The inspiration for the story in
Dark Village came from a VERY vivid nightmare Mr. 7 (my oldest) had earlier this year. But I found I still couldn't "get" the story out. Then a friend @TheGhoulGuide (on instagram) shared a photo that helped inspire more of the story. Before I knew it I was typing my little heart out and sending it to my editor for her review.
Another little bit of info for you is that my mother noticed two things when she read the story...I won't tell you the first, let's see if you figure it out. But the second was that her curio cabinet plays a part in the story. I was kind enough to remind her that piece of furniture had lived in my house for at least six and a half years.
