Tom Holland Wears Wacky Wigs in LEGO Short Film ‘Never Stop Playing’
Tom Holland is best known for playing Peter Parker. However, he’s more than just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. The man has range, and he showed off just how wide it is in LEGO’s new commercial/short film. It features Holland promoting play by playing a whole lot of very different roles.
Holland has partnered with LEGO for a fast-paced new short film (a.k.a. a fancy ad), “Never Stop Playing.” Scored to AC/DC’s “High Voltage,” it continues LEGO’s push to encourage people of all ages to play more. The short starts with a troubled Holland filming an action movie with the total opposite message. The commercial then follows him imagining himself in different roles of all different ages. From a footballer and entrepreneur, to the owner of a gallery and an old man in his garden, Holland has a whole lot of fun in a whole lot of very silly roles. But no matter who he plays, each time he puts together two LEGO bricks they inspire him to never give up the fun of play.
Holland’s brothers Sam and Harry also make cameos in the short. That’s only fitting since the Spider-Man star says they played with them together as kids. “I loved building with LEGO bricks as a child,” Holland said in a press release. “My brothers and I would create our own wild worlds, turning the living room into a prehistoric jungle with our LEGO dinosaur set or set up racing tracks for our LEGO cars! It was fun to relive those memories on set. Becoming an official ‘Playmaker’ is very cool. No matter how busy life gets, I’ve never stopped playing…and I don’t plan to anytime soon!

Tom Holland is like us. He still likes playing with LEGO. But he probably won’t be playing an old, bald, jowly CEO again anytime soon. Sure, he might have range, but he’s still only 29.

MORTAL KOMBAT II Delayed to Summer 2026
Those of you hoping to see Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage fight in the next few months have just gotten a fatality. Mortal Kombat II, which originally had a scheduled release date of October 24 of this year, will move forward nearly seven months to May 15, 2026. This comes according to The Hollywood Reporter. It definitely seemed quite soon for the sequel to 2021’s reboot. Soon in the sense that we just had the first trailer a little over a month ago. New Line is hoping to see similar success with a mid-May release that they achieved with this year’s Final Destination: Bloodlines.
The Mortal Kombat reboot film came out at the height of mid-pandemic mixed release. So in addition to theatrical, it also hit HBO Max nearly instantly. Adapting the uber-violent fighting game juggernaut, the movie starred Lewis Tan as Cole Young, a fighter entering into a mystical tournament. Joining him were game characters Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee), Jax (Mehcad Brooks), Kano (Josh Lawson), and others. The film boasted action stars Hiroyuki Sanada, Joe Taslim, and Tadanobu Asano as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Raiden, respectively.

The biggest name addition for the sequel is the aforementioned Karl Urban as movie star-turned-warrior Johnny Cage. Other new characters include Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Martyn Ford as Shao Khan, and CJ Bloomfield as Baraka.
Mortal Kombat II will get ready to fight for box office glory May 15, 2026.

