Marbre was confused and suspicious…
Her child was already learning and only three months from her womb; yet, she sensed a threat…
She spoke with the other mothers and the girls who would be mothers soon—they knew of no threats—all wondered what could be wrong and expressed their concern for her…
But, Marbre was not solaced by friends who couldn’t sense what she did; plus, with all the political problems plaguing the worlds, she was very glad she hadn’...

When Our Reading Lives Help Us Understand Our Life Situations by Megan Overman
Know any kids affected by financial difficulties…?
“Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.” –Mason Cooley
Everyone knows that books can provide us with fantastic worlds full of magic, characters with powers we can only dream of, and lives that we wished we lived. Although books can provide us with a much-needed escape, what if we need help in dealing with our own reality? Furthermore, what if we need help sharing our reality with others?
One re...

Soon, #Smashwords Will Be an Even Nicer Place for #Publishing…
I’ve been publishing for nearly 13 years; however, almost 7 years ago, I got very serious about it—I used FastPencil to publish a novel that I now give away on Smashwords… [image error]
The weird thing is that I’ve known Smashwords is a very cool place to publish for all those nearly 7 years; but then, I am getting fairly old, so nearly everything looks like too much work; still, Smashwords is the easiest publishing I’ve ever done…
So, why will Smashwords soon be even nicer?
A recent email from them had t...

A change is as good as a rest – the distraction project. Guest post at The Quivering Pen
Today’s re-blog is according to schedule :-)
I am so chuffed to be on The Quivering Pen books blog, the online hideout of Iraq War novelist David Abrams. I’ve been following it for years. I have shamelessly headhunted many of its guests for The Undercover Soundtrack (and yes, you’ll see David’s Soundtrack here soon).
David has a series called My First Time, where authors confess a virgin experience of writing and publishing life. I’m there today talking about distraction proje...

This Is What Happens When a Blogger Goofs; Or, My Attempt to Actually Feature Roz Morris Talking about #SelfPublishing…
So, back at the fated time of shortly after midnight, I turned one of Roz Morris’ posts into a re-blog…
Big mistake in my own estimation, since my schedule (devised after years of blogging) is “full” posts on Monday and Wednesday, new short Tales on Friday, and re-blogs on the other days (to encourage my readers to widen their travels in the blogosphere)…
And, since, back on the 10th of this month, I ignored a re-blog in favor of a full post about Roz’s new book, it only seems fair that I do...

The real schedule of a self-published book
Here’s the link to my book review of the book Roz talks about in today’s re-blog:

A report of the Frankfurt Book Fair in The Hot Sheet caught my eye this week, and I have to admit it’s got me a trifle narked. See what you think.
‘The acceptance and progress of self-publishing (or, rather, the sluggish acceptance and progress) in most countries (the US, the UK, and Germany are the e...

#Bahaullah200 ~ a #Global #BirthdayParty
This blog is nearly seven years old; and, right now, I’m writing the Most Important post I’ve ever published.
I feel what I’m about to share is vitally important…
And, even though the reason for this post is a Global Birthday Party, I need to let you know a bit of my motivation for writing it:
I completely understand when folks say, “Oh, I’m spiritual; but, definitely, not religious.”; or, “Organized religion is Dangerous.”
Both my parents were ministers; and, my two sisters also became memb...

The Prime Leader, Cerbrus, was staggeringly angry…
The Minor Leaders, all twenty-six of them, were in a meeting that he was not invited to.
They had attempted to keep it secret—he sent his best troops to bring the ingrates to his Residence.

Eighteen years before, in a mountain village, a girl was born—she had various Signs associated with her birth—her parents did all they could to keep her from discovery as the longed-for Prom...
A Creative Nonfiction ABC
Like all writing “rules” or “advice”, take what works for you and avoid the rest.
Multiple Award Winning author, C. J. Cherryh said: “No Rule Should Be Followed Off a Cliff.” :-)
