Guy walks through the massive pileup over in Wyoming that occurred the day before yesterday. Guy claims two are dead, but, amazingly, no one was killed. Pretty apocalyptic.

It only rained here.

So my best friend who I haven’t seen in forever showed up for my birthday.

Drinking like Vietnam vets even though we’re only Desert Storm. He’s going bald so I shaved his head. I made him kolaces, too. I only burned them a little.

Social D all day.

A Turkish official taunts starving Armenian children with a hunk of bread during the Armenian Genocide of 1915, which began 100 years ago this month.

It ain’t all brain chemistry and psychology, folks. Evil exists.

The mushroom dish was excellent, by the way.

Definitely for those who LOVE mushrooms, though, like me and hobbits. The peppered bacon was a nice touch and they were subtly spicy.

Today’s my birthday so wish me happy birthday :) Woohoo!

Off I go.

Tolkien was very fond of mushrooms,

which means hobbits are very fond of mushrooms. He was fond of pipe smoking as well, and fine ale and peace and quiet and good tilled earth.

Rereading the LOTR, I discovered something of a recipe and am now trying to duplicate it. Not much can be gathered apart from mushrooms and bacon, so I took a shitload (both metric and standard) of mushrooms. Sliced them up (crimini and white), chopped some bacon, a little onion, a little garlic (it was pepper bacon), threw them all in a pot and am now reducing them. They turn into a soup first, due to the moisture in the mushrooms, but I see it in my head as more of a mush (mushroom mush), rather than a soup.

Verdict soon.
