Benjamin Rubenstein began writing his memoir, Twice How I Became a Cancer-Slaying Super Man Before I Turned 21, while attending college at the University of Virginia where he also began blogging on cancerslayerblog. Twice published in 2010, and his book for people age 10 and older, Secrets of the Cancer-Slaying Super Man, published in 2014. He now writes stories that live in the space between memoir and fiction. In 2018, Benjamin earned his Master of Fine Arts in creative writing degree from University of Southern Maine's Stonecoast program.

Benjamin also speaks about adapting to life's challenges and teaches classes on how to write using plain English. Find him around Washington, D.C., both writing and sitting there not actually writing but

I'm not going to rate this because it wouldn't be fair. I reached 21 percent, and I'm good; I'll find something else to help me fall asleep.

Listening to this was an exercise in mindfulness for me. I wanted so badly to stay focused on the words, yet I

This audiobook just wasn't my thing. I guess I found it boring, and I zoned out often while listening. Still, though, I took awesome takeaways from this: be present and aware of your consciousness as your experience it, learn new ways to get better a ...more

There's some bullshitery in this book, and if you are willing to see that, you'll know it when you read it. There are also some bullshitery-squashing concepts here that are as valuable as any proven rule on food. That's that much science behind food ...more

I had one day left until the library took back the e-book version of "Sapiens" I'd checked out. At the start of that day, I hadn't gotten very far. And it's a big book filled with dense and novel concepts unworthy of being skimmed over. So I dedicate ...more
