Never Say Never by Aimee Duffy
Book 2 in The Price of Fame Series
When pretend turns to desire, heartbreak is unavoidable.
Sander Chase needs a date for his ex-fiancée's engagement party, but he doesn't have time for a woman in his life. Between working on the TV show Do You Have What It Takes? and his band reforming, he's too busy for a relationship. What he needs is a pretend girlfriend. He thinks he may have found the perfect woman for the job, and the bribe he offers means she's sure to accept.
After losing her job in the film industry, breaking up with her movie star boyfriend, and finding out her mum has dementia, Chloe Butler returned to the UK determined to put her life back together. The last thing she needs is to parade around London on the arm of a celebrity, and after the heartbreak caused by her ex, she swore she'd never again date a star. But when Sander offers her a chance at her dream job, it's not something she can turn down.
As Chloe gets to know Sander she learns he's nothing like her scumbag ex. But she struggles to fight her attraction to him, knowing their relationship is only for show and their separation date is closing in fast.
Ignoring the insane chemistry between them should be easy for Sander, especially since he carries a secret that means there can be no future for them, but the more time he spends with Chloe, the harder it is to keep his hands to himself.
Content Warning: contains more denial than you'll find in a courtroom, more sexual tension than most people could handle, and explosive sex that some readers may find long overdue.
Excerpt:
"Hey," Sander greeted her. His blue eyes were set with determination.
Chloe swallowed. "Hi, what can I get you?"
A smile crept across his face and highlighted a dimple in his right cheek. He was pretty for a man. Even considering all the mouth-watering muscles.
"Are you seeing anyone?"
Chloe blinked. "No…" she started but immediately regretted it.
If he was going to ask her out on a 'pretend date' again, telling him she was spoken for would be a better way to nip it in the bud. Not to mention she still couldn't understand why he wanted her. Surely he could find someone who didn't come with the commitments she had.
"Then I have a proposition for you."
A proposition? Was he serious? She opened her mouth to object, but he cut her off.
"Hear me out," he insisted. The set of his mouth told her there was no room for arguing. Definitely pushy. "I've been talking to my friend at Studio Four. He's looking to hire a makeup artist."
Chloe's heart rate kicked up a notch and excitement zipped through her. Was he saying what she thought he was saying? Then realization dawned. "You got me a job so I'd go out with you?"
Pushy, crazy, high-handed. The list of faults the male Adonis had was growing.
"No. I got you an interview this Friday in exchange for your company next week. You'll have to prove you can do the job to get it."
Something inside her relaxed. He wasn't handing the job to her on a plate, just giving her a foot in the door. But when she'd sent her CV to the studio a few months back, they'd said they didn't have an opening.
"Did you pull strings to get me the interview?"
His dimples flashed. "Does it matter?"
Couldn't he answer a straight question? "It matters to me."
After a sigh, he said, "Yeah, I pulled some strings and asked them to consider you for the job."
"But there weren't any positions available." Or had they just told her that because they didn't think she'd fit?
"New shows will start in the next few months and one of the makeup artists is about to go on maternity leave. Dave, the owner of Studio Four, said he was going to advertise for the positions next week."
"Oh." She couldn't give up the coffee shop for maternity cover, could she?
As if reading her mind, or the disappointment on her face, he added, "I told them you'd be applying for one of the permanent posts."
Could he read her mind, or was she really that transparent? She wiped all emotion from her face—a skill she'd learned in LA—and offered him a polite smile.
He leaned forward and placed his palms on the granite counter. Chloe's eyes widened when she took in the size of them. The man was huge. Warmth trickled through her veins and she quickly pushed the thought away. It did no good to wonder whether he was in proportion all over. She met his gaze with her chin held high.
"And if I get the job, how do you know I won't back out?"
Sander's lips curved in a way that should be illegal. A tingle skittered down her spine and licked hotter in her belly.
"A favor for a favor? You don't seem like the kind of girl who'd back out of a deal."
No, she wasn't, she was loyal to the point of stupidity. Even to those who didn't deserve it…like Dane.
"No, I'm not." Chloe took a deep breath. "Why me, Sander?" She didn't think sir, or Mr. Chase, would be appropriate considering he'd asked her out twice now.
His smile brightened and her heart stuttered. "I don't have time to date. Work is crazy and I'll be back on the show in a few months. I'll probably be on tour with the band late into the year. You don't want more than I'm offering, so you're perfect for this."
Sander shrugged, as if that explained everything. Chloe supposed it did. He really didn't want anything more than a woman on his arm for show.

