New Book Cover in the Works
I've commissioned the illustration for the book cover for the Storm Dancer sequel. Do you think that's premature?
I've only written the first six chapters of the book.
Maybe I'm crazy? What if the novel goes in a direction I hadn't planned, and the cover no longer fits the story?
On the other hand, seeing the cover may inspire my writing.
Besides, having a handsome male magician to look at can't be bad.
I love working with artists. It's so much more exciting than using stock photos. I can actually tell them "Yes, this looks nice, but make the heroes eyes darker... his shoulders broader... and please open two more buttons on his shirt."
No buttons for this book, though. Storm Dancer and the sequel are set in a fantasy world based on the Bronze Age, and people didn't have buttons then. Indeed, the hero isn't wearing much anyway besides a collar and kilt. There'll be abs and pecs on display. Very tastefully, of course.

"Six Scary Tales" series gets new covers
The new artwork and design for the Six Scary Tales books is finished.
For the earlier design, I had used a stock photo of skull. I have now replaced this with original art. I commissioned Erica Syverson to paint the new skull. My instructions were to make it creepy and atmospheric, so it reflects the style of my horror stories, and I think she's done a superb job.
You can see the new covers and read an interview with the artist here:

I've Commissioned a New Book Cover
Today, I commissioned a book cover for one of my forthcoming books: Six Historical Tales Vol. 2. I chose the same artist who painted the beautiful picture for Six Historical Tales Vol. 1, Nadica Boskovska.
I look forward what she comes up with. Seeing my stories take shape in paintings is always thrilling. Six Historical Tales Vol 1

Oooh! The Print Cover for Storm Dancer Looks Awesome
I was very happy with this book cover (a collaboration between two artists, Paul Davies and Erica Syverson). I had worked very closely with them to get it just right.
So the digital image was super... but it's nothing compared with the print!
The printed cover looks AWESOME.
The colours... the gloss... everything.
I want to dance around town, holding up the book, singing "Looking at this! Look at this!"
