New Release – Go With the Flo

Today sees the release of my latest book, Go With the Flo

Nineties girl Florence Spring joined Avon to find her Edward Scissorhands but instead needs to rescue his porno alter ego.

Blurb

When Florence notices her eccentric ex-boyfriend, Eddie, isn’t putting on his usual show in the front window on Friday night she decides to investigate.  She asks her best friend, Nelson Tyler, to help but he seems more interested in seducing Florence than in finding her personal flasher. Florence has no idea when she embarks on the adventure she will accidentally shoot an undercover policeman, or that her actions will lead to Nelson’s kidnapping.  Now with two men missing she has no choice but to continue and thwart the plans of a psychotic soon to be divorcee.  She needs to rescue Nelson because life without him is unbearable, especially since she’s discovered his long sensitive fingers are far more erotic than scissorhands.

Guest Blogger – Rosanna Leo

Today I am interviewing the lovely Rosanna Leo.

If you couldn’t be a writer what would you do to earn a living?

Great question, Lillian!  I do also work part-time in my local public library, and adore being in that setting.  Anything that surrounds me with books is just fine!  I’d probably continue in the library field.  However, I am also a classical singer, and sang for a professional chamber choir for a while.  It was a big part of my life for a long time.

A lot of your books seem to be based around Greek gods. Is this something you have studied? And why Greek gods?

I’ve always been fascinated by the gods, but also by everything else paranormal.  From the time I could read, I was holed up with stories of vampires and ghosts and Narnian creatures.  I just love the escape provided by these stories.  The Greek gods are so intriguing to me because, as a writer, they afford me almost complete freedom.  In my novels, I do try to give my gods some limitations as far as powers, but with a god you can do almost anything!  It allows me to be creative in ways I can’t with other characters.  I didn’t study them at school.  In university, I studied literature and history and singing, but the gods have always been there in the background.  Up in Flames is one of my first non-paranormals, and I found I really loved that too!

When you’re not writing what do you like to do to relax?

My husband and I love hiking.  We live in Ontario, Canada, and there are so many beautiful trails and woodsy parks here.  We spend a lot of weekend time exploring.  We love travelling the world as well, although that’s probably not as much of a weekend activity!

If you could have written any book in the world which one would it have been and why?

Absolutely, hands down, the Narnia Chronicles by C.S. Lewis!  Those books changed my life as a youngster.  I used to dream of somehow insinuating myself into the world of Narnia.  Never did get there, though.  The fantasy world is so poignant and creative.  The characters speak to everyone.  And it is so satisfying when the villains are vanquished.  No sex, but that’s okay!

What life experiences you’ve had do you think have added to your ability to write?

I believe many writers write from a place of solitude, and I felt a bit of that growing up.  I grew up in a single family in the 70’s.  I was probably the only kid I knew who had separated parents.  It wasn’t so common then.  As a child, I also developed epilepsy, which made me feel so different from other kids.  I know those experiences shaped me, and made me understand what it’s like to be the underdog.  I try to make all my heroines underdogs in some way.  I like to appeal to that sentiment in all of us.  Even though those experiences may not have directly influenced HOW I write, they definitely influenced WHAT I write.

Have you always written or was this a latent talent only recently brought to life?

In a way, I’ve always written, although I didn’t always believe that I could be published one day.  As a child, I used to do really well on written exams, and won a few award-winning papers in school.  While in university, my singing took over my life for a while, and I concentrated on that.  It was only after my kids were born that I felt the great need to write again.  I had all these stories and characters in my head!  They needed out!  I’m so glad I let them out. J

Why sex? Why erotic romance? Is it just about the loving?

LOL!  Lillian, I think the question we should ask, is why NOT sex?

Interestingly enough, I never saw myself writing erotic romance.  I always knew romance in general would be a big part of what I wrote.  Then one day, I sat down and wrote my first sex scene.  After I got over my initial squeamishness, I realized something…I really enjoyed writing love scenes!  Pardon the pun, but they really do have a rhythm of their own!  I love shaping them and showing the thought process in my characters’ heads as they become vulnerable to one another.  It’s a beautiful process.  Besides, I really believe reading erotic romance is good for you.  We all need that little bit of inspiration to get us going.  To know I can provide that for someone is very stimulating!

What is your favourite movie of all time and why?

Hmm…well, if we’re voting based on artistry, it would be Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” movies.  However, if we’re choosing based on sheer joy, it would be “This is Spinal Tap!”  Those guys kill me every single time!

Now some questions for fun

Sex or chocolate.

Well, I won’t lie.  There was probably a time during my life when I would have voted for chocolate (specifically when my kids were little and I had no energy).  But since turning 40, and feeling a change in my hormonal makeup, it would be SEX!!  Sex in the 40’s is awesome!  I highly recommend that everyone turn 40 if they get a chance!

Snow or sun?

I live in Canada and really should say snow (groan).  But no, sun, it is!  Specifically, a sunny Mexican beach with a lime daiquiri in my hand and a buffet in stumbling distance!  Bliss.

Briefs or boxers?

Boxer briefs!  They’re tighter than the traditional boxers!

Hot tub or four poster bed?

Four poster bed, baby!  That’s pure romance right there.  Specifically, one of those beds with the draped linens on the posts…oh yeah.

Writing or reading?

WRITING!! Although reading will never go away.

Thank you Rosanna.

Rosanna’s new book, Up In Flames has just been released.

And can be purchased at Liquid Silver Books,  Amazon and All Romance EBooks

Male Review gets 4 Stars at Manic Readers

Manic Readers has reviewed Male Review and given it 4 stars.

I was reminded of Stephanie Plum’s gramma as I read this book. There was also a bit of Sophia from the Golden Girls TV show in Maud’s character. Since these two women are a couple of my all time favorites, I have to say Maud was by far, my favorite character in the book

There is lots of hot sex, or at least interrupted sex, throughout Male Review, and a smattering of bondage and spanking, but it’s a lovely read for beach or fireside.

You can read the whole review here, Manic Readers