BORDERLANDS 4 Shares Plans For Post-Launch Game Content at PAX West
These days, a game isn’t over when it’s over. This can be a double-edged sword since a game can now change or be taken away without warning, but it also means that new content is constantly coming your way. Even after a game launches and you beat it, there’s more to look forward to. At its PAX West panel, Borderlands 4 revealed more about what fans could expect in the endgame and Post-Launch phases of the shooter game’s life. You can check out the full 30-minute panel below, or scroll beneath to catch the Borderlands 4 PAX West panel highlights.
Borderlands 4 will release for most platforms on September 12. And no doubt players will race to explore the new world of Kairos and all its deadly corners. However, the launch of the game marks only the beginning of the Borderlands fun heading our way. At PAX West, the game’s developers shared more about what fans can expect in the endgame and post-launch phases of Borderlands 4.
Borderlands 4 Endgame FeaturesAmong other things, players can look forward to the following endgame excitements:
A post-game difficulty option titled Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. This endgame adventure offers fans five levels to unlock that increase incrementally in difficulty. A release shares: “To access Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, simply finish the campaign with your first character. As the name implies, enemies will be much, much tougher and deadlier in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode—but the loot they drop will be appropriately powerful as a reward for your efforts… When Borderlands 4 launches, Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode will have five difficulty levels, which are unlocked incrementally by completing challenges spread across Kairos and will put your skills and Vault Hunters’ builds to the test. Once you’ve completed enough challenges, you’ll face a climactic trial: a Wildcard Mission, which tasks you with replaying a mission filled with buffed enemies who have a new set of lethal traits.”Weekly Incentives: In between bigger content drops, Borderland 4 will be offering weekly challenges and incentives to return to the game. For a new fight each week, “you should test your might against the Weekly Big Encore Boss. Everyone will get the chance to take on the same Big Encore Boss each week, which is a tougher variant with an even more rewarding loot pool. You can face off against this souped-up boss using Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine.” Additionally”, all players will get the same Weekly Wildcard Mission marked on their map, ensuring that everyone takes on the same set of additional enemy traits so the community can collectively figure out the optimal ways to overcome this challenge. Best of all, Weekly Wildcard Missions will have a guaranteed Legendary drop that you can repeatedly earn to get your ideal roll.” Finally, “Each week, Maurice’s Black Market Machine will spawn in a new location somewhere on Kairos; if you manage to find it, you’ll be able to purchase highly coveted Legendary loot for in-game cash. Although its location will be the same for all players each week, the inventory on offer in Maurice’s Black Market Machine is unique to each player. It’s worth regularly coordinating with friends and joining their game if their version of Maurice’s Black Market Machine has the perfect Legendary you’ve been looking for, and vice versa!”Exclusive endgame Firmware options. Borderlands 4‘s Firmware system will bring gear sets to the Borderlands series for the first time ever and create even more decision-making quanderies as players create their perfect builds. A release notes, “Firmware isn’t exclusive to Borderlands 4‘s endgame, as you’ll start encountering loot drops with Firmware as early as level 25. By the time you’ve reached the endgame, you’ll be well acclimated to the ways Firmware can strengthen your build—and you’ll be ready to chase after new Firmware sets that will only drop in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.”
When it comes to totally new content and paid DLCs, there’s a ton of post-launch releases to look forward to.
Story Packs. Two story packs are coming to Borderlands 4 in 2026, with the first arriving in Q1. Each Story Pack will contain the following:2 Vault Hunter Heads usable by all Vault Hunters2 Vault Hunter Heads for the new Vault Hunter4 Vault Hunter Skins usable by all Vault Hunters4 Weapon Skins2 Vehicle Paintjobs3 ECHO-4 Drone Skin & Attachments1 ECHO-4 FrameThe first story pack will be “a bloody, cosmic-horror-inspired tale entitled Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned. As you might’ve guessed, it stars the one-and-only Ellie, Pandoran mechanic extraordinaire and daughter of Moxxi.”The second story pack is not yet announced. The Bounty Pack. Borderlands 4 reveals that “Bounty Packs will include new bite-sized-yet-flavorful narrative content, along with new gear to earn and cosmetics to collect—plus a Vault Card that lets you unlock additional loot through gameplay. Four Bounty Packs are included in the Bounty Pack Bundle that comes with the Deluxe Edition and Super Deluxe Edition of Borderlands 4.” Additionally, “Each Bounty Pack features new Main Missions, revealing more about the various NPCs of Kairos, as well as a new Boss to take down; our first Bounty Pack focuses on Rush, the affable leader of the Outbounders faction stationed in the Fadefields. You can also expect loot in the form of a new Legendary Gear drop, a Vault Hunter Skin usable by all Vault Hunters, an ECHO-4 Drone Skin, and a new Digirunner Vehicle. You’ll also get a Vault Card, with its unique set of 24 cosmetic items and four pieces of re-rollable gear (separate from the Legendary Gear included in the Bounty Pack) that you’ll earn through gameplay. All non-cosmetic Vault Card gear can be earned repeatedly until you roll one with stats that perfectly suit your build.”As for free content, expect newer, harder-to-beat bosses, called Invincible Bosses, to drop a few months after launch. Additionally, seasonal Mini-Events will take place in the game, kicking off with Horrors of Kairos, a spooky event for Halloween in October. There will also be weekly challenges, Pearlescent gear drops, and free updates to Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, which add additional levels of difficulty that players can unlock via gameplay.
The official synopsis for Borderlands 4 shares:
Borderlands 4 is a mayhem-fueled looter shooter, jam-packed with billions of weapons, outrageous enemies, and intense co-op action.

