NEW VIDEO FOR TERMS OF TEMPTATION; TERMS OF SURRENDER FEATURED IN JUNE MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW

News of the Western romance trilogy of TERMS OF SURRENDER, TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT, and TERMS OF TEMPTATION, all of which have been awarded READERS' FAVORITE 5 STARS:

TERMS OF TEMPTATION has a new video trailer, designed and produced by Wally Farrelly. See it on this page, or at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEQ1M.... The book is also featured this month at CHOOSY BOOKWORM: http://choosybookworm.com.

TERMS OF SURRENDER is featured in the June issue of MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW, reviewed by senior reviewer Diane Donovan:

http://www.amazon.com/Terms-Surrender...
"TERMS OF SURRENDER is set in the era of the War Between the States and tells of a young former Confederate Cavalry officer who is left without hope after the war when he stumbles upon one Annie Devlin's war on the frontier - and saves her life while threatening his own.

Now it's up to Annie to heal her hero - and to help him fill gaps in his life and hers.

Now, TERMS OF SURRENDER could be categorized as a Western romance: certainly this audience would be the likely readers of a story centered upon the blossoming relationship between two individuals who have faced struggle and adversity in their lives.
But the added bonus of a plot that revolves just as strongly around hardship and strife and the bonding of two very different protagonists who have faced change and danger with courage makes for a wider-ranging story, with the Wyoming setting (after the Civil War) just adding more spice to the mixture with its added focus on the aftermath of war and its lingering impact on all involved.

Drama and threats to humor and emotion: all spring to life in chapters that add action to romance, rounding out protagonists and settings.

TERMS OF SURRENDER is about surrender on many levels, from military to surrendering one's heart and preset notions. It's about sheer determination against all odds, summoning up personal strength to tackle adversity, and the influences that cause people to come together and families to be formed from fragments of past experience: "He had no use for those feelings and he desperately did not want them. And yet, as though his traitorous emotions and the raw craving he felt for Annie weren't enough to torment him to madness, there was the additional vexation of his dawning, grudging fondness for the boy, a cruel and haunting reminder of the feelings he'd once had for his own little brother."

Descriptions are evocative and compelling throughout: "Annie's pale hair cascaded over her shoulders, for all the world as though moonbeams had drifted down around her to settle in a soft, gleaming cloud."

Part of this multifaceted read, however, lies in elements that broaden its romantic overtones: thus readers can expect to find humor, violence, gritty action and exquisitely-wrought tension throughout a creation recommended not for those seeking light leisure reading, but for readers who seek more depth and layers in their stories.

The result feels like a Western romance read but embraces so much more: hope, desperation, and, ultimately, love. As such it's a recommendation for those who like their romances tinged with historical settings and more than a healthy dose of emotional zest."

THE GUARDIAN'S ANGEL IS AWARDED READERS' FAVORITE 5 STARS AND IS PRAISED IN THE MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW

Paranormal romantic suspense thriller THE GUARDIAN'S ANGEL has been awarded 5 STARS by READERS' FAVORITE and has been praised by THE MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW.

Diane Donovan, reviewing for THE MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW's May 2014 issue, writes:

"Libby's forte is helping troubled children; not solving crimes: she leaves that up to different professionals. So when she's called upon to do both by Seattle Police Detective J.D. McCammon, who believes an autistic little boy has witnessed (and repressed) the murder of his parents, it's with extreme reluctance that she becomes involved in a journey that will ultimately change her own life.

You can't say you haven't been forewarned that this is more than your usual crime story: The Guardian's Angel holds that promise in its very title, reinforces it in its opening chapter, and keeps its promise through a series of vivid encounters that keep readers involved on an emotional level.

One would expect from all this that Libby was herself a strong woman (a social worker, perhaps), but in fact she's a broken woman who three years earlier survived a brutal attack, identified her attacker, and found her calling in helping others survive: 'He struck fast, kept to the darkness, gave his victims no chance to escape. Elizabeth Driscoll was his third victim, but unlike the first two, assaulted after dark near the south end of the park, she’d been attacked in early morning drizzle while jogging along the deserted Arboretum road.'