Flights of Delusion by Ellie Potts
Take a walk with a crying stranger, sit down to play chess with a strange old man, see what happens when Lucifer has an eye on you, or watch what happens when you win in a future lottery. Meet monsters, mutants and demons in Flight of Delusion, a collection of short stories that range from the weird to the scary.

Excerpts:
The Crying Stranger
A luminous glow radiated around the silent figure. Her white skin untainted by the sun’s harsh touch, as her eyes twinkled like fiery green emeralds. Her straight calf length auburn hair flowed around her like a red veil. Her natural crimson lips moved as she sang to herself. The song seemed so right on this dark dreary night.
She walked through the darkness unafraid of anything around her. She had no worries. The millions of stars burned brightly above her small head. Her feet bare amongst the new spring grass made her feel almost alive. She stopped. Bending her head slightly to the left, she listened. The small night sounds were so crisped to her elfin ears. She listened through the sounds until she heard it. The call.
Cestoda
Bobbie found himself hiding in the dark, noises and screams all around him. His heart hammered hard in his chest. Think you idiot, he said. He moved the plastic aside for a small peek under the table he hid under. The sun had started to set about half an hour ago. The sight of everyone tripping or jumping over the dead bodies seemed almost unnerving. He was so glad the acid trip was over.
Two other people slipped under the table. He moved to the very edge, scared. They too were frightened by the sight of him. No one said anything for some time. They just stared at each other while the screaming and the scuff of shoes passed by. A loud shriek filled the air, which made him think of Sky. Bobbie tried to think back to how he had gotten here. Fucking weird day.
Windigo
Eating the flesh of another is said to steal their essence to become more of what I am. It’s a half truth, I have become more powerful but in a way that is making me less human more animal. I don’t mind it really; the animal part is a relief from the human in me who finds it disturbing to eat a fellow person.
The Native Americans call creatures like me Windigos. I went to the library one evening after work and looked it up. Again half truths, is all I found. I know what I am or rather what I’ve done and need. There it says a person who gives themselves freely to that of the Windigo will go into the forest for seven days and fast and sacrifice themselves to the spirit of the Windigo. That isn’t what happened to me.
The Job
May you walk through the raining pools of blood, and dance on the guts of your victims.
The words floated to the top of her head. She had been given a job, a good job, a job she knew she could really do. A job she had been dreaming for since she could remember. Remember since when? Lucifer had explained her duties, and she planned on doing her very best. To show not only Lucifer, but his other head-honchos that he chose well.

Somebody told Ellie Potts you had to be rich to be eccentric otherwise you were just crazy. She set out to prove them wrong doing things she was told she couldn't do like dressing like a pirate, get her books published, playing video games, planning to survive a zombie apocalypse, and other antics most women stay away from. Her love of books motivates her and movies captivate her. She loves almost everything from Disney to George Romero. She lives in California's Central Valley where most of her stories and books take place. Her and her husband are owned by their attack Bugg, and her two red eared slider turtle minions who live in the backyard.

