They eyed each other silently, neither one offering up a word to start the conversation. In the quiet between them, Giselle studied the scent. Definitely a perfume: natural oils of patchouli had been mixed with clary sage and just a hint of citronella. It worked well to mask the other synthetic smells of deodorant and floral soap that still clung to her body, but not well enough to trick Giselle’s nose. This woman was no wolf. She was definitely a witch, though. The pendant she wore was enough to give that away, and the Bohemian style clothing with flowing skirts and odd colorful patterns screamed “earth mother.”The woman closed the distance between them after the silence had long since gone stale. “You do recognize me, don’t you?” There was an oddly hopeful edge in the woman’s voice that caught Giselle off guard. Should she recognize her? Sure, they both were redheads. But how many other ginger women in the world were there? That meant nothing. And if she was being truly honest with herself, all the faces of all the foster families that had taken her in and subsequently sent her back into the system had long since blurred together into one wretched image in her mind. If this woman had been a part of the foster system, she was barking up the wrong tree if she thought Giselle would welcome her back into her life with open arms.“Sorry. No.” Giselle crossed her arms in front of her and stood firmly in place.“Oh, but how could you?” A tear trickled from the corner of the woman’s eye. “I just thought… You were such a tiny thing the last time I held you in my arms.”Giselle scoffed silently, remembering all the broken promises and false hope that came with each new family that took her in. “Lots of people held me in their arms… and dropped me just as quickly.”Her words seemed to cut straight to the woman’s heart. It all started with death. Emily Macque's Uncle John died and
she was sent by her father's law firm to handle his probate, personal affairs, and summer estate. She was also sent there to rest as she was recently diagnosed with a heart condition. Such is the beginning of Muffy Wilson's The Para-Portage of Emily. Emily's stay was supposed to be uneventful. However, as she dug deeper, she uncovered more than what was normal. Muffy Wilson wrote about a love which transcends time. In the Para-Portage of Emily, this love was put under scrutiny and was explained thoroughly.The novel was exquisitely done. It was written with such grace that even when it took time to uncover all the mysteries, it was worth it in the end. The dialogues were cleanly written, too. This was a book I had the pleasure of savoring. How Muffy Wilson wrote it will give readers the right feel. The sensitive details were written with such grace that it didn't sound too much. In terms of the characters, they were like real life people. They were suitable for the story and not out of place. As far as I'm concerned, I'm in love with Emily. In addition to that, I was torn between Colin and Cooper. Overall, I think The Para-Portage of Emily is a wonderful, seductive read. It's definitely a page-turner. If you are a fan of romance, this book is an indulgence. It was mine.

This book is just brilliant and so damn good. I was hooked in the story within a few pages and I just couldn't stop reading the book. It was impossible to put it down once I had started. The story is very well written and unfolds very nicely for the reader. It drags you in and keeps you spellbound.
Their is a nice mix between paranormal, romance and mystery in the book and you can see that Muffy Wilson combines them very well in this book. I must say that just the way of combining things into one book is what makes this book so good. It is not just pure anything, but more than pure awesome.
I like how the story is told and how the book is written. The style and tone is very well done and the tone of the language and how the language is used to drag the reader in, is what makes the book so good. Emily is also a very entertaining character that I like a lot and at first I was unsure about her but the more I got to know her the better I liked her. The character development and how they grow and change in the book is also very nice and very well done. You can see the character changing and growing in the story and how they react to things in the story to a good way.
This is a must to read book because it is very well written with a very good storyline that is easy to follow, but still gives you surprises. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!

The red-hued ringlets of silken curls fell around her shoulders to her back and breasts. The soft wisps of curls framed the beauty that was her face and her eyes softened with love and desire.

Patty shuddered and started sobbing again.
“I’ll take her up,” Leo told Carol. The servile woman began moving through the dungeon, collecting dirty toys, empty bottles and wrappers, straightening things as she went.

“When?” she wondered aloud. “When did I become a lost cause?”