As a former victim discovers a newfound position of strength that can change other lives, so she becomes immersed in a world that also holds danger and threats to mind and body. This time she's working with small children and finds her own trauma and recovery lends a special, successful touch in handling their emotional turmoil: 'Libby never lost her awe at these children’s courage and resiliency. She understood the battles they fought simply to get through each day, and how such endless struggles could wear down even the strongest of adults, much less a vulnerable child. And though she’d never had to endure a physical disability, she certainly knew how badly the heart and spirit could be wounded.'

But Libby is about to be challenged on a very different level when she becomes involved with young Tommy and a policeman determined to keep him safe. This quest for safety eventually leads J.D. and Libby on a dangerous flight to safety, and as time runs out for Tommy, they face impossible scenarios together that will lead them to new connections … if they can all survive.

Brand this a romance thriller and add in a dose of intrigue and cat-and-mouse action and you have an unpredictable novel that's not easily categorized. Lorrie Farrelly's ability to capture the nuances of autism is realistic and involving, as is her ability to realistically represent the emotions and motivations of two very different protagonists watching over him. The autism angle is perhaps the single strongest device in The Guardian's Angel, setting it apart from other crime or thriller writings and elevating the plot to a whole new level.

Libby and J.D.'s romance is well-developed and builds up slowly, also contributing a realistic feel to the story. While this part is predictable, it's also a satisfying adjunct to the overlaying tension in the thriller.

The result is a story that will appeal to readers of crime stories, thrillers, and romance alike. Those who appreciate realistic psychological depth, especially, will find the character of little Tommy spot on in its representation."

Faridah Nassozi, reviewing for READERS' FAVORITE, writes:

"In The Guardian's Angel by Lorrie Farrelly, Dr. Elizabeth Driscoll's life was shattered when she was attacked by the University Park Stalker, who almost ended her life. While at the police station three years ago, to help identify the stalker, she had made a startling connection with a stranger, J.D McCammon. Piecing her life back together was not easy but she had done the best she could, even though she still lived with the nightmares, day and night. Imagine her surprise when she comes back one day to find McCammon in her driveway. McCammon needed her help desperately and before she even knew what she was doing she was in a mobile home with him, driving 300 miles out of town in an attempt to protect an innocent little boy and help him overcome his severe mental disabilities. The journey, however, takes much longer than they expected as they face several challenges, including near-death encounters and intense mutual attraction.

The Guardian's Angel by Lorrie Farrelly is a fast paced thriller that takes you from one moment to the next in a blink of an eye. It is simply amazing to see how the two main characters form such an awesome team in such a short time. Their need to protect the little boy is so fierce you can feel it as you read and their intense mutual attraction happens so fast and yet it feels so genuine, testament to Lorrie Farrelly's incredible writing skills. The easy to relate to writing style enabled me to make real connections with the characters throughout the story. The Guardian's Angel is another page-turner from Lorrie Farrelly and I enjoyed every single adrenaline-pumping page from beginning to the end."

TIMELAPSE AND DANGEROUS AWARDED READERS' FAVORITE 5 STARS

TIMELAPSE, a time-travel/sci fi romantic adventure, and DANGEROUS, contemporary romantic suspense with a touch of the paranormal, have both been awarded READERS' FAVORITE 5 STARS.

RF Reviewer Faridah Nassozi writes, "DANGEROUS by Lorrie Farrelly is a masterfully well-written love story. It is a beautiful story about a man and woman whose unexpected meeting would go on to change their lives forever and also the lives of all around them. The excellent blend of intriguing and easy-to-relate-to characters and their different personalities, coupled with an outstanding plot, takes you from this world into the fascinating scenery of the city of Chima Valley, giving you a very vivid image and a thrilling reading experience. It is an amazing love story with a fairy tale kind of feeling that evokes real emotions and a beautiful connection with the characters."

And RF Reviewer Michael McManus writes, "Lorrie Farrelly, the author of TIMELAPSE, has done a marvelous job of describing a world gone crazy, where public displays of affection could get two lovers arrested; where a simple curse word uttered in public is a violation of the law, but where rape and brutality at the hands of the law enforcers are commonplace. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast-paced story that keeps the pages turning until the very end. This is one of my favorite books of the year."

