A History of MCU Mephisto Theories, From WANDAVISION to AGATHA ALL ALONG

Agatha All Along has finally confirmed that Mephisto, Marvel Comics’ stand-in for the Devil, exists in the MCU. Jennifer Kale mentions a potential “agent of Mephisto,” finally uttering his name in canon. But that brought us back to 2021, when it seemed we all thought Mephisto would appear. First in WandaVision, then other MCU projects. After all, he has a big connection to Wanda Maximoff and her twins in the pages of Marvel Comics. So there was plenty of reason to think he would show up. Yet, he never reared his giant ugly head. But now that they’ve confirmed him, (as existing anyway) let’s go back and remember all the times we thought the MCU was hinting at Mephisto back in the day. And there were quite a few times we fell into the Mephisto trap.

Mephisto as he appears in Marvel Comics.Marvel Comics “The Devil’s in the Details” Dottie Jones Is MephistoWanda, Agnes, and Dottie in the second episode of WandaVision.Marvel Studios

The actual first time we thought WandaVision was hinting at Mephisto as the super secret villain was in episode two. Still stuck in a black-and-white Bewitched scenario, they presented Dottie Jones (Emma Caulfield) as a high society woman in Westview who runs everything in town. During a planning party for an upcoming event Wanda and Agnes are attending, she tosses off the phrase “The Devil’s in the details.” Right after, Agnes slyly whispers to Wanda “That’s not the only place he is.” Was Dottie, who seemingly runs the show, really the Devil himself, a.k.a. Mephisto? Since Caulfield played “demon turned human” Anya on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, we thought her casting was a hint. Alas, Dottie was just another citizen of Westview trapped in Wanda’s hex, whose real name was Sarah Proctor.

“Unleash Hell, Demon Spawn!” Evan Peters’ Pietro Is Really MephistoWanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and her fake brother (Evan Peters) in the Halloween episode of WandaVision.Marvel Studios

We’re still a wee bit bitter that Evan Peters’“Fake Pietro” character wasn’t Quicksilver from the X-Men films as hinted at. No, he was some guy named Ralph Bohner under the spell of Agatha Harkness. This was the start of the Multiverse Saga and they didn’t lean into the Multiverse for this plot point? Way to drop the ball, Marvel! Regardless, anther theory on who “Fake Pietro” could be was that he was Mephisto himself. After all, he refers to Wanda’s kids Billy and Tommy as “demon spawn” in the Halloween episode. We thought the reference was literal, as in the comics, Wanda created Billy and Tommy from shards of Mephisto’s soul. And in that moment, it seemed Fake Pietro might be Mephisto himself. As it turned out, Fake Pietro wasn’t not the X-Men’s Pietro, he wasn’t Mephisto either.

A Secret A-List Actor Will Play Mephisto in the WandaVision FinaleBoth Visions square off in the finale of WandaVision.Marvel Studios

As WandaVision approached its endpoint, its star Paul Bettany gave an interview where he said the show had one more big surprise in store. He told the press that he would soon work with an actor “he’d never worked with before.” And he was quite excited for the opportunity. This led people to believe that we were getting an A-list actor, (perhaps Al Pacino?) to play Mephisto. They would have revealed him as the ultimate “Big Bad,” to steal a Buffy term, behind it all. In the end, the actor Bettany was talking about never having worked with was himself, as “Westview Vision” acted against “White Vision” in the series finale. Once again, Mephisto (and Al Pacino) was a no-show.

Mephisto Is the Main Villain in Spider-Man: No Way HomeThe Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser poster revealed. Marvel Studios

So WandaVision ended with no Mephisto. But that was not the end of the Mephisto theories. Because at the end of 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home was hitting theaters. The end of Far From Home saw Peter Parker’s secret identity revealed to the world, throwing his life into upheaval. In the comics when this happened, in the “One More Day” storyline, Peter Parker made a literal deal with the Devil, or in this case Mephisto, to erase the knowledge of his true identity from the world’s mind. The price in the comics was his marriage to Mary Jane. We even thought we saw Mephisto’s face in the official poster. In the actual film, it was Doctor Strange who cast the spell making the world forget who Peter really is, not Mephisto. Once again, our Mephisto dreams were dashed. The big red dude was nowhere to he found.

