Flyover
 a 1 Night Stand book
by Desiree Holt

Buy Links: Amazon| Decadent Publishing | B&N|     Book Description:
Enroute to their 1Night Stand dates, Chelsea Haller and Alec Ramsey are stranded in the airport during an unexpected snowstorm.
It doesn’t take long to discover they’re each other’s one-night stand. Lucky for them, they’re drawn together by sizzling electricity and soon forget the icy snow. As the heat between them nearly melts the sheets in Alec’s hotel room, their night of erotic adventure surpasses anything they expected from a 1Night Stand.
The author constructed an instantaneous connection between two strangers so passionate that even with the length constriction, just 33 pages, the romance is infinite. Once again Ms. Holt delivered… two characters that are completed devoted to each other. -- Books Books and More Books

My Review:    Can I just say, I loved this story!!!  I am already a huge fan of Author Desiree Holt and this story didn't disappoint in any way.  Flyover was a perfect explanation and example of the 1Night Stand series and I am now dying to read more.     I love how Ms. Holt created such a full detailed story in only 33 pages!  I couldnt even make dinner until i'd finish reading!       Two lonely souls with pasts scarred from failed relationships makes this one night stand a perfect no pressures escape for both Chelsea and Alec.  Both leary of being set up, online of all things, but too tired of the same old same old to keep looking on their own.   I loved the idea of them meeting at a cabin at the lake but how perfect they be the only two left in the airport after flights are cancelled because of a snow storm.  It was destiny they meet! Top notch short story from their electric first kiss (excerpt below) to the terrific ending leaving you with the feeling of a definite possibility of a happy-ever-after future. I would highly recommend this book 20 times over and give it 5 stars !!     disclaimer:  I received this book in exchange for an honest review.      Excerpt:
He walked up behind her and hesitated a moment before resting his hands on her shoulders. When she didn’t try to shrug him off or move away, he knew she felt the same attraction he did. Was he moving too fast? Hell, sex was the main item on the night’s agenda, anyway. They both knew it. If she shut him down he’d be no worse off than before.
But she didn’t. When he brushed aside her thick mane of hair and skimmed his lips over the soft skin of her neck, a shiver ran through her. A silent acceptance of his touch. God, she smelled so good, like flowers and the ocean and sin. He licked her skin lightly then nibbled on the lobe of one ear.

She pressed back against him and he turned her to face him, studying her for a moment then brushed his mouth over hers. Her lips were lush and full and tempting, with the feel of soft velvet. Tracing the seam of them with the tip of his tongue, he urged her to open for him and thrust inside her.
Jesus!
Her mouth was hot and liquid, her tongue dancing like a live wire. He moved his hands up and down her back, feeling the heat of her through the fabric of the dress. She gripped his biceps with her fingers and when she pressed her lower body against his, every nerve in his body fired. He wanted to go slow, take it easy. Give her the chance to get used to him. They’d barely gotten to know each other. But his body and brain were engaged in a fierce battle for control.

About the Author:

Reading has been such a large part of my life. I cut my literary teeth on such authors as Louis L'Amour, Nora Roberts and Janet Dailey. For me it wasn't such a jump from reading the wonderful tales these authors spun to imagining my own.

Soon I was writing poetry, short stories and by junior high I'd written my first full length romance novel. Since then I've taken my love of history and my passion for writing and combined them into what I hope will continue to prove a successful career.

With six books contracted, four of which are currently available in print. All are available in electronic format with the last two ebooks due for a release in May and the other in the summer. I'm currently working on three projects, an erotic paranormal romance featuring a witch who loves Christmas, another Ancient Ireland novel, rich in the history of the Irish Celtic peoples, and plotting out a Cowboy Series tentatively titled "The James Gang".

Of course I've got a lot more on the go. I'm developing and growing my editing company with some amazing authors, working on polishing my concepts and plans for upcoming books within the paranormal genres, and keeping up on my writing and being a full time mom, working outside of the house…it's amazing what one can manage in a 16 hour day.

Author, author... Antoinette M.

...read all about her !!

Please help me welcome Antoinette M.

