Description of a mad man
Indumadhana Mullik. He was engineer, medical practitioner and scientist. Of course he was practicing as a medical man. And a great scholar. Great scholar, he, he used to study; he passed in engineering examination, medical examination and ordinary M.A., Ph.D., like that. Later on he became so mad, and naked he was running on the street, in front of my father-in-law’s house. So what was his value? The same man, being so much educated in so many… But when he became mad, who cares for him? So this… Anyone who is under the influence of this material energy is like that. Although he is part and parcel of God, he is mad.
pisaci paile yena mati-cchanna haya
maya-grasta jivera se dasau

[When a living entity is conditioned by material nature, he is exactly like a person haunted by a ghost.]
As soon as a man becomes mad, then he is finished. And whatever he’ll speak, ah, that is all madness. It is…, there is no importance. This is mad. Basic principle is mad.

Napoleon, Hitler, Gandhi, no solution
These rascals do not know they are bound up, hands and legs, by the laws of nature, and they are making solution, problem. Just like this geographer is making solution and all of a sudden will die. And then another rascal will come into that place to make solution. The problem will remain, and they will come and go. They will come and go. Napoleon came for solution, Hitler came for solution, Gandhi came for solution, but when Napoleon was offered a horse’s urine instead of water, he could not make any solution. When Gandhi was fired to death, he could not make a solution. And they were leaders for solution. What they can do? Every one of them is under strict laws of nature. As nature will do, they will have to submit. And what they will make? They are not independent. Nobody knows where is Hitler. Such a big man, he hid or he killed himself, something done, but nobody knows.

Gandhi on Krsna
That is the defect of Gandhi’s movement. He is supposed to be reading Bhagavad-gita, but he has never said, recommended, Krsna worship. That is the defect of his education. Rather, he denied the existence of Krsna: “I don’t believe if any person as Krsna ever lived.”

An excerpt from essay titled “Who and where is God?”, published in Harijan on June 22, 1947: “Inasmuch as God is omnipresent, He dwells within every human being and all may, therefore, be said to be incarnations of Him. But this leads us nowhere. Rama, Krishna, etc., are called incarnations of God because we attribute divine qualities to them. In truth they are creations of man’s imagination.”

Americans: become godly, fight Communists and other demons
Especially this communist movement is very, very dangerous — to make a big animals. They are already animals, and this movement is making big animals. So I am speaking to America because America is a little serious against this communistic movement. And it can be counteracted because the process is current since a very, very long time. Deva asura, devasura, the fight between the demigods and the demons. So the same fight is there in different name, “Communists and the capitalists.” But the capitalists are also eighty percent, ninety percent demons. Yes. Because they do not know the science of God. That is demonic principle. So there is good chance in your country to make them, or they rectify their demonic principles. And then they will be very strongly able to fight with the other demons.

Marriage advice
In this Krsna consciousness society we have got this program that if some boy or girl wants to get married, I help. So this marriage ceremony is today arranged on that principle. But the present bride and bridegroom must know it certainly that this marriage is not for sense gratification. This marriage is for purification of life. So there is no question of divorce. There is no question of separation. So don’t get into married life if you have got such propensity. Our first principle is to become Krsna conscious, and other things, secondary. Putrarthe kriyate bharya. If you can produce nice children, Krsna conscious children, it will, you will do greatest service to the human society. Because the human society is producing children like cats and dogs, the whole human society is in trouble.

There is no adjustment
Better to leave this place as soon as possible. Not to come again. That should be our serious attention. The other day the radio man was asking, “Swamiji, how to adjust?” And “There is no adjustment. You have to go out of the scene. There is no adjustment.” So he was not very happy. If I would have bluffed him, “Oh, you do this, you do that, you do this humanitarian work, you spread[?] education and give foodstuff.” No! There is no adjustment. The only adjustment is quit this place. That is the function of this human form of life. You can get out of this show by Krsna consciousness. Krsna says that this is the abode of miseries and that also temporary. Because you can accept any miserable life. That is the spell of maya. Just like this dog life. If somebody asked me, “Would you like to be a dog? I can make you,” shall I agree? Why not? Because I know that’s miserable life. But the dog is satisfied. By becoming a purchased slave, very much satisfied. He has no independence, always chained and always servant, eternal servant of a particular man. He can do any harmful thing by the order of the master, he’s so faithful. But still, his life is miserable, because he’s dog. But he is satisfied. He thinks that “Oh, it is a very nice life.” This is called covering power of maya, illusion. Anyone in the most miserable condition of life, he’ll think, “Oh, I am very happy.” Ask him, “How are you?” “Oh, very nice. Very nice.” So there is no adjustment. A Krsna conscious person should… He knows that here, only adjustment is to live in Krsna consciousness.

The ship for Kali-yuga
The Age of Kali is very dangerous for the human being. Human life is simply meant for self-realization, but due to this dangerous age, men have completely forgotten the aim of life. In this age, the life span will gradually decrease. People will gradually lose their memory, finer sentiments, strength, and better qualities. A list of the anomalies for this age is given in the Twelfth Canto of this work. And so this age is very difficult for those who want to utilize this life for self-realization. The people are so busy with sense gratification that they completely forget about self-realization. Out of madness they frankly say that there is no need for self-realization because they do not realize that this brief life is but a moment on our great journey towards self-realization. The whole system of education is geared to sense gratification, and if a learned man thinks it over, he sees that the children of this age are being intentionally sent to the slaughterhouses of so-called education. Learned men, therefore, must be cautious of this age, and if they at all want to cross over the dangerous ocean of Kali, they must follow the footsteps of the sages of Naimisaranya and accept Sri Suta Gosvami or his bona fide representative as the captain of the ship. The ship is the message of Lord Sri Krsna in the shape of Bhagavad-gita or the Srimad-Bhagavatam.

Better to leave this place as soon as possible
Prabhupada: They kill the grandfather and have a feast, the cannibals. Yes. That is a great sport, that the grandsons will kill the grandfather and have a feast on his body by toasting.(?) Yes. The same idea is being preached by the communists. They want that all old man of the society, they should be killed. That is one of the theories put forward by the communists. Because they are not producing anything. So just imagine, these things will come gradually. So better to leave this place as soon as possible.

Technological advancement is not civilization
Prabhupada: That is not civilization. Technological advancement is not civilization. It is the advancement of ugra knowledge. Real civilization is to advance in Brahman knowledge. If there are brahmanas, that is advancement. This is not advancement because they do not know what is advancement.

The Krishna consciousness movement is scientific
This is Krishna consciousness movement. It is very scientific movement, authoritative movement. So not only it is authoritative, it is accepted by millions and thousands. At least in India there are many. And in the Western countries also, they are also accepting because it is scientific. They are not fools and rascals.