Mephisto is the Big Bad of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

We knew, even before it hit theaters in 2022, that the Doctor Strange sequel went through many different permutations. Its original director, Scott Derickson, left the project, and with him went the film’s original villain, Nightmare. For a moment, we believed Mephisto was replacing Nightmare, as we knew the Scarlet Witch was in the film. Would Multiverse of Madness finally give fans a Wanda vs. Mephisto confrontation? Nope, chalk this one up to another Mephisto theory that simply never materialized. We do hope we see Nightmare at some point down the line though.

Ironheart Will Finally Reveal Mephisto in the Flesh in the MCUIronheart in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.Marvel Studios

We actually had one more Mephisto theory before Agatha All Along confirmed his existence in the MCU. And they haven’t actually proven wrong yet. We know the upcoming Ironheart series is focusing on the battle between technology and mysticism. Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) represents the tech side, and Anthony Ramos’ character, the Hood, represents the supernatural. But when rumors suggested that Sacha Baron Cohen was cast in Ironheart in a secret role, speculation immediately went to his playing Mephisto. And since Ironheart is still not out yet, well, for all we know, maybe he is Mephisto!

Marvel and DC Lost Their Joint Trademark on ‘Super Hero’

A new Marvel and DC crossover event just took place. Only, we doubt either are happy it happened. The United States Trademark Office has cancelled the two companies’ joint ownership of the term “Super Hero.”

Reuters reports that a tribunal at the U.S. Trademark Office ruled against Disney and Warner Bros. after both failed to respond to an official request. The small London-based company Superbabies had challenged the long-held ownership of the term “Super Hero.” When the two conglomerates did not formally respond to the petition by the July 24, 2024 deadline, the Trademark Office formally ruled in favor of artist S.J. Richold and Superbabies Ltd. The term “Super Hero,” which Marvel and DC had both legally claimed since 1967, now enters the public domain.

In a press release, the lawyers for Richold and Superbabies (Reichman Jorgensen Lehman & Feldberg) said they filed their original petition after Disney and Warner Bros. “attempted to block” the artist’s attempts to promote his company. The law firm said they won their case by charting “the history of the SUPER HERO trademarks” and showing “how Marvel and DC used the marks to stifle competition and oust small and independent comic creators.”

RJLF also wrote this is a triumph for everyone who wished to tell stories about super beings. “Securing this result is not just a win for our client but a victory for creativity and innovation,” said lead attorney Adam Adler in a statement. “By establishing SUPER HEROES’ place in the public domain, we safeguard it as a symbol of heroism available to all storytellers.”

What will this mean for Marvel and DC? They’ll continue to be billion-dollar behemoths who dominate the industry in all facets for many years. They just won’t be able to harass anyone else who tries to cut in on the super hero action.

JOHN WICK Returns to Movie Theaters for 10th Anniversary, Will Preview BALLERINA Spinoff

People keep asking if he’s back…Well yeah, I’m thinking he’s back. Who? Well, of course, John Wick is BACK. Okay, we’re not talking about a new installment to the John Wick franchise, but it is time to get excited for a re-release of the film that started it all. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Keanu Reeves-led action franchise, John Wick will return to movie theaters in early November.

The original John Wick film introduces us to the vengeful assassin as a group of mysterious men steal his Mustang and kill his Beagle puppy given to him by his deceased wife. This leads Wick to exit his retirement to avenge his losses. And it leads us into an exciting franchise that has gone way beyond just one movie.

