What I’m sick of is this whole fucking sense of self-righteousness they have. There is only ONE VIEW when it comes to…whatever. They’ll tell you what it is. Haha.  I am losing my support specifically for feminism simply because radical feminists are some of the creepiest, most totalitarian people I have ever encountered. Granted, these are Tumblr feminists. Not exactly the real world, haha……I have been on Tumblr nearly 6 years and I actually think I am starting to rebel against all it’s stupid assumed orthodoxy. After her Communism phase and her unshaven phase and her bad boy phase and her minivan phase, she lost herself in golf.

Saturday and Sunday she would hit the links with the bankers and the lawyers and the doctors who escort us all to death by never taking enough detours.

She would smack that mute little ball around that giant fucking yard, keeping score, an alien in her own life.

Like most people she mistakenly thought everything was supposed to be good, and she thought that maybe golf could give that her, could give that to her real good.

But golf never gave anyone anything except a spoiled walk and a metal club too dangerous to carry in the rain.

She was not young enough for a new phase now, she thought, staring down the barrel of her daughter’s second divorce.

So she kept at it, kept smacking that mute little ball around that giant fucking yard, smacking it harder with every passing year till her joints gave way and her organs were crushed with time done spent.

Then one day, like each of us, she lay dying.

And the demons who haunted her, who nipped at her very heels, snickered evilly in their barren and howling hell holes, where in the darkness, they hide, eyes glinting with glee like flawed but beautiful jewels of no value whatsoever.

i have recently been getting into homebrewing. i made a couple batches of hard cider with wild yeast and they all came out pretty good, if not a bit sour. i was wondering if there was any advice you could give me about fermenting cider with store bought ye

I actually think the differences between store-bought regular yeast used for baking bread and those used for brewing have been over-hyped. They are the exact same species, Saccharomyces cerevisiae. I have brewed with store yeast several times and the only time I noticed an off-flavor (a sort of graininess or breadiness) was when I used a whole bunch of the stuff, like the entire packet. When I scaled it back to a quarter of a teaspoon per gallon, all was well. That would be my main recommendation. Homebrewers always tend to “over-pitch” yeast. As for your wild yeast sourness, it was probably caused by a harmless bacterium, Lactobacillus, which produced lactic acid. it’s what gives Belgian beers their characteristc sourness. Coupled with the already present malic acid in apples, it can be quite sour. Personally, I love sour, but your MMV. But when using any yeast but especially store bought, use very little. Like I said, a quarter of a teaspoon. I have even used less, like an 8th. It will take a little while for the yeast to reproduce and create a population, so patience. Good luck!