Hi Antoinette, so great to have you here with us.  Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Thanks! It’s great to be here. I worked in a lab for almost ten years when I quit to pursue my lifelong dream of writing. I’m really lucky my husband is willing to support me.
Do real life events find their way into your stories?
They do. I won’t elaborate—that might be TMI.
Do you ever mimic family members or people you know when you choose characters?
Not so much people I know, but sometimes actors, or other characters from books. Or I’ll use someone’s quirk (like that person hates shopping) to flesh out my characters.

Do you find yourself going back to the same inspiration for each story or is it always something different?
I get my inspiration from everywhere, but I do find myself revisiting themes. One of those is gender-bending, where I have my male heroes engaging in traditionally feminine behavior. In The Vampire’s Gallery, Jamie goes shopping for the heroine, Maria. I’ll have my male characters giggle sometimes, or they’ll take a hot scented bath.

When do you write?  Early morning? During the day sometime or all day?  After the kids go to bed?
Generally in the morning. Sometimes I’ll get on a roll and write morning, noon, and then a little in the evening too.

How do you feel about marketing your book?
Excited! Also nervous. It’s about a fifty/fifty split.

What social sites do you feel work best for marketing?
Oh, I don’t know. I’m kind of terrified of them. I have Facebook, and Twitter, and a blog, and Goodreads. It can get a little dizzy sometimes. I’m probably on Reddit the most, but not marketing.

Do you like to pitch stories to your publisher or do you wait until you have written the story and have a final manuscript to turn in?
I self-publish. I do have something I want to send to a publisher, and I’ve got the story finished.

Is there any other genre that you would love to try writing?  If so, what is it?
I wrote a fantasy and I’d like to get back into that. I’d like try sci-fi, because it seems like an awful lot of fun. I don’t know if I could do horror. I’m bad at not making jokes.

Do you always/ever see yourself as the heroine/hero when you write a story?
Sometimes. There are always parts of me, my life, in every story. I stitch together little pieces of real experience with a lot of embroidery.

Just for fun, I have a few personal questions,
Favorite 5
1)        Favorite Male Actor  - Johnny Depp2)        Favorite vehicle - Sailboat3)        Favorite way to relax - Reading4)        Favorite ice cream – Any kind made with coconut milk5)        Favorite outfit – I love my rococo picnic dress from Ix Dox Declare.

And for a bonus:  If you could pick any place in the world to live, besides where you are now, where would it be?  (Of course, without the hindrance of jobs or money needed)
Japan. I want a house like in My Neighbor Totoro.

One last thing before we let you leave us today :)       Do you have a favorite recipe you'd like to share?  I like to cook and am always looking for new recipes to try and share.
Apple cinnamon pork chops:
This recipe isn’t a lot of work, but it does take a while for the water to cool, so I tend to start in the morning. You need 4 boneless pork chops, Kosher salt, cinnamon, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and pepper. Also, I never measure anything (except the salt and water) so this is all pretty approximate.
Boil 1 quart of water. In a 9” by 13” inch pan, add ¼ cup of Kosher salt (yes, it has to be Kosher), 1 tablespoon cinnamon (I like Penzey’s Ceylon cinnamon), and 2 tablespoons brown sugar, not packed (pro-tip: stick it in a Zip-lock in the fridge and it will stay soft). If you want, you can add a bay leaf. Pour in the water and mix. Let it stand until it’s room temperature (an hour or so).
Rinse off your meat and put it in the pan. Add apple cider vinegar so everything is good and covered (about ¼-½ a cup) and let it sit in the fridge for 4-6 hours. Note: at around 6 hours, they’re getting pretty salty.
About half an hour before you want to start cooking, pull out you meat and let it drain on a paper towel. Before cooking I like to cover my pork chops in some fresh ground pepper. They’re good on the grill.

~  ~  ~

Holy cow Antoinette, those sound fabulous !!!  Thanks so much for sharing that recipe and even bigger thanks for being here with us today and sharing a little about yourself.  Super excited to read The Vampire's Gallery too :)

Thanks again for spending time with us and we hope you come back again real soon....like when your next installment is out :)

Until next time, happy reading !!