Author, author..... and Southern Embrace
...read all about it !
Please help me welcome a great guest author today !!!
Hello, and thank you for stopping by. I’m Tamaria Soana, a contemporary romance author. My stories tend to be on the steamy side and always end with a happily ever after.
Southern Embrace my newest release was a very different story line for me to tackle. The story opens with Savannah my heroine trying to pick up the pieces of the broken heart her high school sweetheart Lance left her with when his family moves away the summer after graduation and he cuts her out of his life.
With some prompting for her best friend Nikki, Van (Savannah) goes out with the girls to a club and meets the handsome older Stephan. He sweeps her off her feet and she begins to heal. The stories over and they live happily ever after right? WRONG. The story is just beginning. In chapter 1 we learn that Stephan was killed in a car accident (I hated doing that). Savannah is twenty-three and the grief consumes her. Nikki her best friends steps in once again and arranges for Lance to run into her at the mall. Will Savannah give Lance a chance to explain and let him back into her life?
Southern Embrace is an emotional story about overcoming grief, forgiveness, and second chances.
I hope you’ll fall in love with Savannah and Lance as much as I have. Southern Embrace is from Savannah’s POV. I’m currently writing Southern Desire, the story from Lance’s POV.
Southern Embrace
Can a long lost love mend a grieving heart?
Widowed at twenty-three, Savannah Grant is devastated and consumed with grief, a grief that she can't seem to move past. When her high school sweetheart, Lance Peterson, re-enters her life, Savannah struggles with the feeling that she would be betraying her deceased husband by moving on. Plus, she can't forget the way Lance broke her heart all those years ago.
Lance never stopped loving Savannah. He wants a second chance, and he's willing to do anything it takes to convince her to give him one. Will she give in and let Lance love her, showing her a passion beyond anything she thought possible? Content Warning: adult language, explicit sexual situations, anal play Excerpt:
It was a beautiful Friday afternoon. Van grabbed her purse and headed out to the mall. Nikki's shower was the following weekend, and Nikki had been on her to get a new dress for days, threatening to drag her shopping kicking and screaming if she didn't go herself.
Once at the mall, Van picked up some last minute gifts for Nikki. After trying on a few dresses, she found a knee-length, strapless coral dress. She purchased it and was off in search of a pair of shoes. When she found the perfect pair of coral and silver heels, Van concluded the trip to the mall a complete success.
Her cellphone rang as she was leaving the shoe store. She dug around in her bag to find it. With her head down and her steps brisk, she ran right into someone.
"I'm so sorry. I'm such a klutz," she said as she looked up into the brown eyes of her first love. She gasped and took a step back, surveying him. His light brown hair was a little shorter and he was built like a man now, not the boy she used to know. She stood frozen in place, staring at him. This can't be happening. A tidal wave of emotions rushed through her at once. Anger, resentment, hatred, but mainly pain…so much pain.
"Van."
"Lance? Oh my God!" She took another step back. "How?"
"I-I talked to Nikki. She told me you would be here. I needed to see you. When I heard what happened…" He paused. "I knew I couldn't stay away any longer. I'm so sorry." The more he talked, the more Van's anger flared. Who does hethink he is? He left me! Turned his back on me when he cut all ties! "What exactly are you sorry for, Lance? That my husband died or that you broke my heart all those years ago?" The words she spoke were full of acid. "You have a lot of nerve just showing up here like nothing ever happened. Go away." She turned to leave.
"Please, Van, just talk to me. Give me a chance to explain," he begged as he reached for her hand.
"Don't you dare touch me," she said through gritted teeth, yanking her hand away. "What do you want from me?" She stared at him while plotting all the ways she was going to torture Nikki for her betrayal.
She seethed as he looked around. "Calm down, Van. People are starting to stare. Please, can we go somewhere more private and talk? There is so much I need to tell you."
"What could you possibly have to say to me that would make up for what you did? I mean, I know you had to move, but you cut all ties with me. Like the three years we spent together meant nothing to you, like I meant nothing to you. Damn you, Lance, you didn't even try to make it work."
"Please, Savannah. Give me a chance to explain."
"Give me one reason why I should."
"Because I still love you. I. Never. Stopped. I cut all ties with you
because I had to. Long distance relationships never work out. I was afraid you would wake up one day and resent me. Being apart from you was killing me. I thought this way we would both be able to move on. But I was wrong, I never was able to move on. I let the love I have for you consume me. I wanted to come back sooner, but then I heard you'd gotten married. When I found out what had happened, I wanted to rush here and be by your side, but I figured you would need some time."
His words shocked and confused her. After she took a few moments to process everything, she shook her head. "I can't do this." She turned and walked away, then stopped. "Go back to wherever it was you came from and leave me alone."
"I won't give up on you. I won't stop trying, and I most definitely won't ever leave you again."
"Just go away, Lance. You're good at that," she snarled before she walked away. She didn't dare turn around because looking at him as he begged her to give him a chance to explain would certainly weaken her. Van needed to focus on how she was going to kill her so-called best friend.

