Book Blitz: A Midsummer Night's Demon

Announcing the official release day for my short story entitled A Midsummer Night's Demon!
I'm is so excited. This paranormal romance finally available in places other than Amazon.

Picture Synopsis:
Daelyn Torres is determined to break free from her over-protective brother. Born a demon, she knows little of the world outside her home and work. A chance blind date promises adventure and perhaps a walk on the wild side. But her night on the town takes a deadly turn when she is gravely injured and left to die. A handsome, mysterious stranger comes to her rescue and brings with him a passion she has never experienced.

A dark guardian sent to investigate a series of missing person cases, vampire Ky Robinson is ready for anything, except the insatiable desire that engulfs him when he meets Daelyn. He senses their destiny is intertwined and vows to do everything in his power to keep her safe. The only problem: demons and vampires go together like fire and ice.

Daelyn never believed in things that went bump in the night but is more than willing to be seduced by the sexy vampire who marks both her body and soul. Will Ky be able to keep them both alive long enough to prove that vampires and demons can be so much more than friends?

Excerpt:

He ghosted behind the couple. Following them on silent feet, staying deep in the shadows of the buildings. Ky noted the way the woman walked as they made their way along the sidewalk. Her legs appeared unsteady, most of her weight supported by the male’s arm around her waist, which seemed strange because she had not consumed all that much alcohol at the bar. Only two glasses of wine, by his count. The agent heard her speaking throughout the night and she had annunciated clearly. Yet now she seemed unsteady, and her words slurred as they left her lips.

She stumbled. Catching on a bit of raised sidewalk, her shoe flew off behind her in Ky’s direction. She turned and looked over her shoulder. When her eyes met his, Ky’s heart hitched in his chest, time froze.

The bronzed skin of her heart-shaped face appeared flawless. Long dark haired flowed around her shoulders with the turn of her head. Her chocolate eyes captured his, holding his gaze. The fall of her lashes broke the spell, creating dark crescents on her delicate cheekbones. Her petite nose led to full, pouty lips that sent a surge of desire through his body. His sure strides faltered under the weight of her beauty. She was a goddess.

And she was in grave danger.

Book Blitz (and author interview): Leticia by Lindsay Anne Kendall

Title: Leticia
Author: Lindsay Anne Kendall
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy

Tour Host: Lady Amber's Tours

(Don't forget to scroll all the way down for Lindsay Anne's Interview)

Picture Synopsis:
Leticia has a dark secret, and somebody somewhere knows what it is. After being tormented and brutally attacked, it becomes obvious they want her dead. A mysterious group come to her aid. They want to fight by her side and help her win the war someone has declared on her. Together, they present a force to be reckoned with. Love, loss and longing put strains on the alliance. Not only must they fight their enemies, but their own fears and desires. Leticia must also face a harsh reality. If she wants a happy future, she must first confront her past.

Excerpt:
Was this it? Was this to be my fate? Was I meant to spend the rest of my life in exile, isolation, never to interact with anyone ever again or risk losing my life? I stood there, on the edge of the deathly sharp bend in the back country road, the Devil’s Elbow, facing the crack in the hills where, according to the legend, the devil landed after being struck down by God himself; his elbow causing the gap in the hills. Behind me, the street lights of Tintwistle, Glossop and Mottram, shining so brightly that the darkening clouds above seemed to have a reddish tint to them.  The towns would be full of life, people going about their business, most of them happily enjoying a night out with their families or friends, maybe both. How I wished I could join them.

In front of me lay my fate, the steep climb to the top of the peak, then only the seemingly endless stretch of barren land. Their only decoration being old rocks, the odd stream, trees and wildflowers. Nobody would find me here. Not many people would walk up here. The land and weather could be perilous, unless people were incredibly fit and well prepared; I doubt they would tackle these hills. I would be safe and I would go un-noticed.

Picture Author Bio:

I have lived in Droylsden, Manchester, all my life. I live with my parents, my younger sister, Cheryl and her little girl Faith.

I never knew what I wanted to do with my life until I began writing. This is my dream. I get most of my inspiration from music, I’ll sit there listening to it and suddenly I’m no longer in the room. My stories play like videos in my mind, then I go and write them down.

I’m a very dark person, I love anything spooky, supernatural, or unexplainable, and so that’s the genre I want to write in for the rest of my life.

I love watching scary films, although I find it very hard to find one these days that actually frighten me.

I also love getting creative with graphics. I've designed over twenty book covers so far. I create promo art and even book trailers.

I have had a love of photography from being a child. I have literally thousands of photographs which I have taken over the years. Now, I have a professional DSLR camera and I'm looking to do photography as well as my graphics as a sideline project.

                                                                            AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
I'm thrilled to have you here today, Lindsay Anne! Please tell us a bit about yourself and your family. Don’t give away any secrets but what are you about?

