Author, author... Risky Return by Nicole Helm

...read all about it !!

Welcome, so great to have you here with us.  Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Thank you so much for having me! My name is Nicole and I write contemporary romance for Entangled Indulgence, Harlequin Superromance and HarlequinE, and Samhain Publishing. I live in Missouri with my husband and two young sons and love baseball, barns and blue collar heroes.

Do real life events find their way into your stories?

No, not really. Sometimes a real life event might spur an idea, but usually it's all "what if."

Do you ever mimic family members or people you know when you choose characters?

No. That would be really weird when it came time for the main characters to...kiss. Occasionally I'll use a tiny piece of a person's personality I know in real life. A small event, a silly obsession, an interesting phrase they use, but you'll never see real people gracing the pages of one of my books.

Do you find yourself going back to the same inspiration for each story or is it always something different?

It's usually different for each book, though there are threads that tend to pop up in all my books, relationship with grandparents, finding oneself, the idea of home.

When do you write?  Early morning? During the day sometime or all day?  After the kids go to bed?
I write whenever I can. While the kids are sleeping or playing with their grandparents, while they're entranced with a TV show, when I should be doing household chores. ;)

How do you feel about marketing your book?

I love telling people about my book. I could talk endlessly about the characters, the events, etc, but when it comes to telling people to buy, paying attention to ranks, and a lot of the hard sell techniques, I tend to shy away. If it's not something I'd respond to as a reader, I try not to do it as an author.

What social sites do you feel work best for marketing?

This is a great question and I have no answer. Honestly, I don't know what works. I use Twitter and Pinterest because I love them, and I'm on Facebook because for all it's flaws I find it fairly easy to use. I have no idea if any of those are really effective. I just do what I enjoy and hope something clicks.

Do you like to pitch stories to your publisher or do you wait until you have written the story and have a final manuscript to turn in?
I prefer to write on proposal, pitching synopsis/few chapters to my publisher. It helps me organize my schedule and maintain the pace I need.

Is there any other genre that you would love to try writing?  If so, what is it?
I can't imagine not writing contemporary romance. It's everything I love, but I did start off writing historical romances and if I ever got over my fear of getting an historical detail wrong, I have a few historical ideas I'd definitely try.

Do you always/ever see yourself as the heroine/hero when you write a story?
No. To me they're real people (except for the whole fictional part). If I'm deciding what the heroine had to eat for dinner, I'm thinking about what she wants to eat, not me. Same goes for what she likes/hates about the hero. It's all about her character, not mine.

Just for fun, I have a few personal questions,
Favorite 5
1)      Favorite Male Actor  - Chris Hemsworth. The voice. The looks. Ahhh.
2)      Favorite vehicle - my dream vehicle is a tractor ;)
3)      Favorite way to relax - reading
4)      Favorite ice cream - mint chocolate chip
5)      Favorite outfit - It's hard to resist a good pair of sweatpants. ;)
And for a bonus:  If you could pick any place in the world to live, besides where you are now, where would it be?  (Of course, without the hindrance of jobs or money needed)  A farm in the middle of nowhere Iowa.

Author, author... Ripe for Trouble by Autumn Piper

... read all about it !!

RIPE FOR TROUBLE
Autumn Piper

Blurb: The biggest mistake she didn’t quite make just sauntered back into her life.   When Ivy Leeds takes a publicity job in her hometown, few things have changed…but Ridley, the bad boy of her graduating class, has cleaned up his act. Or so everyone else thinks. After hearing him and his friend practicing pickup lines, she has her doubts.   Ridley Tucker can hardly believe his eyes when Ivy, the president of the Brainiac Club, comes back to town. Some things never change—she’ll barely give him the time of day, and she still looks as good as she did that night at Prom. Living in a small town means avoiding someone is nearly impossible, and those most worthy of avoidance turn up in such awkward places…
Content Warning: High school flame revisited plus reformed bad-boy equals combustion suitable for adults only.

