I come from the north of England and write funny children's books set in space. My debut novel, The Astronaut's Apprentice, was described as "laugh-out-loud funny in places... a fun and unusual book" by the Bookbag.

A brief sexist aside in The Force Awakens (MILD SPOILERS)

It’s a long time since I’ve done a blog, and completely unprecedented for me to blog about a) sexism or b) Star Wars. Today, I find myself blogging about both.

Basically, there was a line in The Force Awakens which annoyed me, because I thought it was a textbook example of thoughtless sexism.