Excerpt:
“I like the way you move, kitten.”
She took a deep breath, like she needed the extra oxygen to deal with him. “Did you square away the angels in Hell?”
“Yes.” Details weren’t necessary when they both knew he’d instituted a brutal torture regimen for all of them. “Dance with me?”
“To this music?”
“You didn’t appear to be having any problem.” He held his hand out toward her.
She stared at his palm. Her expression was reminiscent of an individual confident selling their soul was a reckless choice but entering the deal anyway.
“I don’t bite.”
Her gaze felt like an impact against his. “You did in Hell.”
He wrangled the grin under control. “Then I won’t bite.”
“I don’t think it’s a good idea, Micah.”
“Why?”
A casual shrug when nothing about her body language suggested she felt relaxed. She crossed her arms beneath her breasts. “Nix says my idea of dancing is sex with clothes on. He couldn’t tolerate it and if he couldn’t….” She trailed off and gaped at him as if she’d just realized she’d been about to insult him.
Micah grinned. “I haven’t lived as long as I have without executing restraint.” He stepped closer to her. “I’ve controlled myself with you more than any other.” Because she is my woman and deserves my respect.
Madison allowed him to pull her arms free of their defensive fold. Holding her gaze, Micah coaxed her into his embrace…left hip to left hip, his leg thrusting between her knees, gliding upward and parting her thighs.
She bit her bottom lip. Her breathing grew shallow. The heavy beat of the music thumped around them. His pulse throbbed faster.
Hell’s delights, she felt fantastic against him.
“Relax,” he said when she remained inflexible. A soft wind would break one of her bones. “I only want to dance with you.” Like when they’d been married, just a different manner of movement. This one more intimate than what they normally partook.
Her focus locked on his jaw, and she sharply inhaled when he slid his palm down her back and settled on her hips. He executed the first moves and she followed. As if magnetized, they gyrated in perfect synchronicity.

Finding Flight
By: Heather M. Sharpe

Can her gift help her find an everlasting love?
Blurb:
As an Enforcer for a secret society of shapeshifters, Ledger Arneau is offered a chance to retrieve his wayward brother before The Council puts out a warrant for his arrest. When the trail goes cold, he is willing to try anything to pick it up again, even if it means bringing in an outsider.
Corinne Winters is able to find any missing object, except her own, by concentrating on it. She’s always dreamed of using her skills to help locate missing people. After an embarrassing setback with the local police department, she jumps on the opportunity to use her skills to help Ledger.
Corinne finds a love she didn’t know she was looking for with Ledger, and discovers a new depth to her talent when they are together. When her new love and his brother disappear back into the secret society, Corinne must stretch her talent beyond anything she ever imagined to bring them home. Unaware of the circumstances surrounding Ledger’s disappearance, Corinne races across the country on his trail. When she finally locates the brothers, she witnesses the unbelievable, and flees in terror. In order to claim the love of her life, she must find a way to accept him and his secret.
Excerpt:
“Are you going to stand there all night, or are you going to let me out?” Corinne called while tapping lightly on the glass behind him.
Ledger pushed his worries to the back of his mind and reluctantly straightened from the side of the car. Despite his new worry about Cedric catching up with them, he couldn’t drive any farther tonight. After a few hours of sleep, he’d be refreshed, and they could pick up the trail bright and early in the morning.
He turned to open the door and helped Corinne straighten from the seat. Stretching her arms above her head, Corinne breathed, “Hmm…I think that’s the longest car ride I’ve ever had. What are our room numbers?”
“Two-thirteen. We’re leaving early in the morning again, so what do you need me to carry in for you? The less we take in now, the less we’ll have to bring back out in the morning.” Ledger turned from Corinne and headed toward the trunk without glancing back.
“What do you mean we’re in two-thirteen? You only got one room?”
“Yeah. Don’t worry, there are two beds. We won’t be here for more than a few hours, anyway. As soon as I’ve caught some sleep, we’ll be back on the road again.”
“I’m not sharing a room with you! What if I snore? You’ve been up since who knows when; I’d hate to keep you awake!” Corinne grabbed her phone out of the cup holder and slammed the door.
“You snore? I never would have guessed. Don’t worry, I’ll sleep through it.”
“I don’t snore.”
“Sure.” He snorted. She was so fun to tease.
“I said what if I snore, not that I do snore. Anyway, that’s beside the point. You need
to go get another room.” Corinne followed him to the trunk of the car and stood with her hands on her hips.

