Artwork Mentioned in DRAGON BOUND
I received a lovely note from a reader who asked a question regarding the artwork I mention in DRAGON BOUND. As I replied to her, I thought others might be interested in what I said:
The artwork that Dragos has displayed in his office is real—which is to say the artist and that series is real. Jane Frank is the artist, and I mention her by name in DRAGON BOUND. You can take a look at her work via Wikipedia here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Frank
All the artwork mentioned in the book is by real artists, such as Jackson Pollock, etc. The only piece that is fictional—sort of—is the statue in the lobby, and that was based on the incredible Winged Victory of Samothrace at the Louvre Museum. You can check out that wikipedia article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winged_V...
I got the chance to see the Winged Victory in person, years ago, when I was in Paris. I didn't have any warning--I just walked into a massive marble hall and there the statue was, soaring over everyone's head. It literally took my breath away, and I have never forgotten the awe I felt when I walked toward it.
I hope you enjoy this little tidbit of background information.
Best,
Thea

STORM'S HEART receives a Top Pick!
Yesterday, on Barnes and Noble's Heart to Heart blog, Marisa O'Neill gave three top picks for August. One was IN BED WITH A HIGHLANDER by Maya Banks, and the other was CHANGING THE GAME by Jaci Burton. The third was my story STORM'S HEART! You can read the wonderful review for all three books at: http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/t...
Marisa writes: "Ms. Harrison wraps her fantasy/paranormal romance inside political court intrigue, exciting action, poignant drama, fascinating characters and a unique and brilliant blend of dialogue and humor."
I'm very honored to be placed in the same company as such accomplished authors as Jaci Burton and Maya Banks, and know I have a lot to learn from them. Thank you, Marisa!

Corrected STORM'S HEART Format
An updated FYI to readers:
I've heard back from the publisher, and there was an error in the epub file. The error has been corrected and they are resending the epub file to their accounts tonight.
If you want a corrected epub file, I'm sure if you contact your digital bookseller you can get a corrected copy. In the meantime, remember--STORM'S HEART has an epilogue. In the old epub files, if you click on the link at the back of the story, you will skip the epilogue entirely.
I hope this helps!
All the best,
Thea

STORM'S HEART has an epilogue
FYI to readers:
I have heard from a few readers via twitter that the kindle edition has a formatting issue. If you click on the links at the back of STORM'S HEART you skip the epilogue entirely.
I have contacted my editor about the issue. In the meantime, there IS an epilogue, so I hope you do look for that at the end of the story!
Best regards,
Thea

STORM’S HEART Release Day Giveaway
I am so excited at the release of STORM’S HEART, the second book in my Elder Races series, my agent and I are teaming up to offer TWO fabulous giveaway prizes! I’m holding this contest on Goodreads.
The contest runs from the posting today and will end on 12 pm (noon) PDT on August 2nd.
Each of the two winners will receive: 1) a copy of DRAGON BOUND, 2) a copy of STORM’S HEART, and 3) an ARC of SERPENT’S KISS (release date October 4th).
Contest rules are as follows:

2. +1 entry. Leave a comment for me on my Goodreads blog at: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/....
You must include your email address in your comment, along with any details from steps #3 and #4.
You must set up a Goodreads account to leave comments, but this is quick, easy and free.
3. +3 entries (1 entry each) for following me on Goodreads, Twitter (@TheaHarrison) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/TheaHarrison). (You must include this information in your comment on my blog for contest credit!)

Wicked Playlist
With the help of Twitter friends, I've put together a playlist of music with a wicked theme, to listen to when I'm working on villains in stories.
1. Devil Inside, INXS
2. Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing, Chris Issaak
3. Temptation, the Tea Party
4. Sympathy for the Devil, Rolling Stones (classic!)
5. Supermassive Black Hole, Muse
6. Howl, Florence and the Machine
7. Devil Went Down to Georgia, Charlie Daniels Band
8. Evil Goin On, Jace Everett
9. Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked, Cage the Elephant
10. Poison, by Alice Cooper
11. Peel Me a Grape, Diana Krall
12. Vertigo, U2
13. Desire, U2
14. Closer, Nine Inch Nails
15. So Hott (uncensored), Kid Rock
16. I Put A Spell On You, Nina Simone
Do you know of any songs that would fit a wicked theme that I can add to the list?