Excerpt:

He felt like a fool, standing in the hallway just past the ladies’ room, but this was one of those desperate times.
She came out right between the songs he’d played. Perfect.
“Ivy.”
She whirled and faced him. And sighed at him like he was a piece of junk mail. “Yes, Ridley?”
He pushed off the wall and moved close to her as Complicated began playing. “Remember this song? When we danced to it?”
She squeezed her eyes shut like her head hurt. A lot. “Yes.”
He moved close enough he could smell her, a bit of melon coming off her hair, and something vanilla. “I remember it too. It was…it was a good dance, right?”
She tried to step back, but he put his arms around her and looked down into those blue, blue eyes. “If you say stop, I will. I promise.” He moved a little with the music and she stiffened. He kept swaying, and pressed closer, the music’s rhythm pulsing in his chest. Like last time, she curved into him, soft and perfect. Jesus, was it possible she felt better in his arms now than she had that night at prom?
He wanted to bury his hands in that big twisty bun, free that miles-long hair, but she’d probably get mad. He moved his hands down and clasped her ass. Damn.
She groaned. “Ridley.” She pulled back and looked up at him. “This is a bad—”
No time to waste. He laid one on her. Hot, hard, and hungry, to let her know how crazy she made him. She tasted like beer, felt like the Fourth of July, all hot and explosive.
She broke the kiss and turned her head to the side, pushing out of his arms. “Stop. God. You taste like straight tequila. You’re drunk, aren’t you?”
He shook his head. No way was he drunk. Completely capable of consent. “No.”
“Gotta appreciate that irony, right?” She stepped back. “Sorry, but ‘I can’t take advantage of you when you’re under the influence.’ Turnabout’s fair play.”
She rushed off as the final strains of their song wound down.

Author, author....Hollywood Temptation by Scarlet Wilson

... read all about it !!

Interview with Selena Harris – heroine of Hollywood Temptation
What brings you to Hollywood, Selena?
It’s a funny kind of story.  I’m part Scot, part Texan.  I came to the USA for the job opportunities.  And I had a job, then kind of lost it when everyone else lost theirs.  I’ve been trying to find something else but keep meeting the same people at every interview I go to.  It seems that every barista at Starbucks currently has an MBA.
Why have you stayed?
I love it here.  The weather and people are awesome.  And I met someone who told me just to move in and have a good time.  So I did.  Until the visa bill came in and he threw me out.
How did you get your injury?
Mark threw one of my Christian Louboutin’s out of the apartment window.  It kind of took me by surprise and knocked me out.
Were you angry with him?
Not really.  Well, maybe.  Once I realised he’d damaged my shoes.
What about Seacliffe clinic?
I was lucky.  I went there to get my head stitched, forgot I’d maxed out my visa and needed a way to my bill.  Colt Travers decided to let me temp here for a month.
What do you make of Colt Travers?
Doctor Temptation?  He smoulders.  Constantly.  Particularly when he’s around me.  I’m counting down the weeks until I’m not officially an employee anymore.  Because, after that?  Who knows what could happen between us.
How will you keep your hands to yourself in the meantime?
Superglue.  Or I’ll sit on them.  Or I’ll imagine Helen the owners face.  She’s on to me already.  Or I might have to resort to taking cold showers.  If I don’t,  I’ll end up in the spa hot tub and hope that someone will join me….

Hollywood Temptation

About the book:  Hollywood surgeon Colt Travers needs a new receptionist ASAP.  When the adorable—and completely broke—Selena Harris comes in needing stitches, he takes a risk and hires her on the spot. She can pay off her bill, and he won’t have to answer the phone anymore. They're opposites in every way, and she's exactly what he doesn’t want in a woman—impulsive, carefree, and amusing. He's trying to resist her, but the longer she's around, the further he sinks into temptation.