Ridley Scott Reveals He Turned Down $20 Million to Direct TERMINATOR 3
Seven years after Ridley Scott directed Alien, James Cameron directed the very first sequel to his film with Aliens. According to a report in The Guardian (via Deadline), almost twenty years later, Ridley Scott had the chance to return the favor and direct a follow-up to Cameron’s Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. But the celebrated director said he turned down a twenty-million-dollar payday to take the helm of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, despite the money. Scott said he believed he’d “F*#% it up” by attempting to make it “too real.” Here’s what he had to say:
I’m proud about this. I turned down a $20M fee. See, I can’t be bought, dude. Someone said: ‘Ask what Arnie gets.’ I thought: ‘I’ll try it out.’ I said: ‘I want what Arnie gets.’ When they said yes, I thought: ‘Fuck me.’ But I couldn’t do it. It’s not my thing. It’s like doing a Bond movie. The essence of a Bond movie is fun and camp. Terminator [as a franchise] is pure comic strip. I would try to make it real. That’s why they’ve never asked me to do a Bond movie, because I could fuck it up.

It’s fascinating that Scott thinks that Terminator and T2 were campy, as they’ve been hailed by many as fairly gritty sci-fi. Especially the original film. Although we suppose T2 has campier and more humorous moments. But to give credit where credit is due, Scott knew he wasn’t the right guy for the job. And he didn’t make a film he wasn’t passionate about just for the paycheck. Still, we can’t help but wonder what a Ridley Scott third Terminator film would have looked like. The T3 released in 2003, was essentially a rehash of Cameron’s second film. So we’re pretty sure Scott’s version would have been more interesting, if nothing else.

Alan Ritchson Won’t Play Batman, But Might Still Join the DCU
Now that James Gunn’s DCU is off and running and we have more than a half-dozen heroes already cast, the biggest lingering question is (and will remain), “Who will play Batman?” Whether Gunn and his DC Studios partner Peter Safran intend to cast the Caped Crusader prior to the culmination of Matt Reeves’ The Batman Epic Crime Saga remains to be seen, but that hasn’t stopped fans from trying to guess who Bruce Wayne might be. One popular fan cast was Reacher star Alan Ritchson. The actor himself made it very clear he wanted the role. According to a new interview, Ritchson won’t play Batman.Prime Video
In an interview with Variety (which we first saw via IGN), Ritchson confirmed he and Gunn are mutual fans of each other. He also confirmed he did have a conversation with Gunn about the Dark Knight.
“I don’t want to mislead people. Words have been exchanged about Batman. But I strongly don’t think that Batman is in my future. I do think there is something in my future with DC. And I would like that to remain true.”
That seems to indicate what we had assumed for a while. That Gunn has a plan for Batman. If it will follow the Batman and Son formula Gunn hinted at during the initial announcement, that means a slightly older Batman. Ritchson is 42 and has three children, so it’s not like it’s an impossibility, but maybe Gunn has a specific thing in mind. However, Ritchson not playing Batman does open him up to playing a number of other characters. Maybe Deathstroke in the apparent team-up movie with Bane. Our resident DC-head Eric Diaz maintains Ritchson should play New God Orion. So that’s an option too.

But you know who else isn’t playing Batman? Chris Pratt. Gunn recently said his Guardians of the Galaxy star (lord) has had conversations about joining the DCU, but as “something else.” While I would have enjoyed Ritchson’s take on Batman, I’m glad to hear Pratt won’t play him either. That is not good casting, and Gunn knows it.
So, who will play the DCU’s Dark Knight? The search goes on.

