The Tiny Ladder
There is a tiny ladder outside our door right this second. Like a substantial step-stool almost. I have no idea what I would do with a ladder that tiny, but really, it is all I can do to not steal it and just carry it around with me, in case there's any circumstance in which I need to be just a hair taller.

I am Becoming a Militant Parkist and Other Random Things
1. I think this is such a good post, trying to get at why "1952 Vincent Black Lightning" is such a good song. He thinks hard and in interesting ways about whether we can really know ourselves. It's a great read. And then? The first and, when I read this, only comment starts out, "No, you're wrong." If that doesn't about sum up blogging, I don't know what does.
2. Speaking of "No, you're wrong," I think this is a genius post and gets at the heart of a lot of things, but I think the central...

So, After a Week…
Has it really only been a week? And yet somehow it's already been a week?
You'll remember that my goal is to sell 333 books.
After a week, I've sold 50 book books and 16 Kindle books. For better or for worse, I think I have marketed the crap out of the book to everyone I know. So, if I'm going to reach my goal, I have to find some way of reaching people I don't know.
Ha, so I hope some stuff comes together! Or that the 50 people who bought it read it and are like "I need 6 copies to give to my f...
Hope
I read this line at Jo's and it brought me up short–"But saying there's work to be done is another way of saying there is hope."
That's just what I needed to hear, though I didn't know it.

Can Someone Familiar with the Music Industry Explain This to Me?
Why do they turn off embedding on YouTube videos? Do they not understand how YouTube videos work? I mean, do they not get that the video is not being copied, but basically just broadcast? Do they not understand that, when the video does not work where it is, 95% of the time, I just move on? Thus missing the little free commercial for their shit?
It's weird.
Every time I see it, I think "Here's some folks who don't know how the internet works."

It's Like We're Psychic Here at Tiny Cat Pants
Why, it was just the other day in the comments to this post that Emjaybee and Jo were really digging at the ties between the obesity panic and the… I guess for the sake of parallelism… the birthing panic.
And what do we have in The Tennessean today?
Panic about how fat women are ruining their unborn babies' lives with their fatty fat fat.
Well, it's science, so you can't argue with it. Fat women have caused us all to be fat.
And yet… where did all these fat women come from to make the fat babies ...
Hey, I've Been Raving About This Song
And you can listen to it here. And, if you do, I promise to never talk about it again. Well, except one more time.

People Who Viewed This Also Viewed…
According to Amazon.com right now, people who viewed my book also viewed an adventure bag, two different knives, and the books Surviving a Disaster, Monster Hunter International, and Phil Bredesen's Fresh Medicine. I really, really hope that was all the same person doing that viewing.
And that one day, I will meet that person.

Woo Hoo! September
The nice thing about September is that, even if it's going to get back above 90, the earth has changed relations with the sun enough that it never feels like it can get at you with the same intensity.
And it can't keep the cool promise of fall from the early morning breeze.

Dogs
Except for the ability to curdle milk with her farts, I aspire to be like my dog, just that open to whatever the fuck the day might bring and able to nap so soundly when it doesn't bring anything.