Selena never meant to get herself in such deep financial straits. LA has way too much temptation, from high-end shopping to gorgeous men, and now her life is in chaos. But Colt is different—responsible and noble—and although their chemistry is off the charts, he’s keeping her at arm’s length. She's determined to win his trust--and his heart--but will the secrets she's desperately trying to hide ruin their chance for a big Hollywood happy ending?

  Excerpt:
Excerpt:  A car skidded to a halt outside. He stood up and walked over to the window. It wasn’t the type of car that normally appeared in their parking lot. Not the usual parking spot, either. It was usually cars-for-the-stars around here. But this was a run-of-the-mill car. He watched as a blonde bombshell emerged from the car, pressing something to her head. There was a parking
lot directly to her left. It was clearly marked. She had practically blocked the driveway parked there. Another woman who thought the rules were made for everyone else.
She looked upward and he caught his breath. Even in her disheveled state he could see she was a knockout. Blond hair around her shoulders, lovely bone structure—the one thing a plastic surgeon always noted—lightly tanned skin, curves in all the right places, and fuchsia-pink lips. His favoritecolor on a woman.
He watched as she struggled to straighten her blouse andskirt with one hand, a signature handbag weighing her down as she continued to press something to her head. She stumbled. He winced. The last thing they needed wassomeone to fall on their way into the clinic and sue them. Bad publicity and lawsuits were not what they needed right now.
Something was caught around her ankle. He could see thebright scrap catching on the stiletto heel of her shoe. She stopped and dumped her bag on the ground then bent down to retrieve the wayward piece of material. Her head shot back up quickly, glancing at all the windows in the clinic. Her face was scarlet.
It wasn’t. It couldn’t be.
Yes, it was.
Colt couldn’t stop the hearty laugh he let out as she bentdown and stuffed the pink thong into her bag.

Author, author.... Still Photo by @KimHarnes + GIVEAWAY!

...read all about it !!

Today we have the pleasure of interviewing one of the Characters of Still Photo ! Please welcome... Jess Waterford Did you ever think that your life would end up being in a book?Well, I always figured I’d be a world famous photographer and the wife of an All Star baseball player, so someone was going to write about me eventually. What are your favorite scenes in your book: the action, the dialog or the romance?I think it has to be the dialog. Even though he’s a great kisser, my boyfriend Brody always has the right things to say.Did you have a hard time convincing your author to write any particular scenes for you?She had the most trouble talking about my mom and how she treated me when I was younger. It was difficult for her to see me go through that, but it was important to the story to be told.Do you like the way the book ended?Best. Ending. Ever.Would you be interested in a sequel, if your writer was so inclined?Hmm. I can’t imagine a sequel right now. But Kim has lots of ideas. What do you do for a living? When I’m not wasting the day away in school, I’m a photographer’s assistant for Starlight Fashion Magazine. What is your greatest fear?Having nobody to believe in me.What do you wear when you go to sleep?Anything that’s comfortable, as long as it’s not pink. What is your most prized possession? The baseball cap my dad bought for me for my birthday.Who was your first girlfriend/boyfriend and what do you like most about them?Brody Campbell has been my best friend since I was seven. He’s the only one to whom I can tell absolutely everything. What is something no one knows about you?  Why do you keep it a secret?  And what would happen if everyone found out about it?Well, if I tell you, it won’t be a secret, now, will it?What do you find most appealing in men/women?Honesty.What do you find most unappealing in men/women?Thong underwear. What is your vivid memory of your mother and father? They’re all pretty vivid, and most of them aren’t pretty at all. What word makes you the happiest?Brody. What is your least favorite word?Anything that slid off my mother’s tongue. What turns you on?Silvery blue eyes and a baseball cap on backward. What turns you off?People who use my full name. What sound or noise do you love?Words of affirmation. What sound or noise do you hate?Words of condemnation. What other profession would you like to try?I think I could try my hand at cooking. Brody loves to eat. What would you not like to do?I could never be a model. It’s hard enough to look at them through a camera lens.Do you believe in ghosts/evil spirits/mysticism? I think we all have our ghosts. Don’t you?Are you a morning person or a night owl?Mornings suck.Would you ever use a voodoo doll to hurt anyone? Can it have flaming red hair, a drink in one hand, and a lit Camel in the other? I might stab a needle into that. What is your most favorite memory? The day I met Brody.Have you ever gone alone to either dinner or a movie? What about a vacation?Does a working vacation count? Jamaica, Baby! What do you admire about your parents?I don’t admire squat about my mom. My dad, on the other hand, did pretty well raising me on his own from the time I was nine. What’s the worst/weirdest thing you did as a kid?  The worst thing I did as a kid? Nothing thatbad, I guess. Jess, thanks so much for being with us today !! *   *   *   *   *