Review & Giveaway: Finding Jordie by H.J. Harley

Finding Jordie
By: H.J. Harley
Blurb
Jordie is a survivor, tough and independent. She's had to be, since her husband was killed in Iraq. For the last eight years, raising her daughter and owning a popular New York City bar has kept Jordie plenty busy, leaving her no time for much of anything else. Aside from her sassy yet squirrely best friend Rachel, Jordie's social life is bare bones and her love life nonexistent. Truth be told she wouldn't change a thing; she's never been happier.
Then she meets Nathan, and he changes everything with one crooked smile, triggering a chain of life-altering events for the two of them, filled with romance, chaos, and deadly peril. Neither of them could ever imagine their relationship would resurrect an unknown darkness from Jordie's past, lurking in the shadows, just waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Jordie has never needed to be stronger for all of them to make it out alive.
Sensuality Level: Sensual
My Review:

I loved Jordie from the very beginning, her no-nonsense independent attitude and the witty banter she shares with her best friend Rachel. I always thought it'd be a blast to own a bar :) Add in that she also happens to be a mother of a 9 year old totally surprised me but with a little help from her sister in Jersey and a daughter that sometimes even resembles an adult in stature, you have one kick-ass heroine. A heroine that is totally fine with how things are... her own bar, her own apartment (buidling since she owns it) and her own rules. Until hottie Nathan enters the picture....
And enter the picture he did. I really think she fell for him from the very beginning when she was getting her but kicked by a dude 3 times her size. It was quite a nice change for Nathan to watch this little scrap of a female get knocked down and get right back up fighting. She didn't need anybody and she didn't know who he was which enabled them to form a great romance with ornery interaction which i loved, without all the pomp and circumstance at the beginning.
Unfortunately for the whole group, there is plenty of that 'pomp and circumstance', paparazzi and even a deadly darkness from Jordie's past to deal with and overcome. Our author does a tremendous job working these great characters through each sticky situation they find themselves in. With a great amount of suspense, much love, even more understanding and an unforgettable depth-developed bodyguard or two, this story turned into one of my favorites :)
I can't reveal anymore no matter how bad I want to tell you how it all ends. You just need to read it and I know you'll love it as much as I did !!!
Currently on the hunt for more HJ Harley books :) 5 stars for sure !!

Excerpt
“Fuck!” I blurted out as I reached my steps. Nathan was perched there halfway up and, my Lord, he was looking fine.
“Is that a statement or a request?” He grinned mischievously at me, a grin that touched those amazing blue eyes.
Oh shit, he’s here … on my front porch. My heart slammed into my throat and I was pretty sure I had lost the ability to form a coherent sentence.
“Hi?” was all I could manage to say. What was he doing here at three A.M.?
“I wanted to make sure you made it home safely,” he said, as if answering my silent question.
“Nut. Job,” I mouthed slowly to him.
He laughed, unveiling that beautiful, perfect, white-toothed smile that made his eyes even