She was close enough that his keen hearing picked up the elevation in her heart rate, and the blush starting at the base of her throat beckoned him. She did want two rooms, but it appeared that the thought of sharing a room excited her in spite of herself.
“Sorry, princess. One room. I’m going up to get some sleep. You can stay here with the car if you really want to. I’ll be back in about six hours.”

Up until the birth of her son, Heather taught elementary school.  Now she chases around her toddler and writes whenever he naps long enough to turn on the laptop.  When not writing or chasing the baby, Heather enjoys hanging at the lake, waking up early to tear up the water on the wakeboard or wakesurf board, and making s’mores.

Author, author... Guest post by Lacey Wolfe

....read all about her !!!

Today we have a guest post by Lacey Wolfe and we're thrilled to be the kick-off spot for her Not Just Friends book tour!!

Thank you so much for having me on your blog today to talk about my new release!
Not Just Friends is the third book in the Brookfield series. When I first started this story I was looking for something fun. And I think this is a fun book. I decided to take my hero and make him the ever so loved playboy. The guy who always has a new woman on his arm. But, I wanted him to be something more. And I wanted him to be someone different with Alyssa. They are the friends to lovers scenario that is always fun.
So what could I do with Connor? Not only did I make him a closet bookworm, but also a video gamer. Yes, he’s a complete nerd in a hot man’s body. *swoon* He keeps his reading and video game addiction a secret from most everyone—especially his guy friends. This became the special thing between him and Alyssa.
And because I love books, I hope to have added a little book humor into this story—especially with erotic romance. Imagine a man getting a hold on a historical erotic romance. I often wonder if they could handle the words they read as much as we can.
I hope I’ve created two characters readers will fall in love with as these two dance around one another trying to figure out how to go from friends to lovers. And of course, a few twists and turns are thrown in along the way. Because life can never be as easy as falling in love, can it?~      ~     ~     ~     ~    ~  Not Just Friends by Lacey Wolfe Book 3 in the Brookfield Series   Can the quiet bookstore owner land the playboy?

Alyssa Duncan’s life revolves around books. If not for the fact the town’s playboy Connor Phillips has a secret reading addiction, she most likely wouldn’t be on his radar…or his friend.  The two personalities just don’t mesh…or do they? She gets a chance to find out when a book-reading bet leads to dinner. Alyssa experiences a wide a range of emotions. She’s elated her beyond-friendship feelings seem returned, but his reputation precedes him. Is she just another gullible female in a string of women? As a relationship begins to develop with Connor, going past the limits of friendship, things grow muddled and complicated when an ex-boyfriend shows up in town and things aren’t what they seem.

When the dust finally settles, will Alyssa find true love with someone or end up with just another friend? Excerpt: As Alyssa opened the book to chapter one, her phone chirped, letting her know she’d received a text.

She decided to ignore it. She never liked to be disturbed when she read. But whoever it was didn’t want to be ignored, since her phone chirped again.

Alyssa groaned, dug it out of her purse, and read the two messages.

Can I come up? – Connor

Put the book down and let me in. *wink wink* - Connor

She giggled and wondered what he stopped by for, especially since she’d just seen him on a date. The new book he wanted didn’t come out until next week. She made her way back downstairs to the bookstore, where she saw Connor standing at the door, smiling while holding two paper cups she assumed was coffee. God, he was a sight. Dark, almost black hair that he always wore with that just-out-of-bed look, with ice-blue eyes that bore into one’s soul.

She unlocked the door and let him in. “Hey, Connor. What can I do for you?”

He handed her a coffee. “It’s Sunday evening and you’re closed tomorrow, which means you’ll be on a reading binge tonight. Figured you could use some coffee.”

She grinned. He knew her so well. Too bad he’d never see her the way she did him. “I picked up a historical romance.”

“Did you try the book I recommend yet?”

Sci-fi wasn’t for her. She had tried it, but couldn’t get into it. “Soon.”

“I don’t believe you. Maybe we should take a bet.” He leaned against the wall.

“A bet? Are you serious?”

“Dead serious. I bet by the end of the week you still haven’t read it.”

She took a sip of her drink. Ah, her favorite. Mocha with a splash of raspberry. “What are the terms of this bet?”