Evernight Teen
Upper YA Contemporary Suspense Romance

Evernight Editor's Pick !
"This story is absolutely brilliant.  It is the best thing I've read as a fiction editor."  -JC Chute

Jess Waterford's mother is evil.  Since she took off seven years ago--just days after Jess's ninth birthday--without so much as a wave goodbye, Jess has always wondered what happened to her.  And despite the end of her mother's mental and physical abuse, the memories and the scars still remain.  Jess conceals the hurt within by practicing her photography, and by spending as much time as her dad will allow with her baseball star boyfriend, Brody Campbell.

Determined to make use of her new camera, Jess dives into photographing everything in sight.  But periodically the resulting prints are flawed, so ever so slightly:  a smudge on a tree trunk; a blemish in the bus window.  These imperfections are not as random as they may seem, however, and Brody and Jess soon discover together that each of these pictures combine to form another image -- the grisly image of a murder scene, with Jess's mother as the victim.

As the  new photograph takes shape, Jess's desire to complete it consumes her, and Brody's health begins to deteriorate.  Torn between her quest to reveal her mother's killer and her continued worry over Brody's failing health, Jess finally finds the last piece to the puzzle, and the answer sends her world spiraling into depths from which she may never recover.

Excerpt: Brody's temple began to pound with each beat of his heart and he tried to push the pain away with his fingertips.  Try as he might, the throbbing continued to grow and he unwillingly exhaled an agonized moan. "Are you okay, Brody?"  Miss Wolfe, who probably didn't want to witness a second apocalyptic episode in as many days approachedhis desk. Her voice was barely audible to Brody.  The pain had grown rapidly and it was now so intense it pulsed bright screams across his forehead and down his neck. “Oh, God,” he mumbled and pressed his face against the desk. “Oh, God, what is happening to me?” He stood, but his head protested and his vision blurred. “Make it stop. Please make it stop.” He pleaded to anyone who would listen to put him out of his misery. His head shrieked again. Or did that noise come from him? “Please,” he begged. “Can’t somebody please make it stop?” Brody stammered and stumbled aimlessly, positive his head would soon explode and end his suffering. His leg banged into someone’s desk. He didn’t feel it, but it was hard enough to move it several meters across the floor. He vaguely heard someone protest as he stepped on her foot. “Jessica.” Someone whispered her name. He didn’t know who’d done it or where they were but it sounded as if it were inside his own throbbing head. “Jessica.” Was he calling for her? Was someone going to get her? Would she be coming to help him? And could she make him better? Just when he thought the pain couldn’t get any worse, another squeal of hurt detonated within his left eyebrow and buckled his knees. “Can’t someone please make it stop?” He implored one last time to anyone who may still be within earshot. He crawled across the linoleum, oblivious to anything but the searing sting like a white-hot sword twisting in his temple. Exhausted and spent, he curled into the fetal position on the floor and waited for death to come and mercifully take him away, because he was sure that was the only thing that would release him from this torture. His skull opened and whiteness entered. The warm, bright light comforted him and he reached for it.  “Jessica,” his head whispered again.    About the Author:  Kim Harnes learned to read at the age of two and never looked back.  Growing up as an avid lover of horror novels, campfire stories, and the obsession with ghost towns and cemeteries, it only made sense that her own writing would incorporate the paranormal, the bizarre, and the unexplained.  She is an award-winning song writer, an Active member of SCBWI, and lives with her family and numerous pets in Sparks, Nevada.   Website:   http://www.kimharnes.comFacebook:  https://www.facebook.com/kimharnesauthorTwitter:  @kimharnes   *   *   *   *   *