In addition, intriguing VIDEO TRAILERS of TIMELAPSE and Western historical romance TERMS OF SURRENDER are posted at http://www.amazon.com/Lorrie-Farrelly..., where all Lorrie's novels can also be seen.

TERMS OF TEMPTATION JOINS TERMS OF SURRENDER AND TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT IN READERS' FAVORITE 5-STARS

TERMS OF TEMPTATION is the third book in the "Terms" series to win READERS' FAVORITE 5 STARS!

Reviewer Bil Howard writes:
"Birds of a feather… or perhaps cougars of a feather come together in TERMS OF TEMPTATION, a continuation of the lives of the Cantrell family by Lorrie Farrelly. Kinley Cantrell has a heart for taking on wild animals which are injured or sick, but she also has a quick and fiery temper when it comes to people who abuse any animals. It was the sight of her giving an old drunk a strong going over concerning the condition of his malnourished horse that first caught Deputy Game Warden Bram Killoran’s attention. Though they frustrate the living hell out of each other, the two end up going in search of a cougar alleged to be killing Old Man Hackett’s sheep. The adventure brings a whole new set of annoyances to the two as they realize that there is a burning passion between them. Bram can hardly keep his hands off of her while he fights back the idea that he is good enough to marry her and settle down. As the two struggle within, there is plenty of intense action taking place on the outside as well.

Lorrie Farrelly has captured the struggles of love and romance in a fantastic way in TERMS OF TEMPTATION. She has not only penetrated the hearts and emotions of the two lead characters, but she has done it in a setting and under circumstances that add to the romance. Horses, strong men, conflicts, and adventures, which were a daily part of western life at the turn of the century, have a visceral cloud around them that makes the reader long for that simpler time; a cloud which surrounds Lorrie’s novel. Passionate, emotional and adventurous, TERMS OF TEMPTATION is an adventure in romance that will hold the reader spellbound, like the scream of a cougar in the night."

"THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS OF THE YEAR"

http://readersfavorite.com/book-revie...

Many, many thanks to READERS' FAVORITE reviewers Michael McManus and Amber Ryan for their 5-Star reviews of my time-travel, romantic adventure TIMELAPSE. Michael wrote:

"Lorrie Farrelly, the author of TIMELAPSE, has done a marvelous job of describing a world gone crazy, where public displays of affection could get two lovers arrested; where a simple curse word uttered in public is a violation of the law, but where rape and brutality at the hands of the law enforcers are commonplace. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast-paced story that keeps the pages turning until the very end. This is one of my favorite books of the year."

And from Amber:

"Lorrie Farrelly is an incredible writer. TIMELAPSE literally kept me on my toes. This is such a remarkable novel. I started reading it and could not put it down until I finished. I felt as if I were actually in the story, experiencing the emotion and pain that Alex felt after his wife died; the fear of not knowing where in time he would end up next, and the riptide that coursed through his body as he contemplated whether he would ever be reunited with his son. This novel greatly moved me. It made me reflect on the rights and freedoms that I, as well as many others, take for granted. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to be emotionally awakened."

NEW 5-STAR REVIEW FOR DANGEROUS!

Many thanks to Clara Styles for this wonderful review!

"5.0 out of 5 stars
A Brilliant Romantic Thriller 4 Sep 2013
By Clara Styles
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase

I was lucky enough to see this book advertised in a Face Book book event. (The Virtual Ebook Fair) There were excellent samples of new books and this one really stood out to me. The links bought me straight through to amazon so I could buy the book immediately. It is a brilliant way to shop.

I was completely bowled over by the descriptions in this book. I could actually feel our hero Cam's pain as he tried to save the life of a 'drive by' shoot out victim. His despair, rage and sheer desperation were so well described I had a tear in my eye by the end of the second page.

As Cam moves on with his life he thinks that taking a job in a small town will mean he can escape the violence he so hates, but he immediately meets beautiful but withdrawn Merry in another fatal disaster and they feel an instant connection.

The small town Cam has moved to has some very big problems and soon he is involved with a crooked Mayor and his family along with an underground racist movement and a group of foolish arsonists.

