December Books Date Forthcoming
The third book is nearly finished with editing and so I am working on a date for release for the book. In addition to releasing my newest novel, I will re-release my first two books in my Guardian Chronicles series. I am also working with a photographer on a Christmas book for my son. The hope is to get this out and available in time for Christmas as well.
I look forward to hearing what you all think about the books. After Christmas I will continue my work on the fourth novel in the Guardian Chronicles. I am hoping that I can release that novel by June. The fifth book would be another holiday release. After that, I will have the last novel in the series to finish for a spring release date.
I am also trying to study up for my PMP certification test I have to take in December. So, I am working hard to finish the editing for the first three books in the next week or two. Since this will be my second try at the test I ask for everyone to say a little prayer for me. It never hurts.
I also want to let you know that I will be launching a new website in December. It will be www.stevenrburke.com. I will be reviewing the site with the developer of the site, David Cothran, this week. I will be traveling with my family to Disneyland this Saturday and will stay down there the entire week of Thanksgiving. I will then pick up work on the website once I get back.
I hope that you all have a great Thanksgiving and that you are able to spend time with family and/or friends. If you need to escape the family and/or friends for a little while, I would recommend a good book.

Thanks to All Veterans!
I wanted to take time on my birthday to show my appreciation for all the men and women who have served and are currently serving in one of the branches of our armed forces. Their sacrifice does not go unnoticed by me or my family. We sincerely appreciate all those who were/are brave enough to serve.
I had dreamed of joining the armed forces all my life but was not able to due to health restrictions. I am ever so thankful for those who are able to serve and choose to do so. I believe that our freedoms, interests, and person security are worth protecting.
I hope that each of you take a moment today to find a veteran to thank. Go out of your way to make sure they know they are appreciated and loved.
May God bless those that serve and bless them and their families for their sacrifices!

The New Christmas Story
While traveling for work to Massachusetts I had inspiration to write a story for my son who is 3 and has Autism. I have always feared that I could not write a story for young children. I have written the first paragraph and I must say I am impressed. I need to find an artist, however, in the meantime I am going to write this story.
It is a Christmas story from the point of view of a child with Autism. There will be Christmas adventures and lots of love and joy. I am hoping to have the story written prior to Christmas so I can read it to my son.
The full title of the book will be "The New Christmas Story: An Angel in Your Midst". I am not a crier at all, however, I do get misty eyed just thinking of this story. I hope that when it is done that you will be touched as well.

Personal Update
Over that last 7 years I have been dealing with various sources of pain which has hampered my work on my books. This last week the pain came to a peak and I simply had to try something to deal with the constant pain. So, I got into my doctor and learned that I had fibromyalgia. Essentially this is explained so many issues I had been struggling with.
You would think I believed the doctor when she said that she could help me to manage the pain. I was not so pessimistic when she said it did not require narcotics...which I am not a fan of. They always made me sick when I used them, so I was leery of using narcotics over any prolonged period of time.
One full day after being on a medication to help manage the pain, I wanted to get right on the phone and call my doctor. I wanted to thank her for really listening to me and for focusing on the source of the problem. She has been able to treat the real problem after all these years. I finally am able to manage my pain and now I can really focus on my writing again.
I am still on target for releasing book 3 before the end of the year. I am looking for someone to do artwork, so that is in progress. If anyone happens to know someone, please let me know.