Yeah, We Love Miller High Life’s Boozy Ice Cream Beer Push Pops
I love Miller High Life. Not ironically, either. Its moniker as the “Champagne of Beers” is well-earned. I more than proved my commitment to the brew in 2023. I turned a bizarre box of food-flavored Miller High Life-infused chocolates into an indulgent evening of dining and drinking. So yeah, obviously I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the company’s new boozy, limited-edition sweet treat. This summer the company released alcoholic ice cream push-pops.
Could an eminently drinkable lager, inspired by a beer cocktail, really work as a delicious dessert? You better believe it, because Tipsy Scoop and Miller High Life’s Spaghett-sicle is even better than I’d hoped.

The Spaghett-sicle takes its inspiration from the spaghett. It’s a beer cocktail made by adding a dash of apertif and a splash of lemon to a cold Miller High Life. The Spaghett-sicle features the same ingredients. That’s why it’s only for those 21 years of age and older. Each pop is made with actual Miller High Life and contains an ABV of up to 5%.
Miller High Life and Tipsy Scoop’s official description pushes the ice cream’s “sparkling effervescence.” They say it has an “unmistakable crisp Miller High Life flavor, with its champagne-like fizz” and “delivers a pop of refreshment. It also notes its layered bittersweet notes” of “bold bitter orange, bright lemon, and herbal notes” that “mingle perfectly with High Life’s maltiness.” And they say it ends with a “citrus finish.” They describe that as a “bright citrus zing” that” rounds out each refreshing taste, reminiscent of the perfect squeeze of fresh citrus that completes a proper spaghett.”

I’m here to tell you it smells like beer. When you take off a pop’s plastic lid you can smell the Miller High Life. It’s not overwhelming, but it’s the dominant aroma. However, when you actually eat it you mostly taste the ice cream. The fancy description is spot on. The simple description is that reminds me of an orange sorbet. It’s sweet (though not overly sweet like a crappy pre-made boozy slushy). It’s also citrusy and refreshing and gooood.
You definitely get the beer flavor at the tail end. It’s not too strong, but it’s there. The more you eat the more the beer lingers, too. So while this is an ice cream-forward experience, it’s still very much for fans of beer.

And beer fans agree about this frozen boozy concoction. Goldbelly is currently out of six-pack boxes ($59.95). But don’t worry, it says it’s restocking the Spaghet-sicle.
Rejoice, fellow fans of Miller High Life fans. It will continue to not only be the Champagne of Beers, it’ll continue to be the Beer of Freezers.