All the while Cam is trying to resist meeting Merry again. In one chance meeting she has affected him more than any woman has done for years but his past demons are not easy to escape and he has hardened his heart to everyone who tries to get through the unbreakable wall he has built around himself.

Merry is battling her own deeply hidden insecurities but is the only person who can save Cam from himself and give him one last chance to open up to the world before it drags him down into the depths of despair.

This is a beautiful romance, full of heart wrenching insecurity and doubt, but it is also a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I thoroughly recommend it."

NEW 5-STAR REVIEW FOR TERMS OF TEMPTATION!

Many thanks to LaylaReader for posting this beautifully-written and thoughtful review!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lorrie Farrelly once again delivers the magic June 2, 2013
By LaylaReader
Format:Kindle Edition
Terms of Surrender was the first in this series and I was impressed by the story, quality of writing and depth of characters. The second novel Terms of Engagement focused on Robert Devlin and was also good, but not quite up there with the first. In this third novel Terms of Temptation I feel that Lorrie Farrelly once again delivers the magic.

Bram Killoran is a man of integrity who feels that he is best alone, believing himself incapable of love and staying in any one place. His childhood left him with the conviction that nothing good can last.

Kinley Cantrell cares deeply for all of the wounded animals she takes in, a habit that started at a very early age and is now the centre of her life. She is drawn to wildlife warden Bram, but regards him only as a good friend until circumstances throw them together and she discovers that she feels and wants more.

The story centres around them and the development of their relationship against a backdrop of poachers and criminals with plenty of action to keep the story moving without losing focus.

The characters from the last books also appear, especially the wonderful Michael Cantrell and Annie, in some ways so very similar to the younger Bram and Kinley.

I hope you enjoy this excerpt:

“I wanted you...to live.” Michael’s voice broke.
“Aw, now, I know that,” Gavin smiled sadly. “I ’spect I wanted it, too. It’s all right, though, Mike. Leastways one of us made it. Now you got to live for me as well, you hear me, brother?”
“My fault,” Michael whispered. “All my fault. Ah, God, I never should’ve...”
The youth stood up abruptly, stepping back from the cot. Michael’s strong left hand shot out and he grasped his brother’s arm, fingers wrapping tightly, knuckles whitening. This time, he felt the contact and gripped with all his strength, ignoring the pain searing through his chest and entire right side.
“No!” he croaked. “Gavin, don’t go!”
“Annie!” Robbie yelped, hopping backward. The stranger’s hand clamped ferociously onto his arm and suddenly, horrifyingly, the man sat bolt upright, eyes wild and staring.
“Stay here!” he commanded in a rasping whisper. “Don’t you leave me!”
As though he’d seen a haunt rise from the dead in the darkened room, Robbie panicked, completely losing his nerve. He struggled wildly and pried with scrabbling fingers at Michael’s steel grip.
“Lemme go!” he shrieked. “Annie, help me! Get ’im off! Get ’im off!”
A door banged open and Annie rushed barefoot into the room, clutching her wrapper over her long flannel nightgown, pale hair tumbling wildly into her face. She gripped a candle holder, and the flickering light of the small flame illuminated a nightmarish scene, freezing her blood.
The stranger sat rigidly upright, eyes wild, gory bandages livid. He hauled Robbie against his chest in a crushing embrace, the fingers of one hand clenched around the boy’s arm, the other arm wrapped around his small back. Robbie screamed and flailed at the man’s chest and face with one free, knotted fist. His legs, dragged off the floor, kicked frantically. The man mumbled a low, pleading litany of words at the child, his voice hoarse and gravelly. Other than gasping breaks in his speech, he reacted to the boy’s pounding blows not at all.
“Please...Gavin...stay...I won’t...let you...go...oh God, Gavin...don’t...don’t...I got you...”
After that first moment of frozen shock, Annie burst into action. Dropping the candleholder on the table, rushing to the cot, she grasped the man’s large hands, desperately trying to free Robbie. When she could not loosen the stranger’s grip, she scrambled over him onto the cot. Half-kneeling, nightgown and wrapper tangled in her legs, she wedged her body between the stranger and the hysterical, struggling boy.
“Captain Cantrell!” she shouted. “Stop it! Let him go!”
The wounded man’s grip was like iron. Annie couldn’t imagine where his strength was coming from. She could feel his whole body trembling against her, and the bandages wrapped around his shoulder and chest were soaked with sweat and fresh blood.
“No!” he cried, glaring at her with wide, wild eyes, feral and ferocious in the candlelight. “You can’t...have him! I...let him...before...No, dammit! Gavin!”
“Captain Cantrell! Michael!” Unable to wrench his hands and arms from Robbie, Annie shifted and took Michael’s face in her hands, her fingers spread along both sides of his hard, sweat-slick jaw. Turning his head, she forced him to look into her eyes.
“Michael!” she commanded. “Listen! You must let go! He’s not Gavin!”
Through glazed, frantic eyes he stared at her a long moment more. She could feel the heat of fever pouring through his skin into the palms of her hands. Sensing his chance, sobbing wordlessly, Robbie tried suddenly to pull away. Michael convulsively tightened his grip.
“No, Michael!” Annie protested quickly, and then, gentling her hands, she began soothingly to stroke his cheek. “Listen, now, listen to me. This isn’t Gavin. Look at him. Look at him, won’t you?”
A flicker of confused uncertainty came into the man’s eyes, and the huge, black, dilated pupils seemed to constrict slightly, giving Annie a glimpse of the deep blue irises.
“Yes, that’s right, Michael, that’s right. Good. Now listen to me, listen to me.” Her words, and the gentle stroking of her fingers, became fluid, hypnotic.
Michael listened. Annie felt the coiled, rigid tension slowly seep from his body.
“Look at the boy, Michael. Can’t you see he isn’t Gavin? Let him go now. You don’t want to hurt him. Please, let him go. That’s it.”
Michael blinked. He stared again feverishly at Annie, and this time she saw the glazed sheen disappear from his eyes, to be replaced by an anguished look so raw and exposed that she felt tears spring to her own eyes in response.
“Look at him,” she whispered.
Swallowing hard, Michael dragged his eyes from Annie and turned his gaze to the boy grasped against his chest. He stared at him in astonishment and confusion. Thick, straight, coppery hair spilled onto the child’s face above frightened, reddened eyes and a sunburnt, freckled runny nose.
What the hell? Where was Gavin? Who was he supposed to be looking for? The boy in his grip shuddered in a silent, exhausted plea, and Michael was stunned to see the child’s face streaked with tears. Who was this? What in God’s name had happened? And where the hell was he?
Shaking, Michael instantly released the boy, who half-fell, half-scrabbled away from him, tumbling onto the floor. Incredibly, the woman still kneeled over him, practically in his lap, her hands still touching his face. He could feel his own fingers cramped and aching from the strength of the grip he’d had on the child. Sweet Jesus, what had he done?
“Are you all right, Robbie?” Annie asked quietly.
“Annie!” he gasped. “He grabbed me! He just up an’ grabbed me! I didn’t do nothing! Honest! I was just coming back from the privy. He was moving around and calling out, and I thought...”
“Never you mind, now, Robbie. Captain Cantrell didn’t mean to scare you. He was clean out of his head.” Annie laid a cool palm on Michael’s forehead. “He’s fairly burning up. Go fetch me some cool water from the pump. Hurry, now.”
As Robbie scrambled away, Annie turned her attention back to the wounded man. She still knelt beside him, half-straddling his lap. He stared after Robbie, his expression stunned and appalled. Annie thought he looked terribly lost and terribly young, and she spoke to him as she had to Robbie on so many nights after Ned died, when the boy had awakened with night terrors.
“Thank you, Captain,” she soothed, “for listening to me. Now look at me, look at me. Do you remember what happened? Do you remember where you are?” Her fingers gently caressed the chiseled angle of Michael’s jaw as she turned his face back toward her. Her gray eyes were wide and lustrous, her mouth open slightly. He could feel the warmth of her breath on his cheek. He met her worried gaze, and for a single, brief moment all pain disappeared, replaced abruptly by a great hitch in his chest. Michael was dead certain his heart had stopped.
“Are you an angel?” he whispered.