Cat sat at one of the foldaway tables and sipped her wine. A pleasant breeze rolled off the loch and made the candlelight shimmer. So much laughter and chatter whooshed round her, and again her heart hung heavy. Could she give up all she had here for a new life in Edinburgh? Did she have the courage to try? What if Fiona had been wrong in her will and given Cat more credit than she truly deserved?
Ian marched toward her, pulled her glass from her hand, and set it on the table. “Come.” With a firm but gentle grip, he tugged her out of the chair.
“Where?”
“I need you to save me.” He whirled her round and pulled her close to his hard-muscled body. She pressed her palms to his chest. The heat under her fingers shot straight into her center. He wrapped his arms round her waist and eased them onto the dance floor in time to the slow rhythm of the music.
Cat laughed. “You, a big, braw lad, need me, a wee lass, to rescue you? I find that hard to believe.” But, she was ever so grateful for whatever sent him to her. They’d always been friendly with each other, sort of like her relationship with Ewan, except…not.
He spun her round so she could see the other side of the dance floor. “See those lasses flirting with the MacDougall brothers?”
Women with tight clothes and high-pitched laughs dangled over the makeshift bar. “What about them?”
“Two of them are trying to lay claim to me.”
“And?”
“I don’t do romantic relationships.”
“What?” Handsome, smart, strong. He had it all.