7 Indie Games You Should Be Playing Right Now
Right now, there are plenty of TV shows and movies to watch as well as no shortage of games to play.
Indie games have been all the rage in the last few years. I’ll never get tired of what I like to call the “Indie Magic” of it all. Without relying on half the marketing and budgeting that triple-A games have readily available, some indie games manage to astonish and impress without all the pzazz of the bigger titles. This allows gamers to focus on what they’re truly there for: the game.
It’s not about which studio made it, who’s voicing whom, nor who scored the soundtrack, but instead the core of the game. The beauty of indie games really lies in how there are no limits to what indie developers can create. Their imaginations and creative juices flow wildly, bringing worlds we’ve yet to see and refreshing characters to life with just a smidge of the budget of the Big Guys.
The devs’ passion and dedication for their projects are felt immensely in each title, and there are countless incredible indie games out there to enjoy. But there are a few specific games I’d like to bring to your attention. Each of them are entertaining as you’d expect a major title to and thus deserve some recognition and playtime.
Here are 7 indie games that you’re probably sleeping on:
Hell Clock (2025)
Brazilian studio Rogue Snail absolutely nailed it with this title. Much like other Roguelikes and ARPGs, time is not your friend in Hell Clock. This very original game is based on one of the bloodiest civil conflicts in Brazilian history, the War of Canudos, while adding supernatural elements like the undead for an entertaining twist.
Hell Clock offers two different game modes for its variety of players. One mode allows the game to be experienced as it was meant to be: fast-paced, unforgiving, chaotic, challenging. The other game mode allows the gamer to take their time with the levels by not running a clock, which lets players finish the level they’re on without the constant fear of time running out and having to start all over again.
Hell Clock is currently available on Steam.
BOKURA: planet (2025)
BOKURA: planet by Tokoronyori is the kind of game that truly disguises itself with a cute interface but suckerpunches the gamers with high levels of emotional damage. Notice I said gamers, plural. BOKURA: planet is a co-op only game, meaning you absolutely cannot play it alone. The game relies on two players solving puzzles together, only by means of verbal communication, in order for its very interesting couple of characters to continue to explore this bizarre planet they find themselves on.
Expect a lot of gut punches and pensive moments with this one, I won’t say more because I refuse to spoil it for you.
BOKURA: planet is available on Steam.
My Little Universe (2025)
If you’re looking for a family-friendly game that everyone of any age can enjoy, look no further. My Little Universe by Estoty is the type of game one can lose themselves in for hours at a time, easily. Players work together to craft entire planets and evolve through technological ages as you upgrade your tools and weapons. You can mine for ore, slash for wood, sail across the sea to different islands, unlock cool costumes and outfits, fight baddies and monsters, and solve fun puzzles that will have you hopping from planet to planet without realizing how long you’ve been at it.
My Little Universe is available on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
Sensei! I Like You So Much (2025)
Ready to get your write on?
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be a professional fan fiction writer, LaoO Studios’ Sensei! I Like You So Much will take you by the hand and guide you through it all. This really fun and unique fan fiction writer simulator puts players in the shoes of Mila, a writer obsessed with her little fandom. She begins to write fan fiction and gather followers and fans as they gain momentum. The game takes you through every aspect of the hobby (profession?) with hilarious writing prompts and sessions.
Sensei! I Like You So Much is available on Steam.
Spirit City: Lo-fi Sessions (2023)
This is the kind of game to turn on and leave it playing all day. Mooncube Games’ Spirit City: Lo-fi Sessions is the mother of all cozy games.
With a collection of lo-fi music that makes my Spotify playlist cry out of jealousy, Spirit City allows players to get organized and cozy. Pomodoro timers, journals, to-do lists, habit tracker – this game has everything you need to stay productive and on top of things throughout your day while jamming to some sweet tracks.
You can customize your entire apartment and character, and find different combinations of activities and sounds to spawn little spirits, which you then add to your collection. I can’t tell you how many hours I have on this game from leaving it on and doing my thing, but I can tell you how much it’s helped me feel like I actually did something productive with my time.
Spirit City: Lo-fi Sessions is available on Steam.
Storyteller (2023)
Who doesn’t love a good fairy tale?
Annapurna Interactive’s Storyteller lets the player become the master of stories by having them make story panels that tell the tale described on each individual story title. Classic “evil queen kills pretty princess out of jealousy” and all, the player has to choose the correct characters and backdrops to make the right scenes and unlock the entire story.
Some stories have multiple endings, adding to the fun and making the player think outside the box. My favorite thing about it is how the game interacts with the player when a panel or character is used incorrectly. This game also does not give you hints in the slightest about what goes where with whom. It’s just you and your puzzle-solving skills on this one.
Storyteller is available on the Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
Everdeep Aurora (2025)
Imagine a memory game and a puzzle-solving game had a baby. Nautilus Games’ Everdeep Aurora is very much a successful (though sometimes frustrating) combination of both game types with cute pixel graphics and a pretty good story. You play as a cat in search of her mother during a meteor shower. And you must find refuge in the Underground while solving puzzles, drilling, exploring, and doing side quests to help NPCs while you make your way to her.
Nostalgia knocks hard when it comes to the pixelated graphics and overall atmosphere of the game. The cuteness rivals games like Undertale but with a longer gameplay time, and it also has multiple endings for the player to discover.
Everdeep Aurora is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC.

