The Woman in My Mirror is ME!

 July 9, 2013

It was a beautiful summer day.

It’s a room full of enthusiastic women thirsting for knowledge coming together to learn, laugh and grow.

Each woman was asked to give a one-word description of  herself.

Many empowering words circled the room. There were exciting words that illuminated our differences as well as our sameness. Some of these descriptive words were beautiful, gracious, influential, vibrant, blessed, visionary, anointed and positive.

I chose bodacious because I like the way it sounds, strong and worldly.  It also leaves an imprint of emotional power.  If you think not – try this.  Pronounce each syllable slowly and purposely holding the last syllable letting it slowly roll off your tongue.  I like bodacious because it is not easy to say, and sometimes it causes people to hesitate, creating a surge of energy.

Now, there are many definitions of Bodacious. My simplified one is: a remarkable woman. Yes, I claim Bodacious as my word, not because of vanity. I simply choose to see the woman in my mirror as a remarkable woman growing into herself every single day.

Now, what is your one-word description of the woman you see in your mirror?  Please care and share and keep the conversation growing?

Please share your one-word description and your WHY (100 words or less) of the woman in your mirror – be spontaneous – chose your word and then add your WHY.

Initial your entry – or choose bold and daring (another definition of bodacious) and add your name with your comments below.

Will you share this invitation with a woman you care about.  Our combined efforts will help all of us love, learn and grow as this post and comments will be shared on a future TRSnippets Blog.

Read-On-It!

TRSnippets,_The_Book_Cover_for_KindleI asked, “Mom, are you enjoying my book?”

Hesitantly she replied “well, yeah, but it’s kind of confusing, but when I take my time and just read-on-it I like it sugar.”

WOW. Read-on-it!

Immediately, I felt some kind of way about her words I could not put my finger on as the negatives’ rush to surface.

Then.  An epiphany!

This is what I want people to do with my books.  Read-on-it.  I write to empower, encourage, enlighten and entertain.   I write to create ah ha moments and cause someone to stop and ponder an idea.

My writing is not a novel-type read creating a race to the finish to see who done it, or who’s doing it.  I am hopeful people take time to experience what I write.  To read-on–it, a page here and there, a re-read for deeper meaning and savor bits that relates.

My wise mom, with just three tiny word sums my motivation, read-on-it.  Ms. Elsie, thanks for being genuinely you.

Now, is it really a surprise, the simple wisdom of our mothers?

Those words influenced me to write this Words of Wisdom (WOW) Snippets.

She said that too often women try to keep a low profile. We remain in the background. We keep our gifts undercover with political correct language such as; it’s about my company; not about me.

Today is May 17, 2013, my day of Independence. My coming out affirms, “It is about me. I am the company. I am my brand. I am the products and services I validate. It is my story, so it is very much about me”.

It feels good to claim greatness and share our strengths with others. I say to women; stand proud and step boldly from your closet to embrace all the wonders of YOU.

As the author of Words of Wisdom (WOW) Snippets, I enjoy creating the snippets from life experiences. The snippets are short works to excite, educate, entertain, and empower a.k.a. influence hearts. Effective today, the new name is TRSnippets.

OK, when I step out, I step!