Against the Wall is a prequel novelette for the Officer Mine series. Next book coming soon! Excerpt: Great. Just flipping wonderful. Could her night get any better? Michelle Thomas eyed the flashing red and blue lights in her rearview mirror and carefully pulled off to the side of the road. It took all the self-control she could muster and a few deep breaths not to smack the steering wheel to vent some frustration while the motorcycle cop took his sweet time approaching the window of her little Honda. With her luck, she’d hit the horn and he’d take her to jail for being a jerk. Tonight just sucked. Not only had her ex-boyfriend Gavin shown up at her apartment—something she was on the edge of getting a restraining order to prevent in the future—but Kristy had called and changed their night out from a club near her house to some dive bar across town. At least, she assumed it was a dive bar. What other kind of bar could it be with a name like Tom’s Tavern? Now, not only had Gavin once again creeped her out, she couldn’t even properly drown her sorrows. She’d have to take an expensive cab home if she did. Although the price of a cab might be worth it after her week from hell. The cop tapping on her window wasn’t likely to give a crap about any of that. And she wouldn’t to grovel to avoid a ticket—that would just add insult to injury at this point. Begging out of a ticket had never worked for her anyway. “Can I help you?” she said in a sickly sweet fake voice. “License, registration and proof of insurance, please,” he said in a deep baritone, words so practiced he sounded bored. “Do you know why I pulled you over?” Yeah, right. Like she was going to offer up ideas and get herself who-knew-how-many tickets. “You had nothing better to do?” “I clocked you at seventeen miles per hour over the speed limit.” “Of course you did.” “Excuse me?” He leaned toward her window and pushed down his sunglasses. She caught a glimpse of a strong jaw and blue eyes against a dark head of hair that was mussed from his motorcycle helmet. “I said, of course you did. Because that’s just how shitty my day is going.” She knew she shouldn’t mouth off, but she just couldn’t seem to stop the flow of words. Something inside of her had hit a boiling point. “Figures I’d get pulled over, too.” Was it her imagination or did his mouth twitch just a bit at her comment? “Well, your day is going to get even worse if you don’t find your license, registration and proof of insurance.” She cursed under her breath and fished through her glove compartment. Three expired proofs of insurance later, she found the correct one. But her registration proved elusive. She handed him what she had and then peeked out the window. “I have my registration from”—she scanned the date—”two years ago.” “I’m going to have to ask you to step out of the car while I check these.” Just her luck. Could the night get any worse? She exited the vehicle and then watched the police officer walk back to his motorcycle. The flashing lights to warn oncoming traffic of the potential hazard did nothing to distract her from the tight ass of the man walking away from her, nor from the powerful width of his shoulders. He was tall—over six feet. And built. The officer knew his way around a gym. She resisted the urge to lean back against her car while she waited for him to check her information. Dirt coated its surface from the last rainstorm. Washing it this week just hadn’t seemed important. She’d spent the week avoiding Gavin and doing what she could to enjoy her last summer of freedom. Two weeks until she started graduate school. Until then, her only responsibilities were entertaining herself and showing up somewhat on time for her part-time barista job that was less than a hop, skip and a jump from her new apartment just off campus. Most of the summer had disappeared far too quickly, sucked away by Gavin and his dramatics. What remained would be her one taste of real freedom from the constant stress of classes since she’d started college. Whoever thought you could graduate in four years without summer classes hadn’t double majored. But now she was done—free. For the first time in her twenty-three years. No parents to see on a daily basis. No classes to attend. No boyfriend to worry over or spend time with. “Are you aware that your copy of the registration is expired?” His gravelly tone sounded neither sympathetic nor annoyed. He could have been talking about the weather, for crying out loud. She was sick of this. This was her two weeks. Her time. This guy wasn’t taking any more of it, no matter how well his uniform fit and how freaking stunning his features were behind his dark Aviator sunglasses. “No shit, Sherlock,” she said. His jaw ticked, and her bravery faltered. “Look at my plates. There’s a sticker there.” “Those can be stolen.” “Doesn’t your system tell you that my plates are fine?” she bit out, taking a step toward him. She was so sick of bullies. This man wasn’t bullying her, too. Cop or no. “Yes.” Was it just her imagination or did a glimmer of amusement touch his lips? a Rafflecopter giveaway Author Bio: Andie writes sexy erotic romance and erotica stories that push boundaries. When she’s not writing (or reading!), she can usually be found daydreaming or attempting a new recipe. She thinks that life should require happily ever afters. And since she doesn’t make the rules of life, she instead applies this philosophy to the worlds she can control–the ones in her books.

Barbeque and Cowboys
I love barbecue.  Unfortunately, I didn’t eat much barbecue growing up. We had a very old grill and my dad said it was a pain to clean. On a rare occasion I was treated with a barbecued hot dog, hamburger or even steak. I’m a country girl. It seems like everyone in my extended family barbecues and I was stuck with a dad who didn’t care for it.
Since barbecue meals were so far and few between I had to come up with something else I could make for myself. I just found the grill a little intimidating. And yes, the old thing really was a pain to clean. So I came across this no mess and no fuss recipe. I’m not too handy in the kitchen. In my opinion the slow cooker ground beef barbecue is no fail.
Do you want to snag your own cowboy? I suggest barbecue!
Is your mouth watering yet? No? Then scroll down and look at the two hunks on my cover. Now I know your mouth is watering. Here is my recipe to satisfy your barbecue craving. If you want a cowboy fix too you’ll have to buy Perfect Ride.
Slow Cooker Ground Beef Barbecue
Ingredients:
Recipe makes 20 servings (but you can easily adjust to the number of servings you want)
3 pounds lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
5 stalks celery, finely chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 1/2 cups ketchup

Directions
Place ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, and cook until brown, breaking up the meat as it cooks, about 15 minutes. Drain excess grease.
Place the cooked meat, onion, garlic, celery, salt, black pepper, cider vinegar, mustard, brown sugar, and ketchup into a slow cooker, and stir to combine. Set the cooker on Low, and cook for 6 to 8 hours.