“If you have, dinner’s on me. If you haven’t, dinner’s on you. And I warn you, I have expensive taste.”

Alyssa’s heart fluttered. Dinner? A meal together? They’d never gone anywhere. In fact, she didn’t know if anyone knew they were even friends.

Connor reached out, touching her shoulder. “Do we have a deal?”

Oh God, she was supposed to speak. She wasn’t sure that part of her was working any longer. “Uh-huh.”

Connor grinned at her, a dimple forming on his cheek. “What’s the matter? Cat got your tongue?”

No, a cat did not have her tongue. In fact, if a cat did, she was pretty sure she’d be screaming right about now, not being mute.

“You kinda threw me off, asking me to dinner.”

“Oh, I’m sorry. Was that something you weren’t interested in?”

Ha ha, there wasn’t a woman around who didn’t want to have dinner and more with Connor Phillips. She just never thought it would be her. “We have a deal.”

“Good.”

Alyssa wondered if this meant he might be interested in her. That he could possibly have eyes for her. As she stared at him with a God-knew-what kind of smile on her face, she didn’t notice at first the blonde bombshell she’d seen earlier was now standing outside waiting. Alyssa glanced back at Connor, who caught her focus and turned to glance at the woman.

“Crap, I forgot about her.”

Alyssa raised an eyebrow. “Date?”

“For this evening.”

Her heart sank. Connor wasn’t interested in her. She would never look like blondie out there. He wanted to take her out as a friend. That was it. It was time she realized it and the fact they would never be anymore than they were. And after tonight, the woman standing out in the cold would know the same thing.

“I guess I better get out there.” He took a sip of his drink and stepped away from the wall.

“Yeah, she seems a little mad.”

Connor leaned closed and whispered to her, “She’ll get over it.” He brushed a light kiss on her cheek. This was the first time he’d ever been that close to her.

The woman outside tapped on the door, obviously not liking what she had seen.

“You better go,” Alyssa said. “Besides, I think my dinner’s cold. I’d just taken it out of the microwave before you got here.”

“Enjoy your meal and the coffee as well.” He waved and then went back out the door, greeting the woman waiting for him.

Alyssa wanted to watch but didn’t. It was hard enough knowing the man she secretly fantasized about was once again out with another woman.

in Hawaii in

From the books, readers will learn that Tabitha is a spunky brunette who works at a law firm. Marcus introduces her to some light bondage and other games and she discovers a side to her personality she didn't even guess was there. But that is just the beginning.

Writers usually have information in reserve in case it is needed in the book or simply to allow us to write with depth about our characters. So what are some things I know about Tabitha that weren't included for the reader?

1.  Tabitha was an athlete in high school. She has always been physically fit and enjoyed sports. She was a multi-season athlete - volleyball in the fall and softball in the spring.

2.  Tabitha grew up in a loving family. She is a well-adjusted character. She has insecurities like everyone, but she isn't emotionally damaged. That isn't true of all my characters. She is standard girl next door material with no major traumas.

3.  Tabitha hasn't found her vocation. She's smart and enthusiastic. She went to college and came out with a liberal arts degree. She started at the law firm thinking it would be temporary, but it has turned into something longer. However, she doesn't view it as her career.

4.  Tabitha has an adventurous side. She ends up by herself on vacation in Hawaii and at first, she considers returning home, but she sticks with it. When Marcus introduces her to some bondage, she's surprised, but willing to try. She doesn't jump right in, she thinks and considers, but she usually ends up taking the new path.

5.  Tabitha enjoys art. She loves perusing galleries and museums. She keeps a sketchbook and draws in it frequently. She even dabbles in a bit of painting from time to time.

I hope you enjoyed learning more about Tabitha. Have you ever wondered about the backstory for some of your favorite characters?

Blurb for His Desire, Her Surrender

Tabitha Quinn's Hawaii vacation was anything but ordinary. Dominant billionaire Marcus Granger saved her life, swept her into his bed, and then left her heartbroken. Now she's back in New York, mourning the man she's sure she'll never see again.

Marcus may have left handprints on her skin, but Tabitha's left handprints on his heart: he tracks her down, and they resume the sizzling affair they began in the islands.