I live at home with my mum, dad, sister and niece Faith. We also have a little Jack Russell and several fish. So as you can imagine, our house can be a little chaotic at times.

We're all known for being very straightforward, open and honest people. But very blunt. I myself can appear to be rather abrupt and brutal, but I never mean any harm by what I say.

I'm a very dark and rather morbid person. I have a love of anything dark, gothic and outright strange. I've never been any different. I guess I can be rather freaky at times, lol. I also spend most of my time living in a dark fantasy world.

One of your favorite quotes?

“Listen to them - children of the night. What music they make.”
Bram Stoker, Dracula

What dreams have been realized as a result of your writing?

I’ve realized that you can achieve anything as long as you are prepared to work for it.

About the book:

How did you choose the genre you write in?

Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance are the only genre’s I’ve ever wanted to write. I’ve had a love of the paranormal, fantastical creatures and horror since before I can remember. It just wouldn’t feel right writing about anything else. I don’t know if it would even be possible for me to write outside of that genre. I have I no idea what I would do.

What are you currently working on?

Well I have a book releasing on May 15th. Revelations, the last in my Bloodlines Trilogy. I’m working on Betrayal which is the sequel to Leticia, and I have self published a short story which is being turned into a series. I’m also writing an adult Urban Fantasy, but that’s very hush hush at the moment.

If you gave one of your characters an opportunity to speak for themselves, what would they say?

Leticia – “Just because you cannot see it with your own eyes, doesn’t mean they don’t exist.”

Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?

I’d like to say thank you for taking the time to read this post, and if you read any of my books, I do hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed writing them. :)

Fast Questions:

Cookies or Cake?
Cookies!

Ice tea or lemonade?
Yuk! Neither…. Pepsi Max or a Latte lol.

Night or day?
Definitely night. It wouldn’t bother me if I never saw daylight ever again.

Laptop or desktop for writing?
Laptop

Favorite color?
Black.

Sneak Peek Sunday: Weaver of Dreams

Picture In this week's Sneak Peek Zane has just joined Maggie in her nightmare and taken control of her dream, turning it into a fantasy...

“Your wish is my command.” Zane rose with her cradled in his arms. He lowered her slowly to the floor. Her body slid down his in a sensuously slow slide. Maggie could feel every hard muscle on the man through his clothes. Her hands grasped his biceps to anchor her in place as a rush of desire coursed through her.

Her eyes drank him in. Tonight he wore a pristine dark gray dress shirt, opened at the collar to reveal a tantalizing bit of tanned flesh. The cut of his tailored dress slacks fit nicely over his hips and thighs. Dark gray, like his shirt, his pants led down to classic dress shoes.

He looked like a bank executive come home after a day at the office and Maggie loved the thought of playing his loving wife. He looked good enough to eat and based on the gleam in his eyes, he felt the same way about her.

She saw the passion glisten in the depths of his eyes. His long lashes could not hide his feelings for her as he looked down at her with possession and desire so stark it burned over her, heating her skin.

Warmth spread throughout her, pooled low in her belly. Her lust rose. Before she realized the thought was in her mind, she stood on her tiptoes and locked lips with her dream man.

Their lips met in a hard, passionate kiss. His mouth opened to hers, allowed her entry into his scalding cavern of fire and heat.

Book Blitz and Giveaway: Renegade (Heven and Hell #4)                                  By Cambria Hebert

Information about Renegade

Title: Renegade (Heven and Hell #4)
Author: Cambria Hebert
Genre: Young Adult Paranormal
Release Date: May 3, 2013 (TODAY)

Picture Renegade Book Blurb: The conclusion to the Heven and Hell series:

I’ve been beautiful. I’ve been ugly. I’ve died. I’ve been brought back. I’ve had abilities awakened within me. My strength has been tested. My beliefs have been tested.

Yet I stand.

What’s next when you’ve pretty much experienced it all?

The end.

Sam and I are picking up the pieces. We’re trying to come to terms with all we’ve lost. And as much as I would like to hide my head, ignore the reality I live every day, there is no forgetting.

Riley is in hell—I’m still not sure of his agenda. My mother’s past haunts me. And Kimber… Kimber is being herself. Cole sneaks glances at Gemma and she returns them when she thinks I don’t see.

But I do.

When Beelzebub escapes he brings his war to places I never thought he would. Earth. Maine. Home. Now everyone and everything is at risk. This has become bigger than my circle of friends. This has become bigger than me. I have to finish this. I have to find a way to stop him, to finish this war.

I just pray we will all be left standing in the end.

Renegade Excerpt: Chapter One
Sam

It begins like usual, the slightest disturbance to my sleep, making me toss and turn until I’m in that place between rest and wakefulness—not fully coherent, but enough so I could have groggy thoughts.