when all I wanted to do was start it. I walked past him. “Want to come up for a beer or something?” I unlocked the door and waited for the impact of the rejection.
“Or something.”
I could hear the smirk in his tone.
“Is that a statement or a request?” Ugh, what are you doing? Is this flirting? I silently sighed. Rachel had never been more correct — it had been too long. “Lock the door behind you, please.” I started the two-flight journey to my apartment. We reached my door, and I took a deep breath while I unlocked it. We walked in and I tossed my crap on the table as usual. He closed the door, and I heard the click of the
lock.
“Want some breakfast?” I asked him, walking past the large sectional in my living room into the kitchen. Nathan followed but stopped in the dining room and took a quick glance around my place as he leaned against the wall. “Assuming I will be here for
breakfast?” he asked in a sultry voice full of humor.
Flushed, I popped my head out from behind the fridge door. “Smart ass, I meant now. I’m starving. Yes or no?”
“Sure.” He got dimples when he smiled.
“Can you make some coffee?” I pointed to the pantry closet door.
“Yes, ma’am.” He stepped into the pantry. “Pop Tarts? You eat Pop Tarts?” His muffled words became clearer as he walked out, holding coffee in one hand and a box of Pop Tarts in the other. He closed the door with his foot.
“I enjoy a good Pop Tart.” I pouted, crinkling my eyebrows.
“Seriously? Strawberry? I thought you said you enjoyed a good Pop Tart.” He eyed me suspiciously.
“Shut up — it’s the sprinkles. They make me happy.” I quickly looked back down to the pan, trying not to stare at his amazing blue eyes.
“Do you know what these are made of?” He sounded appalled, as if I were eating a cockroach instead of an artificial pastry.
“No, please enlighten me.” I noticed my cheeks hurt because I had been smiling for the past five minutes.
“All right, sassy pants, I will.” He was attempting to be serious, but began to laugh while he poured water into the coffee maker.
“C’mon educate me, I need a good schooling, and have you ever made coffee before?” I playfully grabbed the coffee from his hands, swiftly dumped four scoops into the top of the machine, closed the lid, and pressed the start button.
“Impressive.” He hopped onto the counter holding the box of Pop Tarts again, watching me. “It’s a sugar coma is what it is. I can’t explain it. I just know anything that has a shelf life of fourteen years and is still edible after a nuclear winter can’t be good for you.” He held his head high and tightened his lips as if he was triumphant in convincing me.
I stared blankly at him, trying my damnedest not to laugh, but the corners of my mouth betrayed me as they tightened. We both burst out in laughter.
“Really? That’s all you got?” I snatched the box from his hands and put it back on the counter. “Like I said, it’s all about the sprinkles, so if there is in fact a nuclear winter, at least I’ll be happy.” I tossed him a loaf of bread.
“Can you make toast?”
“Can I make toast?” He hopped off the counter. “Of course I can make
toast.”
When I turned to look at him he was standing at the toaster with a confused look on his face.
“You’re kidding me, right?”
My mouth popped open wide in shock and he laughed.
“Gotcha.” He winked, pushing down the lever.
Oh my, no no no. I won’t survive this night if he keeps shit like that up. Order Sites:

How could she have been talked into this? She was in way over her head. Cynthiana
Davenport did not plan fundraiser Gala’s, she attended them. So how is it that she was now head of the planning committee? And for baseball of all things. She didn’t even like baseball, much less know anything about it. So what if her best friend had married a hunky major league baseball player last year. Just because Stacy had to learn about the sport didn’t mean she did. She was going to call her right now and tell her the deal was off. Someone else would have to take her place.
Cynthiana dug her phone out of her purse and was about to hit speed dial when she sighed in resignation and threw it back into her purse. Stacy was seven months pregnant with twins and on total bed rest. She couldn’t back out, Stacy didn’t need that kind of stress. The Gala was only a month away and everything was practically done. It would be a piece of cake. She could do this. Besides, it was only a big party and if there was one thing she was good at it was throwing parties. Sure, this one was a little larger than she was used to but hey, how much trouble could five hundred wealthy people and athletes be?
Not nearly as much trouble as managing her growing feelings for one very gorgeous, very charming baseball player with deep brown eyes and a killer smile who just happened to be her right hand on the planning committee. Roberto Luque. If she could just ignore his adorable dimples she might get through the next few hours. Roberto was a playboy and she didn’t date playboys. Ever. So she would just have to keep her feelings under tight control until the night was over. She had managed to do just that every time they had seen each other over the past year. Admittedly, it had been getting harder and harder, especially since he seemed to be stepping up the charm. A man like Roberto knew very well when a woman was attracted to him, but she was determined not to be one of them. So far she had been safe by provoking some sort of argument with him any time they were together, that usually cooled things down, but she hadn’t been able to do that since they started working together on the Gala. Thankfully they wouldn’t be alone, the rest of the committee would be there too. Which was a good thing since they were meeting at her house. Heaven only knew what would happen if the two of them were alone in a house together. Spontaneous combustion came to mind.
Her two story, red brick house on twenty-five acres in a small Dallas suburb gave her the privacy of having a slice of country while still close to the city. Deciding they would be more comfortable working in the living room she finished laying out the last of the Chinese food boxes on the coffee table. The door bell rang. Refusing to glance in the mirror by the door, she opened it to find Roberto. Just Roberto. It was dangerous to womankind for one man to be so handsome. That mischievous look in his dark eyes, a touch of humor on his full lips, dark tendrils of hair curled on his forehead and at his nape. How is it that the sight of him made her feel light headed? Get a grip girl, he’s only a man.
“Hi Princesa. I brought the wine and the guest lists as you ordered.”
“I don’t order, I request.” Defensive mode was her method of survival around him. She stepped back and let him in.
Roberto stood just inside and surveyed her house. Lots of windows let in plenty of sunlight. Sheer red curtains over white slatted blinds complemented the white carpeting and black leather sectional with red and white throw pillows scattered over it. Why was it so important that he like her home?
With a smile and a shake of his head Roberto said, “Nice. It suits you. Fiery yet warm. By the way, Jennifer and Raquel won’t be able to make it tonight.” He set the wine bottle on the table next to the wine glasses and the manila folder containing the guest lists on the sofa.
So much for her well laid plans. “Why not? We have a lot to do tonight, and why didn’t they call me?” She wanted to stomp her foot like a child. Fortunately, she was able to control that urge. Unfortunately her face felt as hot as stoked fire. Darn, why did she have such pale skin? Was it anger or the thought of being alone with him? Anger, definitely anger.
“Because they called me,” Roberto replied. “Between the two of us we can get everything done. Not to worry Princesa, hard work is not hazardous to your health.”
“I know that Roberto. Why do you insist on thinking I haven’t worked a day in my life?”
“I never said that. Now let’s eat, I’m starving.”
The man was impossible. Maybe she’d just send him home and do all the work herself. The idea had merit. She plopped down on the sofa as far away from him as possible and still reach the food. She ignored his knowing smile and shake of his head as she picked up a box of her favorite sweet and sour pork. Who cared if he thought she was a chicken for wanting to keep distance between them.
He poured them each a glass of wine and sat down next to her. He scooted closer to her as he handed her a glass. Now he seemed to ignore her scowl as he took a sip of wine, set down his glass and chose his own box.
“You’re always starving,” she said a few bites later, “it must be some sort of rule for athletes that they can eat whatever they want and still look great.”
“You think I look great?”
Darn! Why did she have to say something to make him smile? There were those dimples again. Heat started creeping up her neck and face, the telltale signs of a blush coming on. Be more careful with your words!
“All athletes look great, it’s not just you. Don’t let your head get too big, if it gets any bigger we won’t both fit on the sofa, I’ll find myself on the floor.”
He put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her to his side. “Don’t worry, there will always be a place for you by my side.”
His teasing tone turned serious causing her to look up at him. He stared down at her, his expression unreadable. Was he joking? Was he serious? She couldn’t tell and her heart was doing funny little flip flops, his fingers stroking seductively up and down her arm weren’t helping either.

