listentotheshityousay:

now that ao3 as a whole is a hugo nominee and has reminded us all that it is an incredibly well-designed, excellently maintained project with an archival system that is the envy of many librarians etc, it is a great time to remember that:

ao3 is run entirely by volunteers
there are no ads or monetization at all to bother site usersand also the site works on strict guidelines to prevent us from being sued to bankruptcy etcwe use this amazing site for FREEserver space is EXPENSIVE and ao3 needs A LOT OF ITthe otw (which is the non-profit that runs ao3) spring donation drive is happening right now!donations to the drive go to ao3 AND other projects run by otwso if you use ao3 and appreciate all the hard work being done to keep it running, GO DONATE. SUPPORT OUR HUGO NOMINATED ARCHIVE THAT ALLOWS US TO SAFELY AND FREELY ENJOY FAN CONTENT.

if you can’t donate, spreading the word, congratulating ao3 on the nomination, and thanking the ao3 volunteers for their hard work would also be lovely!!

SUPPORT THEM YOU FOOLIGANS

Let’s take a look at Wild Hyacinth (Dichelostemma capitatum).

Found in the Amaryllis Family (Amaryllidaceae) this common perennial herb is enjoyed by Tiger Swallowtail butterflies and is found blooming in Costal Sage and Grasslands from February through May.

Fun fact: Native Americans and early settlers used to eat the tasty little corms referring to these as grass nuts.

Are Persephone and Hades the type to cuddle after sex?

Yes. Aftercare is written into literally every scene I have with them.

Please, don't cast anyone from the cast of StarWars into Pawns of Olympus D> I saw a post saying they think you based Hades' appearance on the actor playing Kylo Ren and it almost gave me an attack. Please keep SW people away from your Greek Mythology mast

I don’t think you’ll have to worry.

First off, I thought that was a particularly funny post because I wrote the description of Hades in my books before Adam Driver was a known actor.

Second, and I’ve said this before, I don’t have any authoritative final say over casting, ultimately, but I’m pretty confident that a brand new show can’t afford the salary of anyone who was in Star Wars.

Think Game of Thrones… there was one actor who was relatively well known to anchor and carry the first season (Sean Bean). All the actors who are now household names are known because they came up through the popularity of that show. Sophie Turner, Kit Harrington, Jason Momoa, Maisie Williams, Emmelia Clarke… their current fame and continuing careers are largely resultant of Game of Thrones.

I imagine that Pawns of Olympus will be the same way.

I struggle with how I’m supposed to feel about Demeter. Like, do I hate her? Feel bad for her? Want to slide her about 500 Xanax and a self help book?

I love her.

I mean, she clearly needs a tranq dart straight to the neck most of the time, but I think you’ll be very happy with the character growth she’s undergone by the time The Good Counselor wraps up.