John Wick will screen in movie theaters nationwide for two nights only. You can catch it on the big screen on November 3 and 6. But that’s not all you’ll see if give John Wick another whirl (or a first go) in theaters. Included with the screening is an exclusive sneak peek at the franchise’s upcoming spinoff film, Ballerina. Ana de Armas stars in Ballerina, which follows John Wick’s character, Eve Macarro, as she learns the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.

The John Wick universe is expanding, so it’s fitting time to get the film that started it all back in movie theaters. In addition to Ballerina, there is also another spinoff film in the works right now about Donnie Yen’s assassin character, as well as a new series, John Wick: Under the High Table. Additionally, a John Wick experience is opening in Las Vegas later this year.

I will definitely avert my eyes during the Beagle’s demise, but otherwise, my eyes will be glued to Reeves’ crazy stunts. Tickets for John Wick‘s return to movie theaters are available to purchase on the Fathom Events website.

What Really Happened to Agatha’s Missing Son? AGATHA ALL ALONG Suggests She’s a Victim, Not a Villain

Potions witch Jennifer Kale says no one knows for sure what happened to Agatha Harkness’ son, but some speak of a sinister swap. They say the power-hungry Agatha traded her child for the Book of the Damned. Teen thinks “that can’t be true,” but why? This is the most notorious witch on the continent, the same one who manipulated Wanda Maximoff and killed her own coven long ago. If anyone is capable of swapping her son for the Darkhold, it’s Agatha Harkness. And yet, Agatha All Along is suggesting something very different about its infamous magic user. Agatha’s story might be a lot less evil and a lot more tragic than she wants anyone to know.

What Did WandaVision Reveal About Agatha Harkness’ Past?Agatha Harkness tied to a stake as a coven of witches surrounds her at night in the woodsMarvel Studios

WandaVision showed a flashback to 1693 when Agatha’s coven tried to kill her. The Salem witches said Agatha betrayed them by stealing “knowledge” above her “age and station.” For the crime of practicing “the darkest of magic,” they sentenced her to death. Agatha All Along‘s premiere revealed a literal death sentence was even more serious than we realized. Rio Vidal said witches are barred from killing their own kind. Agatha must have committed the most serious of sins to earn her sentence.

A defiant Agatha first said she did not break the coven’s rules, but rather that the rules “simply bent” to her power. She then said she couldn’t control “it” and begged for their help. But her own mother ignored her pleas, saying Agatha was incapable of being good.

Agatha avoided her fate by using her incredible gift of absorbing the power of others, killing her coven instead. WandaVision suggested Agatha’s crimes and her awesome powers were all related to her use of the Darkhold. That would explain why her Mother said Agatha could not be good. Those who use the Book of the Damned, even well-intentioned magic users like Wanda and Doctor Strange Variants in Multiverse of Madness, did lose themselves to the book’s evil.

Agatha Harkness tied to a stake on WandaVisionMarvel Studios

WandaVision‘s flashback to Salem (recreated by Agatha herself) presented Ms. Harkness as the clear villain of the story. She was a dangerous witch in possession of banned dark magic. But Agatha All Along changed what we thought we knew about that scene and what really happened to Agatha.

What Did Rio Vidal Reveal About Agatha Harkness on Agatha All Along?

Aubrey Plaza’s mysterious Rio Vidal has clearly had a long and complicated relationship with Agatha. Rio helped Agatha break free of Wanda’s spell, but then she attacked Agatha and wished her dead. Does she hate Agatha like she said? Or does she still love Agatha as she once had? It’s probably both, and we might already know why.

Aubrey Plaza dressed as a cop in a morgue on Agatha All AlongMarvel Studios

Rio also said a witch locking Agatha inside her own mind was “not the first time” Agatha’s kin “betrayed” her. If Agatha’s coven betrayed her long ago, that flips her entire trial and near-execution. Agatha might not have been the villain at all, but rather the victim.