Review: A Gift for Emily by JP Galuska

A Gift for Emily The Emily Stokes Series #2 by J P Galuska
Book Description:
A Gift for Emily picks up right where A Kiss for Emily leaves off. She is discovering that

Buy Link: Amazon
My Review: I was a little bummed before I started reading A Gift for Emily because i'm a super huge fan of books in a series and knowing this was book 2 made it difficult to start it. Thank goodness and kudos to JP Galuska that we do get a brief summary of what happened in A Kiss for Emily but i still think I want to go back and read it just to get the feel for the whole story. Anywho, what a great book, this #2. I am more and more becoming a fan of paranormal romantic suspense. The thought of having a ghost boyfriend, not to mention one made of water, intruiges me most definitely but not being able to kiss him would be a bit of a downer, especially knowing it could damn Emily to hell. *eek* As Emily and Sam search out a way to help Sam, my heart was heavy for Sam as he watched Emily and the sheriff become closer and Sam wondering if David wouldn't be better for her in the long run. I loved the great amount of suspense and mystery the author wrapped us in when Emily started getting gifts that eventually got scary and turned stalkerish and I did not expect to be so shocked at the end and definitely left wanting more !!! JP Galuska, please hurry with book 3 :) In the meantime, i'll be reading book 1!!

J P lives in Minnesota with her family, a crazy dog, and the world's best cat.