Perfect Ride
  Blurb:
Professional bull rider Garrett Anderson lives for the next town, the next trophy and his next ride. When he rolls into Sheridan, Wyoming, the last thing he expected was to meet a cowboy like Cole—a man who corrals his heart and leaves him aching for a love he never realized he’d been missing.
Surrounded by hate, Cole Richards wasn’t prepared for Garrett’s passion or the longing their night together leaves him with. But when he’s shot, and stuck in his hospital bed, Cole watches every second of Garrett’s disastrous ride, and is heartbroken when the battered and bruised bull rider leaves town.
Attacked again and knee-deep in trouble, Cole wants only Garett at his side. But can his bull rider trade fame and fortune for a lifetime with his one perfect ride?

“There he is.” Cole put a foot up on the lower slat of the fence and rested his arms on the upper. “Take a good look at him while he’s standing still. You won’t see him like this in the ring.”
He eyed the bull with respect. He stood out from the rest of the top ten. Spitfire was big, over sixteen hundred pounds of pure, cream-colored power, topped with foot-and-a-half long horns. The way Spitfire eyed him and began to dig at the ground like he wanted to test the limits of the temporary fence sent a shiver up his spine. He’d have to be careful with this one. He gave Cole a sidelong look and studied the man as he watched his bull.
He liked the sandy-blond stubble dusting the man’s chin and cheek. Liked the way his lips were wide and meaty and showed a bit of wear at the edges, betraying either late-night trysts or the tendency to chew on them as he worried. Garrett voted for the latter. Oh, he could picture Cole bent over taking it from another man easily enough, but the thought made him instantly jealous, so he squelched the notion. With nowhere to set his still full plate, he perched it on the top of a post. “You keep a pretty close watch on him?”
Cole nodded. “He’s a rebellious one. An escape artist, too. A little too smart for his britches. Someday he’ll end up in the slaughterhouse if he’s not careful.”
Garrett laughed and slapped the dust off his thigh, the motion garnering Cole’s attention. The heat of Cole’s gaze flushed him warm all over. He couldn’t help but engage in a little appreciation of his own. His tongue wetted his lips as he took in the round curve of Cole’s ass, his narrow hips, up his wide, work-chiseled chest, and finally his face. The man’s gaze blazed hotter as Garrett brushed his hand closer to his groin. “That’d be a waste if you ask me.”
Cole swallowed and snapped his attention back up, his eyes shining. “Yes, it would be. A real shame.”

Blitz: BEAR WITH ME by Miranda Stowe

When heat flooded her from head to toe, her sex cramped and went moist. He dropped his attention even lower to her breasts where they strained against her shirt, the nipples poking out the front of the pale cotton.   A hoarse groan left his throat. Lifting his hand slowly, he reached out a single digit and barely brushed the back of his index finger over the thin material. If he’d have licked her bare, straining nipple and then bitten it, Rhea didn’t think she would’ve felt the impact of his touch any more intensely than she did now. With a moan, she threw back her head and squeezed her eyes shut. Heat pulsed between her legs. She wanted him there. Right now. Inside her. Deep, so deep inside her.   As if reading her mind, Brick asked, “Have you ever wondered what my cock would feel like buried in your pussy?” His voice was low and raspy. It shot another sizzling current of electricity through her.   Meeting his gaze, she opened her mouth to tell him—beg, demand, whatever it took—to take off his clothes and get inside of her that very instant. But her mother’s voice at the top of the stairs made her jolt and wrench herself away from him.   He stepped back too and glanced away guiltily, just as Riley Griffin popped her head out of the stairwell and joined them in the den. “Rhea, dinner’s ready if you’re—oh! Brick, you’re already here. Good. You’re welcome to dinner too, dear.”   He cleared his throat and bowed his head. “Thanks, Mrs. G. I’d love some. Can’t feed a bear like me enough, you know.”

