Hop Against Homophobia
Today starts the Hop Against Homophobia, a blog hop with over 250 participating bloggers. While I missed out on the initial information about this wonderful event – I had my nose buried in edits with quick deadlines — I was thrilled to learn I only needed to post my blog link to participate. So here we go, dear Readers, spread the word, win a prize, and most importantly, raise awareness of homophobia.
~*~*~
Just this week I read an article about a politician who said it should be legal to fire someone because of their sexuality. It’s a choice, he said, to behave this way. Well, we all know that we don’t choose who we’re attracted to – bi, straight, or gay – so I won’t beat that dead horse today. Instead, take a moment to think about all the energy homophobia wastes…
Have you every been angry? Have you ever felt betrayed? Wanted revenge? How did it feel? Did it make you happy? Did you feel energized in your negative feelings? Hatred is exhausting. It’s stressful. It brings you down. When your mind is filled with resent, pain, disgust, and hate, you yourself will be unhappy, and often unhealthy. Is it worth increasing your blood pressure to hate something that doesn’t affect you?
Two men loving each other does not directly affect anyone but them– it doesn’t mean you’re not going to get a promotion, fall in love, live a longer life — but hating them for it, and with the vehemence we often seen in the news, social networks, and protests, will negatively affect you. Hate hurts, and not just the person you hate. The hater takes time away from their own loved ones to seethe and fume. Is it worth it? I, for one, certainly don’t think so.
In a small way, I feel sorry for the homophobes. They’re killing themselves with their hatred. And, you know what, for all the hate, there are millions more that are accepting, encouraging, and supporting the gay people in their lives. We are gaining ground, and the haters are sliding further down into the depths of their own dark world. Soon they’ll be trapped within themselves, and we will be free. As every fairytale and romance gets its Happily Ever After, so will Love. Love is Louder. Love will win.

Thank you for reading and supporting the Hop Against Homophobia. Please click HERE to see the full list of participating blogs, and visit as many as you can. If you leave a comment on this post, I’ll draw one random winner to receive a copy of Hounded By Love. (Click HERE for blurb and excerpt, or to buy your own copy).
Please check back next week to see if you won, because I’m not very good at chasing people down. You will need to email me and claim your prize if you win. Entries will remain open until I draw a winner sometime next week.
Ciao,
Pia Veleno

New Release: Hounded By Love
Huzzah! It’s here! (Well, technically tomorrow, but that’s only a couple of hours away really.)
Sebastian gets what he wants. Music, lovers, fun. Now, he wants Reed. Reed likes his quiet, secluded life. He’s not looking for love, just peace.
Do opposites truly attract, or will their differences hound them into an unpleasant end?
Hounded By Love, my second Loose Id release is ready for you to enjoy. Click HERE to visit Loose Id’s site to read an excerpt and download your own copy.
Bas Korbas has more friends than he can count. The lead singer of Hecate’s Hounds has a voice that melts men and women alike. He never goes home alone, and rarely has a moment to himself when away from his bed. Despite all of the attention and the success of his band, Bas feels alone, stuck on the outside, looking in, waiting for someone to come and make him whole.
Reed Parker likes his quiet, secluded life in his mountain home tucked away on the outskirts of town. He’s not looking for love, just peace. When Bas “The Hound” Korbas storms into his life, and ignores the brush offs and explosions that have, without fail, driven other men away, Reed must decide if he should build his walls higher, or let Bas pull them down.

New Release: Make You Sweat

Ready for change, Tyler Pierce has the whole summer ahead of him when he flies to Sand Piper Beach to turn over a new leaf. Sun, swimming, exercise, he'll return home a new man, sexy and buff. Best of all, several states away from home and college, no one but his dad knows him, so he can muddle through the challenges of getting fit without friends laughing at him.
During his first visit to the fitness center, Tyler meets the sculpted and toned Cody Dawson, fitness instructor and sexy gay man. Not only does Cody help Tyler learn how to use the strength training equipment, but he crashes through Tyler's fantasies and lures him into bed.
Just a passing fling, Tyler decides. Cody, after all, could get any number of better looking men without even trying. Besides, the summer doesn't last forever and, too soon, Tyler will return to campus leaving Cody to the ex who wants him back. A summer fling can grow into something more, but it's up to Tyler to recognize if it's true love or just heated summer lust.
Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: male/male sexual practices.