The victim of what, though? She didn’t deny the charges. She did practice dark, forbidden magic and was in possession of the Darkhold. Agatha also took magic from others. The question that might explain everything—including both what happened with Agatha and Rio and the real story of what happened to her son—is why did Agatha want the Darkhold in the first place? In the MCU, magic users always want it for one reason.

Why Did Agatha Harkness Want the Darkhold?Agatha Harkness in WandaVisionMarvel Studios

Rio didn’t turn on Agatha until after Agatha got the Darkhold. Without knowing anything else about their relationship, that can explain why Rio both hates and loves Agatha. She loved who Agatha was before the Book of the Damned corrupted her. She hates who Agatha became after studying it.

If Rio is telling the truth (and we have no reason to doubt her) about Agatha’s coven betraying her, the stories about Agatha’s son might be completely wrong, too. More importantly, his disappearance could explain everything that has happened to Agatha and whey she became obsessed with attaining power, especially the power of the Scarlet Witch who can create life. Agatha All Along is pointing to a very different story than the one Jennifer knows.

Agatha didn’t trade her son for the Darkhold. She sought the Darkhold to get her son back.

Agatha Harkness dressed like the head of the PTO no one likes sheds a tear while kneeling to look at a bassinet on Agatha All AlongMarvel Studios

Agatha All Along‘s third episode, which first introduced the tale of an evil trade, also showed the one thing that haunts Agatha. While poisoned she saw a vision of a baby’s bassinet on the floor. As she kneeled down to look inside a single tear ran down her face. When she pulled back the blanket rather than seeing her son she saw the Darkhold itself. The normally arrogant, confident, aloof Agatha recoiled in fear and sadness, her most vulnerable, honest moment on any show yet. This delusion broke her because she is clearly haunted by the loss of her son. That was true in the show’s first sequence, too. While stuck in a faux murder drama TV show as a hard-nosed cop, she still had a room for her son Nicholas.

Did Agatha’s son die or did someone take him from her? Did her coven sacrifice him, which is why she sought power they didn’t want her to have? And did she turn to the Darkhold to get Nicholas back, just as Wanda Maximoff did to find her boys? Multiple Stephen Strange Variants did just that to save their worlds.

The floating spirit of a witch dressed inr ed and black reads a floating book on WandaVisionMarvel Studios

Powerful magic users in the MCU have a history of wanting to use the Book of the Damned for totally understandable reasons. If we had only met them for the first time after they’d read that cursed tome we’d think of them purely as villains, not as tragic heroes. What if that’s exactly what Agatha is and we just don’t know it yet?

We might find out when she reaches the end of the Witches’ Road for the second time.

Why Is Agatha Really Walking the Witches’ Road on Agatha All Along?Agatha's coven on the Witches' Road.Marvel Studios

Wanda took Agatha’s magic. She claims she wants to walk the Witches’ Road for a second time to get it back, but like everything else she says and does, there’s no reason to ever trust her stated motives. As Jennifer told Teen, “Watch your back with Agatha.”

That doesn’t mean Agatha is seeking something evil or selfish at the end of The Road, though. She might be hiding her true intentions because she refuses to be honest and vulnerable with any witches. (Your entire coven betraying you and trying to murder you will do that to a person.) What if she is walking the The Road, which “will give you the thing you want the most,” because the one thing she has wanted all this time, the reason she even wanted the Darkhold, is to get her son Nicholas back? And what if that is why she walked it in the first place even though it means almost certain death? What would be worth risking literally everything? Grief for a lost child certainly makes sense.

The Darkhold inside a bassinet on Agatha All AlongMarvel Studios

Rio, who despite what she said still helped Agatha, might be the only one who knows the actual truth about Agatha and her past. We won’t find out until Agatha Harkness gets to the end of the Road if she walked it to get her chid back.

Only, when she gets there she might learn she learn she already found her son.

