutting off her escape. Lowering his mouth to her right ear and gripping her biceps with both hands, he whispered to her. "She can't hurt me, Adelaide. And neither can you." Pulling back, he merely watched for her to react, but Adelaide wouldn't give him a damn thing. She kept her gaze steady with his, but the hallucination circling to her left was slowly wearing her down. He's there, my love, it whispered. Just take what's yours. Make him pay for all those times he locked us up. Adelaide's hands twitched. She fisted them, digging her nails into the palms of her hands. She couldn't kill him yet. She needed him. The reminder made a knot form in the pit of her stomach. Breaking contact with her, Christian leaned to his left and opened the nightstand drawer, shuffling the items within. "I'm sure Marcus would have a problem with you rummaging through his things." None of the articles seemed to interest him and he turned back to her. "Do what you came here for." Without warning, he walked toward the bedroom door. Adelaide's chest relaxed the further he made it across the room. "And Adelaide," he said from behind, his toner lowering an octave. She refused to acknowledge him, afraid one twitch would give her monster reason to act. "I don't need to remind you that I was the one who saved your life in Mexico. Not Marcus."

Now get comfy and meet my friend and Authro Nicole Severn.
Do you do anything to get you into the zone to write?
First, I have to clean. I can't sit down to concentrate on writing if I can smell the garbage or the dishes rotting away. Second, music. I make playlists within iTunes for ever novella or novel I work on. The songs apply to the plotline or character by lyrics or emotion. From there, I just have to get my husband to stop talking to me long enough I can write!
Which authors inspire your writing? Stephanie Meyer was the first. If you don't believe me, check out this post on Siobhan Muir's blog. She inspired me to start writing, but authors such as Carolyn Jewel (romance) and Patrick Lee (suspense) put plotlines in my head.
What is your favorite book, character and why? I have a couple favorites of each :) My first favorite book is Wuthering Heights. I'm addicted to dark romance, but The Princess Bride is full of adventure, romance, and RUOSs. My favorite character would have to be one of the characters from my own work. Taigen Banvard gets my motor running.
Do you prefer to write erotic or sweet?
I prefer a sensual level of romance. While I'm not opposed to reading erotic, my style of writing and confidence level just doesn't go there.
Which famous person, living or dead, are you drawn to?
Daniel Craig. Need I say more?
Where do you see yourself in five years? I see myself with Janet Reid, literary agent and a publishing house who believes in my work as much as I do.
Finish this sentence: I know I've made it when_______________?
I've already made it. This year has been awesome. I've achieved the goal of getting published after 5 long years of work, starting my own business, scoring a job as an editor with a great publisher and accomplishing my weight goals. Stick a fork in me; I'm happy.
What advice would you give aspiring writers?
I'm going to give you the quote I live by in my writing career. "Become a professional writer: meet deadlines, educate yourself about the market, network, refine and apply your skills, complete and market projects." – Maria Connor from the RWR.
What do you see yourself writing in the future?
I'm primarily focusing on my suspense novels. I write romance, but I LOVE suspense.
If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
Patience. That's not a superpower, but I desperately pray for it every day!
What time of the day are you at your best to write? Night. I'm not a night owl because I work two full-time jobs, so I go to sleep at 9PM, but once I'm home, I write like mad.
And now for something completely different…
What do you look at first with an attractive man or woman, face, body or smile? BODY. Yum...
Explain your perfect day.
Waking up at 8:00 (I have specific happy wake up time), go for a run, shower, do some editing during the day and write by night. No interruptions. No one to talk to. Just me.
What is the most decadent desert you can't say no to? Decadent usually means chocolate in my book, but I'm allergic to that :) Don't worry, I still eat it. A lot. Raw cookie dough. I can't even finish making cookies before I sit down with the bowl and just eat it by the spoonful.
Do you have a favorite holiday what is it and what makes it special to you?
I LOVE Halloween. There is no special reason. I don't do anything on Halloween, but I fall in love with the decorations every year.
What key words describe you best?
Determined. Blunt. Crazy (according to my husband and close friends).