There is pain, not the kind of pain that would make you squirm, just enough to make you feel uncomfortable. It kind of squirms around in my limbs, like adrenaline, but not as insistent, making my body twitch.

My eyes pop open, and I shoot up off the couch, not bothering to grab a T-shirt or the shorts that lay nearby. I won’t need them. I move silently like a cat—like a hound--to the door and slide the lock over and let myself out. It’s cold out. The air doesn’t shock me back into myself. I don’t even shiver.

Then I’m racing through the yard, over the grass, and past the barn. I hear the horses in their stalls, alerted at my presence, but I ignore them and keep running. My bones come unhinged and realign. My spine stretches, begins to reshape, and my body hunches. Black, thick fur sprouts, replacing the smooth skin of my human arm and then finally the switch in my brain flips.

I am no longer human.

I am hellhound.

But I’m still me.

Only this me can give in to the frustration and sadness that seems to well up inside my human skin until I’m so full and there’s nowhere else for it to go. And so it sloshes there. It soaks in until I feel like I’ll drown.

I hate it.

That’s when the hound takes over. I can’t really deny it. It’s like a summons, a calling, a command. Usually I can tell it no, or push back, but when you’re full of sloshing emotion there’s nowhere to push it back to.

So I give in.

I run.

I lose all thought.

It’s just me, the night, and nothing else. It’s a kind of freedom I’ve never felt before.

And then I wake up.

Picture Picture About the Author:

Cambria Hebert is the author of the young adult paranormal Heven and Hell series and the Death Escorts series. She loves a caramel latte, hates math and is afraid of chickens (yes, chickens). She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair. She currently lives in North Carolina with her husband and children (both human and furry) where she is plotting her next book. About the Author

Tell us a bit about yourself and your family. Don’t give away any secrets but what are you about?
You mean you don’t want to hear my deepest, darkest secrets?! *Sighs* fine. And I was going to tell you too… I mean there was this one time… oh wait. You don’t want to know. *Grins evilly*
Okay. So about me. I’m a writer and mom by day and a stripper by night. Okay, I’m not really a stripper. Ha ha ha. But sometimes I dance around in my underwear. At home. In my closet. Because when I dance anywhere else my kids tell me I’m horrible at dancing. Lol. I have a degree in cosmetology (meaning if you need a haircut or a mani/pedi call me!) but after I had my kids I decided to give writing a go – something I have been interested in since I was a teenager.
I’m also really afraid of chickens (well all birds actually) – they really do scare me. *shudders* (hey I never said that I was normal, lol). My hobbies include watching TV – my favorite shows are Vampire Diaries (totally team Damon) and Teen Wolf. I also like to garden (that means I buy pretty flowers then point to places in my yard where my husband must plant them, lol) and I also enjoy running. It’s good stress relief.

One of your favorite quotes?
“Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.” I don’t know who said it but I think it’s true. It’s all about state of mind.

What dreams have been realized as a result of your writing?
Well I have totally gotten to hang out with rock stars, ride in limos and make millions of dollars!! Oh wait. That was a dream.
Seriously, I have gotten to hold my books in my hands, meet tons of great people and prove to myself that I can do anything I put my mind too.

About the book

Tell us a little bit about your book?
Renegade is the final book (book 4) in the Heven and Hell series. It’s kind of the final battle between Heven and her greatest enemy (Beelzebub in Hell). I wanted it to be a throwback to the first book in the series but only amped up a bit.
How did you choose the genre you write in?
It’s really the genre I like to read and so I am just drawn to the paranormal/romance/fantasy worlds.

What are you currently working on?
Well currently I have 3 projects started and I am trying to figure out which one to go with…. Lol. One of the books is the next Death Escorts book.

If you gave one of your characters an opportunity to speak for themselves, what would they say?
I’m sure they would never shut up. They speak for themselves in my head all the time. That’s how Riley ended up with a motorcycle in Renegade. LOL. Oh and they would also say what a fabulous creator they have. ;)

Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?
Thank you. Thank you all for supporting this series and me. For reading it. For liking it and for buying it.

Fast Questions:
Cookies or Cake?  Cookies.
Ice tea or lemonade?  Lemonade.
Night or day? Night
Laptop or desktop for writing? Laptop
Favorite color?  Orange and Purple.

Thank You for stopping by to do this interview, Cambria. It was great finding out more about you and your work.