Is Teen on Agatha All Along Really Agatha’s Missing Son Nicholas?Teen dressed like a boating preppy white vest on Agatha All AlongMarvel Studios

The last thing Jennifer told Teen, who has a sigil spell on him that keeps his identity a secret, is that she doubts Agatha would “even recognize her own son if he showed up at her doorstep.” It was an especially noteworthy line considering the show started with Teen showing up on Agatha’s doorstep and her not knowing who he is.

Is that because “he could be something special” as Agatha said. Or is it the other possibility she mentioned and he is “a pest that a cranky witch stashed under a rock?” Why can’t it be both? She’s a cranky witch. Maybe she stashed something special under a rock to keep him safe from dangerous witches she couldn’t trust.

Joe Locke as "Teen" and Kathryn Hahn as Agatha in Agatha All Along.Marvel Studios

Teen admires Agatha and has been helping her all along the way. The typically uncaring, cold Agatha was also very protective of him during episode three and has trusted him since he showed up. Her concern has been almost motherly at times.

Could Teen ultimately prove to be the missing Nicholas and that’s why she has bonded with him in a way she hasn’t anyone else in a long time? Or, like Agatha on WandaVision, might he prove to be the show’s secret villain who is deceiving her? We’re going to have to walk the Witches’ Road with both to find out. We’re not sure what we’ll learn about either of them when we reach the end, but we won’t be surprised to find that Agatha Harkness has never been the villain she wants us to believe.

PEAKY BLINDERS Movie Officially Begins Production

Fresh off his Oscar win for Best Actor in Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy will star in a feature film follow-up to hit period crime drama Peaky Blinders. We saw the news at Deadline. The series initially ran from 2013-2022. True to form with British productions, that nine years encompasses six seasons with a total of 36 episodes. Incredible. Anyway, series creator Steven Knight has written the script and Tom Harper will direct. Harper previously directed the final three episodes of the show’s first season.

The Peaky Blinders movie is moving forward pretty quickly because it is officially in production. The show’s social media pages shared that Murphy is back as Tommy Shelby and he looks ready to stir up more mess.

In addition to Murphy’s return, the Peaky Blinders film will also star Rebecca Ferguson, who recently starred as Lady Jessica in Dune and Dune: Part Two. As Deadline reports, her role is currently undisclosed.

When asked about the project—which had been kicking around for a bit awaiting the official greenlight—Murphy had this to say. “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me. … It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”

Knight added: “I’m genuinely thrilled that this movie is about to happen. It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war.” No idea when the movie will come out, but rest assured, those blinders will peak one more time.

Here’s The Status of Every STAR TREK TV Series and Movie

For nearly sixty years, the Star Trek franchise has been thriving on both TV and film. But it has especially flourished in the streaming era, with the Paramount+ shows of Star Trek: Discovery in 2017 and Star Trek: Picard in 2020. Discovery and Picard are both done now. So where does that leave the franchise going into the immediate future? Here is the current status of every Star Trek TV series and movie.

From L to R: Chris Pine in Star Trek: Beyond, Anson Mount in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and Michelle Yeoh in Star Trek: Section 31.Paramount Pictures/Paramount+ Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Key art from season two of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.Paramount+

This sequel to Discovery (but a prequel to the original series) features Anson Mount as Captain Pike, telling the adventures of the starship Enterprise in the days before Kirk was her captain. It’s been a very popular show with Trek fans, perhaps more than any other modern-day Trek show. Its third season debuts early in 2025. It has already been renewed for a season four, set to film early next year, probably for a 2026 release.

Star Trek: Lower Decks The crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos from Star Trek: Lower Decks.Paramount+

Another beloved show by the fandom is the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks, which premiered in 2020. Telling the adventures of the junior officers on board the Cerritos, its upcoming fifth season will sadly be its last one. The last season of the adventures of the “least important ship in all of Starfleet” premieres on Paramount+ on October 24.

