San Diego reading and workshop this spring
Hey I'll be doing a reading from Love Hard and teaching a 2-day writing workshop on "Making the Unreal Real" this spring at San Diego Writer's Ink. The workshop will look at ways of crafting writing that effectively address deviations from the norm, as in magical realism, horror, dream-states, science fiction, and fantasy, but also in nonfiction and different subjective views of reality. New Extra-Groovy Video
This video's for my story "Everclear," which deals with both the booze and the band. The story's kind of a comedic rant about the '90s band, crosscutting with obsessive graphic analysis of the bottle's label, leading up to a more sober, self-reflective coda at an old Seattle disco, haunted by Nirvana. Anyway the video turned out to be much more loungetastic, verging on a James Bond title sequence