How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
I’ve been writing for 6 years. Fanfiction brought me back to an old passion that had lain fallow for almost a decade. My first title was published in 2013 and although my releases aren’t steady, I have had a couple every year since then.
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?
I love meeting new characters. It’s fantastic when they jump onto the page, fully formed, just waiting for me to discover them. Plotting and complexity are more difficult for me. As a result, I tend to write shorter works (<30 000 words).
What inspires you to write?
One vibrant, concrete image. It’s usually a scene or a conversation, but it’s something I can see from every angle. These are very easy to write and the slightly more difficult task is writing the story that connects these images.
What is the title of your story included in Alpha Fever? How did you come up with this story?
I’ve written Switching Up for Alpha Fever. I used Riz Kay, the BDSM dungeon, in another story and wanted to write another and explore it more. I’ve met a couple of Brats and thought one would make a fun story.
How did you conduct your research for Switching Up?
I have attended a number of public panels hosted by my local BDSM community. Most of my research is conducted with them, either in person or online.
What are 3 of your favorite lines/quotes from Switching Up?
1.) What the fuck? She was a brat and liked to push her playmates, but that didn’t mean she wanted them to walk away. She was playing hard-to-get, but expected something good when she finally was caught.
2.) A look passed between Leo and Carol, one she’d seen in other couples, one she’d never given or received. It was love in knowledge. They knew each other so well and rather than making loving one another difficult, it made it better.
Reading affirmation in their gaze, she knew what Carol was about to say. She wouldn’t be their third wheel, though, getting in the middle of this committed pair.
3.) Once his partner was in the bathroom, Leo leaned forward and put his face only inches from Patty’s. “I don’t want to hear you are taking needless risks.”
“I—”
“I understand that fall was calculated and not really dangerous, but I will be damned before I let you hurt yourself to get a high. If you need to lose control, you can give it to me.”
“I’m not your sub,” Patty reminded him. “You have one, a permanent one. I’m not trying to get in the middle of that.”
Leo’s dark eyes were still fierce. “You are in the middle of it. Do you think Carol took coffee here before? Have you considered that I wanted to know you were okay? We talk about you more often than you would guess, as a friend and a switch. You fit well between us Patty, and we worry about you.”
What would your friends say is your best quality?
My willingness to help out. I try to give my friends a boost whenever they need it, which is good, because I often need them to do the same for me.
Are reader reviews important to you?
Somewhat. I don’t stalk my reviews and track every single one that comes in. Bad reviews really shake me up. That said, when I’m buying a book, I don’t usually do so based on reviews, so I try to remember there are readers like me out there too.

What do you do when you don’t write?
I’m an environmental consultant, wife and mother. In my day job, I am also writing, but they are technical and scientific papers instead of fiction.
Tell us about your other books?
My primary titles are the many volumes in the Blue Moon House series. It follows a family of vampires that follow and shape the BDSM community. As I go back in time, seeing the introduction of each vampire, the group is really kicking off BDSM in a lot of ways, while in the more recent time periods, they are instead the epitome of it. I also have Not Your Bitch and Woman’s Best Friend, shifter stories with a werewolf and BBW with low self-esteem (former) or a dog in a BDSM relationship (latter).
If you could share one thing about yourself that you would like readers to know what would it be?
I am not as experienced as my characters. I’m flexible and have tried a lot of things, but most of my scenes are purely imagination.Thank you so much for stopping by! It has been a pleasure to share with you.

How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
I’ve been writing for 6 years. Fanfiction brought me back to an old passion that had lain fallow for almost a decade. My first title was published in 2013 and although my releases aren’t steady, I have had a couple every year since then.

Tamara jumped slightly, her body breaking out in goosebumps.

I knew I wanted to do a shifter type of story and I also knew that I wanted it to be an animal that has never been used before. Or that I had never read of before. I used Google and Wikipedia mostly for my research on the type of animal I chose to write about.

My contribution in the Between the Snowflakes antho is titled “Frolicking in the Snow” and it is about reindeer shifters ;-) I’m in the process of revising my novella Love Story of a Reaper, which is about a young woman who finds out that she is a Grim Reaper who had been raised by humans. Her adventures are so much fun to write about! I’m hoping to have that out within the next 3-6 months :-D

Hello, thank you for inviting me for this interview. I’m Crystal Dawn and I write Paranormal and science fiction romance.
How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing? I’ve been writing in some capacity since I was a child. As far as books go, I published my first book in 2013. I had the second already written but it had to go through the publishing process.
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?Being able to express yourself and let the characters in your imagination out is very liberating. The sense of accomplishment when the story is complete is incredible. Getting emails from readers that tell you the story you wrote made their lives a little brighter, that’s amazing. The worst aspects can be the promoting, which sometimes causes you to have to step away from a book at a crucial point. The story flow doesn’t always come back on demand so that can be frustrating. It’s also tough sometimes balancing the needs of an author with the rest of your life.
What inspires you to write? I’ve always had an overactive imagination. The story and the characters conspire to make me set it down in a book. They simply won’t leave me be. It’s a wonderful feeling to know you can brighten someone’s day with the words you put together into a story.
What is the title of your story included in Alpha Fever? How did you come up with this story?Hidden Desire and the series it’s in is a spinoff of my Legends of the White Werewolf series. The series is about six ladies that are part of the white werewolf bloodline but human. They fall for six werewolves but they reject their fated mates because they cling to their humanity.
How did you conduct your research for –Hidden Desire?There wasn’t a need for research so much as digging deep into some of my past experiences. People are interesting to watch and some share their personal lives freely which helps build the personalities and lives of various characters.
What are 3 of your favorite lines/quotes from –Hidden Desire?“Let’s get things straight before we get started. I like to take charge.”--Ven