Tabitha belongs to Marcus body and soul in bed, but she worries she doesn't belong in his high-stakes world. They've already dodged a murder attempt, and now Marcus is fighting off a competitor's takeover. When the rival company obtains critical information, suspicion falls on Tabitha. She has to prove she's innocent--and worthy to wear Marcus's collar.

Excerpt from His Desire, Her Surrender

Marcus tapped his stomach. "I don't know about you, but I'm getting hungry. If you fix something, I'll reward you later. Deal?"
"Sure." Tabitha pulled chicken from the refrigerator as Marcus left her to find her way around the kitchen. She planned to cook something quick and easy on the stovetop. She located onions, chopped them and tossed them into a sauté pan. Further searching turned up rice and spices. A little saffron and cardamom and she'd have something tasty.
Once everything was in the pan, she tracked down the makings of a salad. That would do, she thought, chicken and rice with salad. Simple but appetizing.
As she set the table, Marcus reappeared, towels in hand. "I thought you might want one for sitting." He spread one on the chair at the head of the table and the other on the chair to the side.
Tabitha handed Marcus the salad bowl. "This whole nudity thing. I'm not sure if I'd get used to it. Might get chilly."
Marcus stole a carrot slice out of the salad and tossed it in his mouth. "I imagine so. But it can be a fun change of pace."
"Yes." Tabitha brought the chicken and rice to the table, and they settled in.
Marcus gazed on the food with appreciation. "This is great. I'm starving."
"I hope you like it. I make it quite often."
Marcus placed one hand on her thigh as he took a bite with the other.
Tabitha's fork stopped in mid-air as heat flooded her. She was glad for the towel underneath her. The last thing she wanted was to stain the upholstery.
Marcus massaged her skin and slid his hand between her thighs.
Tabitha set down her fork. "Marcus!"
He continued eating. "Yes?"
"I can't eat when you do that."
"You can't?" He took another bite of chicken, clearly enjoying it. His fingers searched her intimate recesses.
Tabitha pursed her lips, displaying an amused frown. "No. I'm too distracted."
"Mmm. That is unfortunate. This meal is wonderful."
"It's hard to think about eating right now."
Marcus maintained his innocent air while he explored her moistening skin. "Really? I'm having no trouble at all." He ingested another bite.

Author, author... Guest post by KT Grant

...read all about it !!

Today we have a guest author so please give a super warm welcome to KT Grant !! Say Hello to the Threesome of Island Pleasures!
When I decided to write Island Pleasures, I already had my heroine all picked out. Carly was first introduced in A Bid for Love , and I had a good idea what type of heroine she would be. Carly is a fun loving blond, who is has a nose for the news, or rather the gossip since she works as a reporter for a tabloid magazine. She may come across a bit ditzy but she’s also very insightful and dedicated to her job. Since I’m a big fan of opposites attracting, I decide that one of her love interests would be more reserved and stuffy, the complete opposite of my Carly. That’s where Quinn comes into the picture.
Whereas Carly has a very sunny personality, Quinn is more brooding and dark, although he works on a Caribbean island where he should be more relaxed. Poor Quinn has a hard time going with the flow since he’s a workaholic. Carly and Quinn clash right away, mainly because they have a past together as former lovers in college. But since Carly is working undercover, she tries downplaying her vivacious personality and physical appearance and pretends to be her prim and proper twin sister, Cassidy. But since Carly is so outgoing and has a mouth on her, Quinn figures out pretty early on about Carly’s sneakiness and why she’s using a fake alias.
Then there’s Brian aka Woody who is very laid back and a big ladies man. Woody is also a redhead, loves the beach and is Quinn’s best friend and the voice of reason. Woody falls for Carly’s deceit, and when he finds out how she tricks him, he’s pretty forgiving, unlike Quinn who wants revenge. Quinn’s revenge leads to something not only surprising for Carly, but for Woody, who is the catalyst for Quinn forgiving Carly and for them to move on from the betrayal both have experience from one another. How Quinn and Carly get over this betrayal is the biggest surprise in Island Pleasures, especially when Woody becomes intimately involved with the couple.
Island Pleasures’ three important characters have very different personalities, which I feel is something important when creating a story, in the hopes the reader will enjoy what they’re reading and look forward to more stories set in this world I’ve created.