Author, author... Interview & Giveaway with S.L. Scott
...read all about it !!
Great to have you here S.L., can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi, thanks for having me on your blog. I’m S.L. Scott and I write new adult and contemporary romance. My first novel was published last November and is called Naturally, Charlie. I’ve also written several best-selling novellas. I am a mother of two awesome kids and two Papillons, the wife of an amazing husband, and I’m following my passion and writing full time now.
What did you want to be when you were growing up or did you always want to be a writer?
I wanted to be an actress, but always loved writing and wrote a few screenplays and earned my degree in Journalism. Writing has always captured my imagination.
When did you first start writing?
I’ve been creating books my whole life. They started off as folded pieces of paper stapled at the spine with pictures I drew inside. Humble, but pretty common beginnings I think.
What is a typical writing day like for you?
Take my kiddos to school and then return and start writing. If my scene is not fully developed in my head, a walk will help me to focus, and then I return and start writing again.
Do you have any specific routine you follow or specific items you need with you when you write?
I plop down on my couch, pull my laptop onto my lap, and start typing.
What is your favorite part of writing? Is there anything you don’t like about being a writer?
I love creating stories that entertain me. I write what I like to read. Editing can be tedious after ten or more rounds, but I will never regret the efforts I put into my stories.
What is your favorite length of book to write? (Short story, novella, full length novel) Why?
I like novels because it gives you more time to spend with the characters and know them on a deeper level. You get more day to day with them instead of smaller snippets of their lives.
How does your family feel about your writing and you being an author?
My family is super supportive and proud of me for following my dream and pursuing my passion.
Is there a to-be-read waiting on your bedside table?
Yes, I have a stack of eight books on my nightstand and probably at least ten ebooks on my Kindle. I have everything from Mary Whitney’s More Than Rivals to The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons and Aleatha Romig’s Consequences. Lots of romance in other words. ;)
Just for fun, I have a few personal questions,
Favorite 5
1) Favorite Holiday – Christmas by far and away is my favorite. I always go overboard in presents and decorating.
2) Favorite Drink – a Margarita does the soul some good. lol
3) Favorite Author – Jane Austen. She just never disappoints.
4) Favorite Book – I’m a romantic at heart and will go with Pride and Prejudice
5) Favorite Animal – I love giraffes.
And for a bonus: What is a typical mood for you? And is your mood different when you’re writing?
I’m pretty content and happy, but I do get anxious to chain myself to my laptop and write at all hours when I’m working on a new story.
Where can our readers find you??

Is there an upcoming or current release you would like to share with us today and where can we find it?
A Prior Engagement is my new novel. It’s a star-crossed lovers story—a little angsty, a lot romantic.
Living in a world built on pretenses, Everleigh Wright discovers how carefully orchestrated her Upper East Side life has been. Trapped in an arrangement for social prestige and financial gain, she finds life is not as idyllic as she once thought.
William Ryder leads a life rich in family support and endless determination. While attending university in Manhattan, he becomes enamored with a classic beauty who holds many secrets beneath her quiet propriety. William falls head over heels crazy for her, and she falls for him and his unfaltering optimism and kindness.
William and Everleigh may come from different worlds, but their attraction is instant and their love undeniable. Hoping love conquers all, they will find out if their love is unstoppable when faced with the consequences of breaking a prior engagement.
"Right here, right now is all that matters."
It released on Amazon on April 16, 2013.
It will also be available on Barnes and Noble and iTunes within two weeks of the release date.

Great to have you here S.L., can you tell us a little about yourself?