Star Trek: Prodigy The crew of the animated series Star Trek: Prodigy.Paramount Television

Originally conceived as co-production between Nickelodeon and Paramount+, Prodigy is an animated series set in the 24th century timeframe after the events of Star Trek: Voyager. It aired its first season on Paramount+, but then they canceled the show after one year. Netflix picked up the nearly completed second season, where it’s currently streaming. We’ll see if the numbers were solid enough for a third season of new adventures for the young crew of the U.S.S. Protostar.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy The logo for the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.Paramount+

After many years of rumors, a Starfleet Academy series is currently shooting. The show is another spin-off of Discovery, taking place in its 32nd-century timeframe. Headlining the series is Holly Hunter, as Captain and commandant of the Academy. Paul Giamatti joins her as the show’s lead villain, and several fresh faces as the new class of Starfleet cadets. Starfleet Academy has an eye on a 2025 release date on Paramount+.

Star Trek: Section 31 Michelle Yeo as the lead character Phillipa Georgiou in Star Trek: Section 31.Paramount+

Originally intended as a series, plans changed after its star Michelle Yeoh won an Academy Award and her schedule got very busy. Now, Star Trek: Section 31 has become a film, focusing on Yeoh’s character from Discovery, the former Mirror Universe Empress Phillipa Georgiou. In Trek lore, Section 31 is the secret branch of the Federation, which does all of Starfleet’s off-the-books operations. Some of which are very shady. We expect this film to drop on Paramount+, sometime in 2025.

Untitled Star Trek Comedy SeriesPromotional image of Justin Simien and Tawny Newsome.Sarah Coulter/Paramount+

Announced at Comic-Con 2024, a Star Trek live-action comedy series is coming from Tawny Newsome and Justin Simien. Newsome famously plays Mariner on Lower Decks while Simien wrote Dear White People and directed last year’s Haunted Mansion. The premise of the show will center on “Federation Outsiders” serving on “a gleaming resort planet.” They eventually learn all of their exploits are entertainment for the entire quadrant. No production or release date is known for this series as of yet.

Star Trek Prequel Film

Toby Haynes, who directed episodes of Andor, will direct this newest Trek film, with screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith providing the script. It’s supposedly about humanity’s first contact with aliens, which leads to the Star Trek future. It will not be called First Contact though, that name is taken. Paramount has released no production start date or release window. They intend for this film to get a theatrical release, but it’s not the only Star Trek feature in the pipeline.

Star Trek 4 (a.k.a. Star Trek 14)Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine as the alternate universe Spock and Kirk.Paramount Pictures

One more film starring the crew of J.J. Abrams’ 2009 Star Trek reboot, with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto as Kirk and Spock once more, has been in the planning stages for the better part of eight years. It has gone through many writers, and at least three directors, since they first announced it after 2016’s Star Trek Beyond. The latest information says that Paramount has hired Steve Yockey, the co-creator of Max’s series The Flight Attendant, to write the screenplay. Paramount intends this film as the final chapter of the Kelvin timeline series.

Star Trek: Legacy The Enterprise-G, from the third season of Star Trek: Picard.Paramount+

This one was never officially announced, but fans have been begging for it all the same. When Star Trek: Picard ended after its incredibly popular third season, showrunner Terry Matalas left the final episode setting up a new series that would continue the adventures of the newly christened Enterprise-G, with Captain Seven of Nine in command. He even revealed the name of the series — Star Trek: Legacy. The cast wants to do it, Terry Matalas wants to do it, and everyone is just waiting for Paramount to pull the trigger.

A MINECRAFT MOVIE Clip Reveals Live-Action Crafting Table and Cubic Swords

The first trailer for A Minecraft Movie was absolutely wacky, but it seemed like a lot of fun. Now we have our first full clip from the live-action Minecraft movie, along with some behind-the-scenes looks and in-depth discussions about it from its creators. One of the most important parts of Minecraft, is, of course, its crafting table, which is necessary for crafting most items in the game. But what does a live-action Minecraft crafting table look like? It was an important question for the movie to answer. And in this first clip from A Minecraft Movie, we get a good look at how crafting will work in live-action, as Jack Black’s Steve teaches Jason Momoa’s Garrett and Sebastian Eugene Hansen’s Henry how to craft in the Overworld.

