All I really need to say:
In canceling Milo’s book contract, Simon & Schuster made a business decision the same way they made a business decision when they decided to publish that man in the first place. When his comments about pedophilia/pederasty came to light, Simon & Schuster realized it would cost them more money to do business with Milo than he could earn for them. They did not finally “do the right thing” and now we know where their threshold, pun intended, lies. They were fine with his racist and xenophobic and sexist ideologies. They were fine with his transphobia, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. They were fine with how he encourages his followers to harass women and people of color and transgender people online. Let me assure you, as someone who endured a bit of that harassment, it is breathtaking in its scope, intensity, and cruelty but hey, we must protect the freedom of speech. Certainly, Simon & Schuster was not alone in what they were willing to tolerate. A great many people were perfectly comfortable with the targets of Milo’s hateful attention until that attention hit too close to home.Because I’ve been asked, I will not be publishing my book with Simon & Schuster now that they have dropped Milo. After I pulled my book, they changed the release date of Dangerous from March to June 13, the day my next book, Hunger, comes out. I said nothing because I was neither threatened nor concerned but it did reinforce for me that this was not a company I wanted to do business with. My protest stands. Simon & Schuster should have never enabled Milo in the first place. I see what they are willing to tolerate and I stand against all of it. Also, I’ve received far better offers for How to Be Heard from other publishers.
There are some who will spin the cancellation of this book contract as a failure of the freedom of speech but such is not the case. This is yet another example of how we are afforded the freedom of speech but there is no freedom from the consequences of what we say.

@kata-chthonia I think I found a fanfic author that’s plagiarizing your work? Or at least taking the titles/concepts…
She’s clearly borrowing my titles.
But then again I have no copyright claim on them as they were epithets for Hades and Persephone. But the REALLY egregious thing this “author” is doing is that she copy and pasted the ENTIRE PROLOGUE from 100 Days of Night and called it her own then *miraculously* developed writer’s block thereafter.
She follows my blog and has reblogged half my writings, at one point reposting them as her own and was called out by @coloricioso so I know she’s lifting my titles, and she used the plagiarized prologue from 100DoN under my pilfered book title.
I called her out on it and she blocked me and re followed me to erase my comment.
It sucks but there’s nothing I can do since I have no contact for Eme or Blu, the creators of 100DoN.
If anyone does, please let them know.
Turns out she overcame her writer’s block by plagiarizing another work, the very excellently written “Memoirs of Persephone.”

If someone is in contact with klained on AO3 please let them know too.
The reason I can’t issue a DMCA take down for either @emegustart or for klained, the authors being plagiarized, is because I am not an author or representative of their works.
Since she is borrowing one of my titles, I can’t do much but as soon as she decides to publish whatever constitutes her version of “Receiver of Many”, then I can file a DCMA against her account on FF.
Thank you @lizzybennet16, @coloricioso and everyone for helping me protect my work and the hard work of others!

The Glasswinged butterfly is a beautiful brush-footed butterfly. The Glasswinged butterfly gets its name because the tissue between the veins of its wings looks like glass, as it lacks the colored scales found in other butterflies. (Source)

HadesxPersephone inktober day 2 (minoan): Persephone dancing, this is another scene from the book.
Recalling those memories, Persephone started dancing again and graciously, sang one of those songs She closed her eyes, feeling the joy filling her heart as she sang, as if feeling the joy filled her as she sang, as if Gaia blessed her at every step. When she hear a subtle buzz, Persephone opened her eyes and felt her chest full with emotion. Two bees overflow around her, expectantly and curious.

Presents are nice and all, but let’s not forget about the REAL reason for the season: Persephone’s descent into the underworld.
