There’s no better time to talk about rollerblading than right after a Saturday session.

Danny Malm, Levi Sebastian, and Noah Neuber are three wonderful human beings who rollerblade and live in Northern California. After a rousing afternoon of doing sweet tricks at a skate park, I invited them over to hang out in the Rock Town Garage and talk blading, growing up Catholic, and other things.

Previously, he was a pro rollerblader who helped shape the sport from its early days. We talk about skitching cars around the cul-de-sac, social openings, and, of course, what’s awesome, and what sucks, about rollerblading.

#85: Challe Walle

The greatest thing about rollerblading is the people you’ll meet while doing it. This is one of those examples.

Charles Solano — sometimes called Challe Walle, othertimes called the Exotic Animal — is a Bay Area blade scene staple known for, among other things, just being his damn self. We talk about Skynet, classism in blading, “urban” skaters, and more (inside the new Rock Town garage).

BFree recently moved back to Oakland from San Francisco, and, as of this recording, was 34 days into a long-term blading binge. Flanked by Challe Walle and Augstin, we talk about blading love, getting out and doing it every day, and so much more.

It’s swapcast time!

Steven Johns is a long-time SoCal staple in skating, tattooing, and general blade culture. He’s started his own podcast, called The TruSpin Podcast, so we talk about that, as well as hear from him trying to steer me away from talking about modern politics. And other fun topics.

Or you can listen to Steven’s version of our swapcast…