Author, author... Interview with Melissa Kendall
...read all about it !!
Please welcome today the fabulous Melissa Kendall Great to have you Melissa, can you tell us a little about yourself? I am a 37 year-old stay at home mum and part-time Software Support Consultant. I live in Perth Western Australia, the most isolated capital city in the world. What did you want to be when you were growing up or did you always want to be a writer? Oh I think like all kids I had a million different careers I wanted to try, I wanted to be a Marine Biologist I had a phase where I wanted to be a mechanic those are the ones I distinctly remember. When did you first start writing? I wrote a lot during my teens and early twenties but lost the love for it over time. In 2008 when my son was born my interest was rekindled and it’s been a big part of my life ever since. What is a typical writing day like for you? I actually don’t write much during the day. You can usually find me at my laptop after my son goes to bed so between about 8.30 pm and midnight is when I get all my writing done. Do you have any specific routine you follow or specific items you need with you when you write? I don’t have a routine but I usually write best with total quiet and no distractions What is your favorite part of writing? Is there anything you don’t like about being a writer? My favourite part about writing is the feedback when people read my words and like them. The bit I hate is when my use decides to take a holiday right when I have a deadline to meet. What is your favorite length of book to write? (Short story, novella, full length novel) Why? I seem to write short stories /novella’s the most for some reason that just seems to be the length of story my brain comes up with. I do have my first full length novel that I am working on and hope to have out late 2013 maybe early 2014. How does your family feel about your writing and you being an author? They are mostly supportive Just for fun, I have a few personal questions,
Favorite 5
1) Favorite Holiday Okay so I think we use the word Holiday a little differently here in Aus so I’m gonna say my trip to Egypt in 2000 it was a purely magical place. 2) Favorite Drink Coke Zero 3) Favorite Author Laura Kaye 4) Favorite Book Oh there is no way I can choose there are just too many. 5) Favorite Animal I love elephants And for a bonus: What is a typical mood for you? And is your mood different when you’re writing? If my husband were to answer this question, he would tell you that my moods change at the drop of a hat so I guess I don’t have a typical mood. Curve My Appetitea 1NS story Sally Austens’ sexual experience is limited and unsatisfactory at best. Now, as she turns thirty, it looks like the relationship train has missed her stop. When a friend tells her about 1Night Stand and suggests it might just change her life, she’s skeptical but shoots for the stars when asking for her perfect date. Go big or go home, right? Dean Martorino lives in the public eye. Surrounded on a daily basis by society’s idea of stunning beauty, he longs for a woman with curves he can get lost in. At the suggestion of his long-time friend and manager, Dean shares his secret with Madame Eve hoping she can find him a match to fill his arms and satisfy his desires. Can Sally accept the beauty Dean sees in her long enough to curve his appetite or will they both go home hungry? Buy Link: Decadent Publishing All Romance Ebooks Amazon Barnes & Noble Excerpt: For the umpteenth time, Dean checked his phone. Still no text. He sighed in frustration. Thirty minutes after they’d agreed to meet, and no sign of his date. His misgivings about the 1Night Stand concept weren’t eased by the fact she hadn’t arrived yet. He longed for something different, but one-night stands were not his usual idea of fun. He preferred long-term relationships. Jerry, his best friend had assured him Madame Eve’s services were more love matches than sex. He’d laughed, at first, finding the whole idea ridiculous. He doubted even the mystical Madame Eve could find his perfect woman. Jerry had laughed, too, but then he got serious and asked, “What do you have to lose?” Dean’s regular fitness regime kept him in shape and looking good for thirty-five. The women he met were stick-thin, self-obsessed, and semi-plastic, typical of the industry he worked in. Most of them were pretty, and though he’d dated a few, they weren’t what he fantasized about. No, in his dreams, the ladies all had natural and much curvier figures. Big, curvy women had always fascinated him. Because he lived his life in the public eye, he’d been reluctant to go after what he wanted. At his age, though, with his career on the downhill slide, he realized he didn’t care anymore. He’d had his time in the spotlight. He wanted to settle down and have a family. Hence, he’d decided to find someone who loved him, not his public persona. He’d spent too long denying his true identity. A knock made his heart skip a beat. She’s here. After a quick check in the mirror, he steeled himself and opened the door. His mouth went dry and all coherent thought fled. Even if he had the words to express how she blew him away, he didn’t think he could find his voice. He ogled the gorgeous, buxom brunette standing in the doorway. His admiration cut short, as her face paled. “You’re—” She stopped talking mid-sentence, her eyes rolled back into her skull. Reacting on instinct, he reached out and wrapped his hands around her waist, trying to catch her before she hit the ground. However, instead of stopping her from falling, he was pulled to the carpet, too, both of them crashing in a heap. Women fainted around him all the time. It no longer freaked him out. It was, however, the first time he’d fallen to the floor with one. Her pulse thumped strongly under his fingers. Relief washed over him; she was okay. The ridiculousness of it all hit him and a deep belly laugh escaped his lips. Even with the less than successful start to his date, the feel of her in his arms had parts of him standing to attention. His curiosity dictated he find out more. Madame Eve had made an excellent choice. She might have found the perfect woman after all.
Melissa, thanks so much for sharing with us today and please stop by again any time !
Readers, don't miss out on another great 1 Night Stand story from Decadent Publishing.
Until next time, happy reading !
