Can this woman possibly live among people again? I think not.
How, exactly?
She won't go clubbing again except with leeches and hangers-on, and there will be other, real people in the clubs she goes to. People who want to kill her.
She is hated universally and every step she takes will be into a pile of shit.
We may not have ended her existence. We may not have extracted revenge, but think about it—her life is fucking over.
Right now she is smiling and happy about not spending the rest of her life behind bars.
Boy, is she gonna be surprised.
This is disgusting. The second that you think that you're justified in exacting whatever the fuck you think is "justice" on someone else is the moment that you need to stop. You just need to stop. We have a judicial process for a reason, and while it may be fucked up and you may not agree with verdicts and verdicts may be wrong, but we have the process for a reason.
This is fucking disgusting. This is a death threat, and it needs to stop.
I don't have much of an opinion on the Anthony case because criminal law doesn't interest me. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that a verdict in a court of law needs to be respected. If we lose respect for the law, then it is a step closer to lawlessness, when those who cannot fight and kill are conquered and those who can fight and kill become twisted gods who hold the power of life and death.
I'm not saying our criminal justice system is perfect. It isn't. But we have a system for a reason, and the answer is NEVER to get rid of the whole system.
I agree with everything you said. But the fact remains. Look at the sign for an everyday deli. I said nothing. Tell me. How is this supposedly "not guilty" woman going to live amongst people again?