Nancy Straight does it again!!! That was the first thought that went through my head when I read Centaur Rivalry. Like the previous two stories, this was a non-stop, page-turning, thrill ride.
In this story Cami and Drake face enforcers, go into hiding, flee around the world, deal with prejudice, and discover a new breed of beings. They even have a pesky dog to contend with a one point and through it all their love manages to survive. Theirs is the kind of love fairy tales are made of. A modern Romeo and Juliette, only with a happy ending--at least up to this point in the series.  ;)
The Touched Series  is an original, fast-paced series. The plot grips you from page one and the writing is superb. The characters are full of life and well written. Unlike with some series, readers are treated to seeing their favorite characters again and again in each book. (And for this reader, that is a MAJOR brownie point. There is nothing I hate worse that having a character I love only appear once or twice in a series.)
If you are looking for a paranormal YA story that you won’t want to put down, a story that will make you laugh, and characters you will love, then read Centaur Rivalry.

Local police are puzzled and the town is terrified. The Admiral's Elite must find a killer, stop him without anyone finding out their true identities, and not be torn apart in the process.

Excerpt:

Becca’s eyes searched the dimly lit space to find Black easing out of his office, a nearly invisible opening in the wall on the far side of the room, and gliding forward to stand at the head of the long rectangular black table in the center of the room. An overhead set of lights washed his alabaster skin clean of details until she got close. A thick bunch of tan folders were set neatly on top of the black surface.

“Admiral Black, Sir.” Becca refrained from saluting when she reached the far end of the table; she learned in the beginning they didn’t do that here.

Obsidian eyes showing no whites, only an expanse of flat black set into white skin and topped with equally under-pigmented short hair, regarded her without expression. By some trick of the light, the immortal, soulless creature appeared strained. Could it be? She shook off the thought as impossible.

“Please, take your seat, Rebecca.”

His towering six-foot-four frame stationed at the head of the table was even more daunting when she sidled up the table to take her usual seat on his right. She tried not to be obvious as she scanned the room for Michael.

“I have asked Michael to give us a few minutes alone, if you don’t mind. We have not had the opportunity to speak without his company for some time.” Tapping a long white finger on his pointed chin, he appeared to think for a minute. “Not since you returned from the hospital, I believe.” Those flat black eyes turned toward her and his thin lips tightened into what might have been a smile. On him it was more of a grimace. Then, gracefully, he folded and took his seat.

That simple act had her heart racing. Becca had never seen the man sit before, much less smile. It freaked her out even more than his hovering aloofness. Keeping herself from making direct eye contact for long enough for him to manipulate her mind, she glanced to his nose and back every few seconds.

“Calm yourself, Rebecca. I assure you, you have nothing to fear from me.” The corner of his mouth twitched again. Another smile. “We have not had an opportunity to discuss how you are finding things here with us. You have had ample time to settle in and see how things are done here, I trust.”

If the admiral wasn’t the admiral, Becca might have been tempted to laugh. It wasn’t like she’d had a choice in her place here. Once Black decided he wanted someone that was it. It didn’t matter whether she liked it there or not. One thing was for sure, if she had to be around the chilling admiral as often as she had her previous commanding officers, she would have had a breakdown or at least developed a nervous tic or ten by now. Fortunately, she had Michael acting as a buffer between them. While that would have bothered her in her old unit in the Navy, it didn’t so much now. The less time she spent with Black the better, and Michael was her immediate supervisor. That was another can of worms entirely and not one she could open while she was with Black. One stress case was enough, thank you.

“Things are fine, Sir. Everyone is teaching me about the sorts of creatures I’m encountering and we train every day we aren’t on a mission.”

Black blinked. With his coloring and lack of visible corneas it lent him an uncanny resemblance to a snake. “Yes, Michael has kept me apprised of your progress. He reports that you are a quick learner. What has it been, five missions in two months? All presenting different obstacles, none quite so challenging as the one that nearly cost us your gift.” His white fuzz covered head wagged, more disturbed by his unit’s possible loss than the pain of the human who wielded said gift. Trust Black to leech any hint of sentimentality out of something. “However, I did not ask what you were doing. I asked how you are doing.”

“Uh…” Becca’s heart and mind went into overdrive. Immediately, she tried to calm herself. The fact that her eyesight wasn’t dancing lent her a tiny modicum of solace. If she were in danger from the admiral, her preternatural sight would have let her know. Only recently she’d discovered she could somewhat control how debilitating the effects were and since mastering that control, she hadn’t lost her vision for more than a few seconds at a time. That didn’t stop her stomach from clenching nervously now. She feared she knew where this was leading. They hadn’t spoken about the new twist on her ability since she’d jumped into Michael right in front of the their scary boss. If her damned vision hadn’t been so blurred at the time with her lover and old partner about ready to face off, she would never have done it. Now she realized what a mistake it had been. “It’s good, Sir. Everyone is very helpful and I find the work challenging as well as rewarding.”

The black eyes narrowed slightly. “Thank you for the sanitized version, Rebecca. However, I know that you are an intelligent woman. You know very well what I am asking you. Have you learned more about this jumping ability of yours?