BACK TO THE FUTURE’s Special 4DX Screening Gets Its Own Rad Poster
Universal Pictures wants you to go back… to the theater! This year Back to the Future is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Yes, seriously. It’s been 40 years since Marty McFly accidentally took Doc Brown’s time traveling DeLorean to 1955. You’d think by now every fan would have experienced this perfect movie in every way possible. But this big milestone has arrived with a whole new way to watch. Universal Pictures is bringing it back to the big screen on October 31, and this re-release will include a limited engagement in 4D.
And, we at Nerdist have your exclusive first look at the new poster for Back to the Future 4DX.

Universal Pictures and 4DX are teaming up for an immersive, multi-sensory Back to the Future experience. They’re going to let moviegoers feel like they’re actually flying in the DeLorean themselves. For the first time ever, the film will run in 4DX theaters.
“Back to the Future is one of the most iconic films of the last half-century,” said Jim Orr, President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution for Universal Pictures, in a statement. “The film’s wit, wonder and wildly original storytelling continue to captivate audiences of all ages. With the first-ever release of the film in 4DX, this 40th anniversary celebration offers fans the most immersive ways yet to strapping into a DeLorean ride, where every jolt, burst of wind, and seat vibration brings time travel to life. It’s the ultimate blend of adrenaline and nostalgia—immersing audiences as if they’re being pulled through the space-time continuum with special effects including motion-synchronized seats, wind, fog, rain, lightning, snow, and vibration.”
The movie’s original 4DX poster captures the energy of both the film and its upcoming 4DX screenings. It puts us inside the DeLorean with Marty. We even see him hitting 88 miles per hour as the space-time continuum opens in front of him. Above, the car’s rearview mirror captures the flaming tire tracks Marty left behind.
Obviously there’s no plutonium in sight. If only…
In classic Back to the Future fashion, fans won’t need roads for this first-of-its-kind screening. Their theater seats will move for them. They will however, need 4DX tickets, and you can order yours here.

Elijah Wood Says READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME Will Deepen This World’s Mythology
When it comes to Final Girls, one of the best is undoubtedly Samara Weaving’s Grace le Domas in Ready or Not. She goes from having the best day of her life to fighting for her life in the span of one night. Just imagine the horror of your newly minted in-laws trying to kill you in the name of a nasty family curse. The final scene of Ready or Not is a classic and fans have always wondered what happened to Grace after that harrowing experience. Now, we will get answers because Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is in the works with Samara Weaving and Radio Silence returning and it will hit theaters on April 10, 2026.
Writer Guy Busick spoke with Comicbook.com about the Ready or Not sequel, revealing how much time will pass between the two films.
“[The] movie picks up the second after the first movie ends. Grace wakes up in the hospital,” he affirmed. “No time has passed for her. The last thing she remembers is her in-laws exploded, including her new husband. They exploded in front of her and covered her in blood. She went outside and had her cigarette. The EMTs and fire department came. The credits roll and it picks up right there. Worldbuilding was important to us in that even in the first one, we were asking ourselves, ‘The Le Domas aren’t the only family that has done that.’”

We cannot wait to see what we find out next. Busick also said that the Radio Silence team drew inspiration from other major sequel films to craft this next chapter. And, according to a recent Bloody Disgusting interview with Elijah Wood, the film will add more context to what’s happening in this world.
“What I love about this sequel is that it really deepens that mythology, so I’m stoked for people to see it,” said Wood. “It’s a movie that takes place almost immediately after the first one ends and enriches everything you love about the original film.”
“… Radio Silence, the producers, Ryan and myself … over and over again are Aliens and Terminator 2,” he said. “How do you blow it up in a way that isn’t even the same genre, but hits all the notes and has the same DNA?”
The creative collective and Weaving recently worked together on Scream VI, where she portrayed the ill-fated professor who died in the opening scene. According to Deadline, Samara Weaving previously spoke about the possibility of a Ready or Not 2 film with Radio Silence. “I’m all in,” she said. “I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in…I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together.”

Additionally, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, and David Cronenberg are coming onboard Ready or Not 2. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Lisa Frankenstein actress Kathryn Newton previously joined the cast.
