Literary writers, we are not alone – meet Main Street Writers
Wonderful Initiative revealed in today’s re-blog :-)
While I’d never claim that genre writers ‘have it easy’ in this publishing ecosystem, they have undeniable advantages – they plug into well established tribes.
Literary fiction is much more about individual visions and the people who don’t fit. And if you’re publishing literary fiction as an indie, you’re usually a tribe of one, squeaking your tiny squeak in a roaring wind. I have friends in mainstream publishing who give...

That’s a Much longer story…
So, the best way to let you know why I like my new/old/new cafe is to choose my best reasons from this article: 20 Reasons Why Creative...

Friday Story Bazaar ~ Tale Thirty
You Must Think I’m Going Crazy
by
Alexander M Zoltai
~~~~~~~~~
It started out very slyly—the thoughts felt like they were his.
The first clue something was not normal was when he started to wonder why he was having these ideas.
Yes, he’d had an interest in astronomy in his youth (and, on into his middle years); but, that ended a decade ago when he’d firmly decided his wife was more important than his all-night vigils at the telescope.
So, why was he thinking about aliens—why was he wondering...
Coffee Shop Haibun
I can’t avoid sharing today’s re-blog — since I’m getting used to a new cafe :-)
In an attempt to escape the chill in my house and save on heating bills, I took my writing to a café recently, which finally gave rise to some lighter verse. Over at dVerse Poets Pub, we are focusing on ekphrasis, combining art and poetry, allowing them to complement and lift each other. So, instead of a photo of a current Viennese coffee house, I will show you a picture by an anonymous painter...
Is It Writers Finding Readers – or – Readers Finding Writers?
If I answered my own question from the title up there, I’d have to say it’s some of both (and, the timing of which comes when is mostly incalculable)...
I’ve found yet another way for writers to go looking for readers (or, go put themselves in positions where readers can find them); but, first, I’ll share some links to past posts on the topic with a short excerpt from each:
So, How Do Writers Find Readers?
“The...
I found a recent article by Jane Friedman…
In case you’re new to this blog, here’s a bit of Jane’s Bio:
“Jane Friedman has 20 years of experience in the publishing industry, with expertise in digital media strategy for authors and publishers. She’s the co-founder and editor of The Hot Sheet, the essential publishing industry newsletter for authors, and is the former publisher of Writer’...
Libraries Win Again; And, So Do Writers . . .
Click this image to compare e-readers…
This makes the 42nd post about Libraries on this blog and the 35th post about Smashwords—and taking those last two links will show this post at the top of both lists of posts…
But, this is the first post I’ve done about Bibliotheca’s cloudLibrary…
Bibliotheca’s site says:
“The world’s leading eBook and audiobook solution, cloudLibrary is designed to be accessible to library users wherever they want to read or listen.”
So, the big news was on Smashwords’...
Bonus Post ~ Author Quote
[image error] “There are some books that refuse to be written. They stand their ground year after year and will not be persuaded. It isn’t because the book is not there and worth being written—it is only because the right form of the story does not present itself. There is only one right form for a story and if you fail to find that form the story will not tell itself.”
Samuel Langhorne Clemens created the pen name, Mark Twain — here’s an excerpt from :
Why Readers Stop Reading a Book.
Surveys always have to be approached with care and awareness of their actual usefulness; but today’s re-blog does have an *Interesting* one :-)
Recently, we here at LitWorldInterviews.com conducted a survey, “Why do you put a book down?” and through the assistance of the writing community we had a very nice response of over 100 participants (I stopped counting.). Now it’s time to share what we found.
First, I want to say why the survey was conducted. We wanted to help wri...
Passing the Baton by Maria Canela
This quote is from today’s re-blog:
“…there is nothing more beautiful than sharing a passion with young minds who need to be inspired and gain knowledge. Thankfully, literature is amazing at serving both of these purposes.”
As a new mom, it is important for me to share my love of reading with my daughter. My husband and I began reading to her while she was still in the womb, and I find it necessary to pass the love of books onto her starting at an early age. Reading to my daug...
