I spent the entire day going through Greek mythology and other mythology instead of being productive. I can't wait to see how you work your magic with them! I'm so hyped! Thank you so much! Xxxz

Thank you too!! I have a few more myths I’ll be incorporating into The Good Counselor that won’t be in (or even foreshadowed in) the preview.

And I have a feeling I’ll be picking up plenty of additional inspiration from the museum

Speaking of….

The Good CounselorReturns tomorrow at Midnight!

Hey there! As someone interested in Greek Mythology but doesn’t know too much about any of it, would I still be able to read your books or should I brush up on the myths first?

There’s lots of Greek mythology books out there, but the most concise is still Mythology by Edith Hamilton.

My favorite so far, that very much personalizes and humanizes the gods though is Songs on Bronze by Nigel Spivy.

We all knew this was gonna happen but lemme just say that I HATE THIS.

1. This is an insult to Hades

2. I get that this is a good way to get Americans interested in this show rn  especially how its an easy selling point, but this is grossly simplifying the fact that this play is honestly a critique over the whole system of capitalism

3. Can we please stop calling musicals “The Next Hamilton”??? Especially how the original songs of Hadestown were written literally more than a decade ago by a female writer, Anais Mitchell, originally as a critique of America’s political leaders, power, greed, and the economic, political and personal costs of capitalism for a human being itself

Lord of the Souls + Tumblr Text Posts (a.k.a the post that will sent me to Tartarus).

I think I just summed up Aidon’s emotion roller coaster throughout the 86 chapters of Receiver of Many…

I’ve read a sample of Receiver of Many by @therkalexander and my very soul aches to get my hands on a complete copy. Hades and Persephone are my favorite couple (other than my husband and me, because he’s my best friend and lover, and we are marriage goals), and I love any and all stories that portray the beautiful team they make. I’m disappointed that I’ve just now discovered this book. But pleased to know there is a sequel and pending tv series.

The song Because the Night is the ultimate Persephone/Hades song in my opinion. It is tender but sexy. It also talks about feeling safe being able to sleep and feeling untouchable by the rest of the world which are all things I get when reading the scenes

Yeah. Yeah! That’s actually kind of perfect.

I probably listened to that song a thousand times since jr high (the 10,000 Maniacs version instead of the Bruce Springsteen version, because the acoustic version was all over the radio at the time and I am an old).