What do you do when you don’t write?This is a great time for that question. We just returned from a vacation to Orlando Florida where we caught the race at Daytona, went deep sea fishing, and spent two days at Kennedy Space Center. I love Nascar and since Jeff Gordon has retired I need to pick a new driver to cheer for. I went fishing a lot when I was younger but never deep sea fishing. It was great and I won the ship pool by catching the largest fish by weight. It was a yellow snapper. Kennedy space Center was amazing and I am deeply interested in everything about the space program. We wanted to see a rocket launch but we tried two days, each time it got scrubbed. The last time was one minute from launch. The disappointment was unbelievable. In a nutshell I have a lot of interests and I indulge them when I can.
Tell us about your other books?One of Crystal Dawn’s main series are the different white wolf books which spurred the series that Hidden Desire is part of. White wolves are a powerful werewolf bloodline thought lost but they have just bred with humans until they basically disappeared until a werewolf loses control and mates what he thinks is a full human. When she goes through the change, she turns into a snow white wolf. Now the werewolves, who are dying out and particularly lacking in she wolves, all want a white wolf of their own. Not all white wolf females want to be possessed by the dominating alpha wolves that come after them. Hidden Desire is about one of those females and the rugged alpha that chases her. The Legend of the White werewolf series that begun this is a free series available at most retailers except Amazon.I have a science fiction romance series, Frozen Origin. A company that manipulates DNA finds a burial chamber with a super being in it. Surprisingly he is in pristine condition and perfect to take DNA from. With his DNA they breed a group of beings they call gods. The first book is Zeus. This summer I hope to write an epic novel about the father of this group. It will go back to his time and take us up to now.There is a dragon shifter/alien series, Winged Beasts that I’ve started and it has a prequel and book 1 out so far. Last but not least, I have begun a Witches of Ulyss series which only has one book so far. It was published as a serial and a complete book too.

The start of her stories is the easy part. Finishing them is a little harder when all the stories are in there trying to get out. She loves reading, chocolate, fine sweet wine, and traveling among a large list of pursuits. Her favorite people, after her family and close friends, are her readers who she says are some of the most wonderful people in this galaxy and the next.Hello, thank you for inviting me for this interview. I’m Crystal Dawn and I write Paranormal and science fiction romance.How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing? I’ve been writing in some capacity since I was a child. As far as books go, I published my first book in 2013. I had the second already written but it had to go through the publishing process.
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?Being able to express yourself and let the characters in your imagination out is very liberating. The sense of accomplishment when the story is complete is incredible. Getting emails from readers that tell you the story you wrote made their lives a little brighter, that’s amazing. The worst aspects can be the promoting, which sometimes causes you to have to step away from a book at a crucial point. The story flow doesn’t always come back on demand so that can be frustrating. It’s also tough sometimes balancing the needs of an author with the rest of your life.
What inspires you to write? I’ve always had an overactive imagination. The story and the characters conspire to make me set it down in a book. They simply won’t leave me be. It’s a wonderful feeling to know you can brighten someone’s day with the words you put together into a story.
What is the title of your story included in Alpha Fever? How did you come up with this story?Hidden Desire and the series it’s in is a spinoff of my Legends of the White Werewolf series. The series is about six ladies that are part of the white werewolf bloodline but human. They fall for six werewolves but they reject their fated mates because they cling to their humanity.
How did you conduct your research for –Hidden Desire?There wasn’t a need for research so much as digging deep into some of my past experiences. People are interesting to watch and some share their personal lives freely which helps build the personalities and lives of various characters.
What are 3 of your favorite lines/quotes from –Hidden Desire?“Let’s get things straight before we get started. I like to take charge.”--Ven
“You have a stubborn white wolf, young male. There will be excitement of all kinds in your life once you claim her. Are you prepared for it?”—a witch
He fell back against the bed and groaned, “Female, you are something else.”It made her giggle which was a liberating feeling after feeling so bad for so long. Winking at him, she said, “You have no idea.”
What would your friends say is your best quality?Loyalty and maybe persistence being second. If you want a good friend, you need to be a good friend.
Are reader reviews important to you?
Reader reviews are important to every author. They tell you what you are doing right or wrong. Other readers see the reviews and it peaks their interest. Sometimes it may tell them the book is not for them but sometimes it pulls them in and makes them take a chance on it. Not every book is for every reader. If it’s not their cup of tea, it’s best for them not to read it.