You can check the live-action Minecraft crafting table and more below. The A Minecraft Movie clip itself begins at the 4:51 timestamp.

Mojang’s creative director of entertainment Torfi Frans Olafsson and A Minecraft Movie director Jared Hess note that they really love the thwack of the live-action crafting table in this clip. And we have to admit it’s pretty cool. Seeing Minecraft‘s cubic swords come to life is pretty nifty too. Olafsson and Hess bandy about familiar terms when speaking of A Minecraft Movie as well. Newbs, modders, and vanilla games will all feature heavily in what’s involved. And, importantly this is A Minecraft Movie not The Minecraft Movie. As with any Minecraft adventure, what the characters bring into their crafting will heavily influence the direction of this journey. In the case of Jason Momoa’s character in this A Minecraft Movie clip, we guess that’s buckets.

A minecraft movie crafting table and swordWarner Bros.

It’s also really starting to sound like Jack Black’s Steve could be the anchor point to many different A Minecraft Movie iterations to come. But we’ll see how it goes. For now, we’ll enjoy getting to see the real-life version of Minecraft‘s cubic world in this film. It looks like much of it is was actually built with practical cubes. And we always love to see that.

To help you understand more about the clip above, A Minecraft Movie‘s synopsis is as follows:

Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn’t just help you craft, it’s essential to one’s survival!  Four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.  To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black).  Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.

The live-action Minecraft film releases on April 4, 2025.

Bill Skarsgård Brings Count Orlok to Haunting Life in NOSFERATU Trailer

It is impossible to have too many vampire stories. Sometimes they are fresh takes on the classic gothic monster. That’s what we will probably get in Sinners, an upcoming horror film by Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan. But there’s nothing like taking a tried-and-true story and giving it another update, which is what Robert Eggers is doing in this trailer for Nosferatu

Is there a more perfect person to play Count Orlok than Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok? The answer to that question is no. The object of Orlok’s affection, Ellen Hutter, is portrayed by Lily-Rose Depp and it is pretty clear that this story will be twisted and awesome. In the clip, she slowly succumbs to the calling from something that no one else quite understands. It’s a bizarre and dark look into this story about a creature who wants to consume.

Here’s a quick synopsis for Nosferatu to go along with the trailer:

Robert Eggers’ NOSFERATU is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.

What Is the Release Date for Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu Movie?

Nosferatu will bring its dark chills and thrills to theaters on December 25. What a way to celebrate Christmas Day!

How Did Carol Get to France in THE WALKING DEAD: DARYL DIXON Season 2?

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – “The Book of Carol” is here. We pick up only two weeks after the events of season one with Daryl training Laurent to kill walkers. Meanwhile, Carol is in Freeport, Maine and finally discovers that Daryl is all the way in France. She’s determined to get there and, in a miracle that only The Walking Dead universe can pull off, Carol does make it to France. Here’s how Carol ends up in France to search for Daryl in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon

Over in France, things are tense after everyone at the Nest discovers that Genet has a few of their people in captivity thanks to Pouvoir. This could compromise their safety and put Laurent in danger once again. Daryl agrees with Sylvie that they have to save them because, well, we know he loves to fight. He doubts that he could be happy at the Nest because there are people he left behind.

He wonders if his friends are thinking of him and then we cut to Carol back in the US. She goes to that junkyard where Daryl ended up being captured and begins to ask for information about “the guy who owned that bike” before Mick. (If you remember, she beat him up and stuffed him in that car trunk.) Predictably, the guys try to give her a hard time so she gets Daryl’s crossbow and makes hell for them until one guy finally admits the truth.