“Well, both of you come on up.”   When Brick moved to follow her as Rhea’s mother started back up the stairs, Rhea hesitated, glancing at Brick’s perfect form. Now that he was all the way across the room, she didn’t want him quite as badly.   And it struck her what had just happened. Shit. Her mating heat really was starting.   “Mom?” she called, her voice trembling slightly. “I think...I think I should have my first injection now.”   Brick tensed and paused, but he didn’t turn to look at her.   Eyes wide with surprise, her mother did turn around, though. “Oh! Really? Damn, I wish females could smell another female’s heat. I would’ve already known that. I’m sorry, honey. Let’s get you taken care of, then.” As she came back down the steps, she glanced at Brick.   He refused to meet her gaze as he shrugged. “I must be too diluted of a shifter to notice it yet.”   Rhea knew he was lying; he’d definitely felt something. He’d been just as ready to get kinky as she’d been. She waited a second before her mother entered the back room before meeting Brick’s dark gaze and mouthing the word, “Liar.”   “I want to fuck you. Hard,” he mouthed right back, lifting his eyebrows in direct challenge.   For a moment, she was tempted. Two weeks of constant sex with Brick sounded pretty damn good right about now. She could almost feel his hands on her breasts, cupping her and squeezing, his hot open mouth on her throat and his cock shoved deep, pumping through her sex and bumping against her g-spot, over and over again, until—   “Rhea? Are you coming?” her mother called.

Author, author... Flawed Perfection by Cassandra Giovanni

Today we welcome the very handsome All-Star hockey player, Bobby Beckerson from Cassandra Giovanni’s Flawed Perfection.
Bobby: Thanks for having me!
So, you’re an all-star hockey player?
Bobby: I was but not anymore. A few years back this guy threw an illegal check and destroyed a few discs in my back. The doctors said I’d never play professionally again, and they were right.
That’s awful! What happened to the guy responsible?
Bobby: Let’s put it this way, he’s not playing either.
What do you do then?
Bobby: I’m the head coach for the hockey team at a local high school. The team does amazing; we’re the best team in New England.
You must be busy with coaching a lot of the time and training. How do you make time for a love life?
Bobby: I’m not much for relationships. I’ve kind of been waiting on my best friend to figure out I’m the one for a while.
How’s that going?
Bobby: I don’t get it. She’s pretty deeply infatuated with my kid brother, Adam. I keep trying to get her to see that I can make her happy, when he can’t.
How do you know he can’t?
Bobby (cracks knuckles and raises an eyebrow): He’s not me.
Are you guys a lot different?
Bobby: You could say that. He’s about five inches shorter and about 70 pounds less muscular. His hair’s a bit darker and his eyes…well, they aren’t blue like these. (Winks)
Are you guys similar in any way?
Bobby: Yeah, I’d say so. He’s a great guy—don’t get me wrong. I just don’t want River to see it, or him to realize she loves him.
Why?
Bobby: Cause he loves her too.
Sounds like there’s a bit of a rivalry over this River girl.
Bobby: You could say that, but I’ve never lost anything to Adam.
What happens if you lose?
Bobby: I won’t.
I guess you can’t argue with that confidence (Bobby gives a breath-stealing smile).

Bobby Beckerson was the American All-Star hockey player--he was the spitting image of perfection to his family. Goofy, sweet and undeniably gorgeous, he had everything but the one girl he wanted: River Ahlers.
River Ahlers is successful in everything but love. She's been in love with Adam Beckerson since they were kids. Worst of all she's stuck right in the middle of the brother's dueling over everything and anything, and she doesn't even know she's the ultimate prize.
Adam Beckerson was a boy with a guitar, a smile that sunk girl's hearts and a stone wall around his own. He was anything but perfect, and no matter how hard he tried he was nothing compared to Bobby. Sweet, damaged, with boyish good-looks, nobody thought Adam loved anyone but himself.
Bobby loved River, River loved Adam and Adam only loved himself--or so everyone thought. Then one night everything changes, and as it threatens to destroy everyone involved a tragedy strikes that will break them all...