What do you do when you don’t write?This is a great time for that question. We just returned from a vacation to Orlando Florida where we caught the race at Daytona, went deep sea fishing, and spent two days at Kennedy Space Center. I love Nascar and since Jeff Gordon has retired I need to pick a new driver to cheer for. I went fishing a lot when I was younger but never deep sea fishing. It was great and I won the ship pool by catching the largest fish by weight. It was a yellow snapper. Kennedy space Center was amazing and I am deeply interested in everything about the space program. We wanted to see a rocket launch but we tried two days, each time it got scrubbed. The last time was one minute from launch. The disappointment was unbelievable. In a nutshell I have a lot of interests and I indulge them when I can.

It's been a while since I've posted anything here. A little over two years "a while". There hasn't really been much to say, or celebrate in that time. That changes today with the release of Alpha Fever, in which the first novella in my new Club Stratosphere series debuts.

This book will give us another glimpse into the gruesome survival race, the gladiators, and the Hyborean rulers in addition to a new steamy romance.Ooh, I can’t wait to see who the new couple will be, and what adventures you have in store for everyone.
Can you name one thing readers don’t know about you?Before I became a writer, I was a registered dietitian specializing in eating disorders.
Do you have any guilty pleasures?Not really. I tend to like what I like without feeling guilty about it. Whether it’s reading romance, watching Doctor Who, or singing along to Neil Diamond, I don’t worry about what other people think of me.

For readers who are new to you, the Survival Race series is sci-fi romance. Do you write only in this one genre or several different ones? And why?I like to write sci-fi romance and paranormal romance because I enjoy stories where the good guys win and are rewarded with a happily ever after. I also love the adventure and the wonder that a science fiction or paranormal element brings to a story. There are so many “what ifs” to explore. What if humans were the pets of an alien race? What if we were forced to breed and compete for alien entertainment?
To date, which is your favorite story in your Survival Race series?Captive will always have a special place in my heart because it was the first manuscript I finished, the first manuscript I sold, and the first book in the Survival Race series. I absolutely love my tortured hero, Max, and enjoyed bringing him back in book 2.
I’m sure many of your readers love Max, too. Those green eyes… *swoon* Which book did you have the most fun writing?Fearless was really fun to write, though a bit outside my comfort zone, because it was sexier and steamier than Captive. Myia can’t heal Kedric’s spirit unless she touches him. Although Kedric desires her, he refuses her touch, which led to some fun sexual tension!

Welcome back to part deux of Mimi JeanPamfiloff’s release day blitz for ACCIDENTALLY…CIMIL? As promised, here is theshort interview I had with Mimi Jean.
Mimi Jean, can you tell readers where you find the inspiration for yourstories?
Definitely, from everything I love or find funny. I like to believe,sometimes erroneously, that I am like everyone else, and I figure if somethinginspires me to laugh or fall in love, others will like it, too. So, as silly asit sounds, I just write what I love, hoping it will connect with the rest ofthe planet.
Doesn’t sound silly at all. J I think a lot ofauthors feel the exact same. Okay.. tell me, have you found getting publishedto be difficult? How long did it take?
I’ll answer in two parts—one with my business hat and the other with mywriter hat:1. I’ve worked for Fortune 500s for 15 years. I know what it’s like tobe an intricate part of a company’s success. I know the pressures of deliveringa line on the P&L statement. So, when I decided to submit my novels toagents and publishers, I understood the big picture. Profit.Going in, I knew my work (yet another paranormal series) wasn’t at thetop of anyone’s acquisition list; the Paranormal market was already saturatedso why would any company invest in my work? They have numbers to hit. Soself-pubbing was the obvious route.2. 4-5 weeks after self-publishing my first novel, ACCIDENTALLY INLOVE WITH A GOD, I self-published my second. ACCIDENTALLY MARRIED TO A VAMPIREhit the bestsellers lists, and it didn’t take long for offers to come in afterthat. But I had already made a commitment to my readers to deliver a 3rd bookwithin 6 months. Signing up with a publisher would have derailed that. SoI waited until the time was right.As for the other question, “Was it difficult?” I think getting publishedis extremely hard. So many factors play in that have little to do with theactual book (as I pointed out in #1). I can’t say that self-publishing (andbeing successful) is any easier. My advice is to write because you love it. Letthe other chips fall where they may.
Wow. Congrats on your success. Not many who self-pub have that kind of luck.
Your series, Accidentally Yours series falls under the romance category.Is there another genre aside from that one that you would like to write for,and why?
Nope! Just Romance! I love writing about love. Ha!
Fair enough. What has been your biggest influence on becoming a writer?
I’m one of those strange people who woke up one day, 4 or so years ago,with the inexplicable urge to write. I think it was partially due to my love ofreading Paranormal Romance, and partially due to my stressful day job—I neededa creative outlet. It kind of just happened. And I love it!
And we’re glad you do! Sometime it just takes that one little spark tofind that thing we’re in need of to make the EDJ that little bit more tolerable.

Belgian chocolate is #1. I also live very close to Napa, so I love good wine!Generally, anything from the Carneros or Russian River region. Yummm…