She eventually finds a car and takes off down the road, unsure of what to do next. Lucky for her, a small plane flies overhead, capturing her attention for a little too long. She hits a walker and crashes the car, causing a wound on her head. Still, Carol fights walkers and follows that plane towards a small abode with a greenhouse. This mini compound has gates and other forms of protection. But Carol sneaks onto the property and begins her classic “damsel in distress” routine to get a guy’s attention. His name is Ash, he lives there alone, and yes that’s his airplane. He is also very hot, but that’s not the point here.

Ash has cracked the code of surviving solo. He has a generator and a pretty decent food supply along with a literal airplane. He mainly uses it to get above everything for a while. Honestly, it is shocking that the CRM hasn’t noticed him nor taken him out yet. The next day, he goes for a quick flight to look for parts and Carol’s nosy ass goes into his shed and greenhouse to snoop around. She finds a world map but then his generator goes out and walkers get past the fence. She fights them and tears a portion of his whole greenhouse up in a walker battle.

Ash is understandably upset with her for invading his private place and tells her to leave. She apologizes and says she hopes they could become friends. He opens up to her about Avi, his son who died when he wandered off, just like what happened to Sophia. The greenhouse has a memorial spot for Avi. His son’s death explains why Ash doesn’t want to leave and go anywhere in his plane.

Instead of connecting with him over their deceased kids, Carol lies to him. She says that her daughter Sophia and husband Ed (who is also long dead) were in France when the outbreak happened and she wonders if she’s alive. It is emotionally manipulative and initially doesn’t work but Ash changes his mind and decides to take her. This is baffling because, like he said, there’s no weather forecast and communications, which makes this trip risky. Also, it has been well over a decade since the outbreak. Even if you have an address for a person, it is very unlikely that they will be there. Rick’s group even left Atlanta and ended up in Virginia! And now Daryl’s silly self is all the way in France and fighting folks!

Anyway, the power grid blows at night while Ash and Carol are working on the plane. His ethanol storage catches on fire and walkers descend upon them. So Carol gets in a plane with him and they fly out towards the sunrise and on their way to France. Of course, they don’t land in this episode but we do know that this plane will get her at least overseas. Let’s find out the rest of her journey as The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season two plays out.

(Honestly, we kinda already know that poor Ash won’t make it. The story is about Daryl and Carol and he’s merely a tool to get her from point A to point B. Hate that for him.)

CHUCKY Canceled After 3 Seasons, But Creator Says ‘He’ll Be Back’

This is certainly not the news you want to start off the spooky season with. According to a report in Variety, Syfy and USA Network have canceled the horror/comedy series Chucky after three seasons. Apparently, there was some talk of doing a shorter fourth season, or possibly a movie, to wrap up the storylines. Ultimately, those talks went nowhere. Chucky, which focuses on the killer doll who starred in seven films in the Child’s Play franchise, premiered in 2021. From the start, the series got lots of love from the fans. Series creator Don Mancini had this to say in a statement:

HE'LL BE BACK https://t.co/ZI5HEZrXrz

— Don Mancini (@RealDonMancini) September 27, 2024

I’m heartbroken over the news that Chucky won’t be coming back for a fourth season, but am so grateful for the killer three years we did have. I’d like to thank UCP/SYFY/Peacock/Eat the Cat, our awesome cast and Toronto-based crew (the best in the business), and finally, to our amazing fans, a big bloody hug. Your incredible #RenewChucky campaign really warmed Chucky’s cold heart. Chucky will return! He ALWAYS come back.

Mancini is not wrong about his creation Chucky always finding a way to come back from the grave. Many fans believed that after the 2019 reboot of Child’s Play, which Mancini was not involved with, that would be the end of the original iteration of the character. But the version voiced by Brad Dourif returned for the TV series, which ignored the events of the reboot and continued on from the original continuity. Don Mancini has written all seven Chucky films since the first Child’s Play back in 1988, never abandoning his beloved (and homicidal) Good Guys doll. You just can’t keep a good slasher down, and Chucky is no exception. Right now, it’s just a question of when, and how, Charles Lee Ray will come back to torment us all.
