How Loss Can Initiate You
I’ve experienced a lot of loss this year. Most of the loss has come as my own choice, which in some ways makes it even harder. I can’t even fall back on feelings of victimhood because I’ve brought all this loss upon myself, not because I’m a masochist, but because I’m being called to align with the integrity of my Inner Pilot Light in radical ways. It’s hard and scary and wildly uncomfortable. And it hurts. My heart feels heavy as big changes have uprooted me. I’ve had to really lean into my spiritual practice to stay grounded, avoid the downward spiral into fear, find peace with uncertainty, and allow loss to grow my soul, rather than shrink it.

How To Call In A Cheetah - Part 2
In Part 1 of this blog, I told the story of my cheetah encounter during the Africa STAR retreat with Martha Beck at Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa. What I hadn’t realized at the time, because we weren’t being intentional about it, is that those of us in the Land Rover who were blessed to have our sacred moment with the cheetah had been doing exactly what Martha teaches about how to bring into being what you desire.

Have You Found Your Calling?
When you first popped out of your mommy, your soul came into this world with a plan for what you're here to learn, experience, teach, and heal.
Your life has a purpose. There's a calling every one of us is meant to fulfill—and only you can answer that call.

How To Call In A Cheetah - Part 1
Before I left to go on Safari at Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa as part of Martha Beck’s African STAR retreat, I kept joking about mystical cheetahs. Every time I’m with Martha, magic happens, so I was curious what mysteries would unfold in Africa. Would the cheetahs levitate? Would I have a run in with a psychic cheetah? Would a cheetah start speaking to me in tongues? It wasn’t just me who was envisioning cheetahs before the safari started. Anne Davin, who was joining me on safari, also kept seeing visions of cheetahs.

Losing My Safari Virginity
Martha Beck’s African STAR retreat at Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa begins with silence in the back of the Land Rover. The air is thick with a vibration so palpable it moves warm honey through my legs and up into my chest. Martha is entraining us all from the very beginning, and it works. We drop right in, and the animals can sense it. The giraffe is right there, so close we can hear her breathing. I am keenly aware that every giraffe I have ever experienced pales in comparison to this one. She is free to come and go as she pleases. She takes care of herself and doesn’t depend on feeders to nourish her. She is not here for our pleasure; she is just here, being her wild true nature, as all of us are yearning to be.

A Whole New Kind Of Independence Day
Today is the 4th of July, and many of us are going to picnics, watching fireworks, boating, hanging out with friends and family, and otherwise getting jiggy to celebrate our country’s birthday as an independent country.
But what about your personal independence day?

The Initiated Healer
You were called at a very young age. You were less than ten when you discovered that the life of another being mattered. Maybe you rescued lizards when the boys were pulling off their tails. Maybe spiders were your friends. Maybe you were the squirrel girl. But your natural healing tendencies weren’t cherished, not in our culture.

Are You Committed To Your Soul's Integrity?
As part of my job, I am frequently asked to endorse books, products, and programs that might sell better if I give them my stamp of approval. I’m also asked to decide whether to get involved in media that will draw attention to what I’m selling in my own business. It would be so easy to just say “Yes” to everything. It would please others and gain me approval. Doing so would sell more books and attract more attention to the programs I lead (like my latest program for health care providers here).

"To Do" Or Not "To Do"
I recently attended an event with a coach who challenged us to stop dreaming so much and start DOING something about our dreams. He likened our big dreams to an acorn that had the potential to become an oak tree, and in scenario after scenario, he gave us examples about how “law of attraction” based inaction could thwart the acorn’s potential to become the oak tree. Sure, we could visualize the acorn as an oak tree. We could affirm the oak tree’s potential. We could even adopt a gluten-free diet and drink more green juice, in hopes that our efforts will help the oak tree grow. But unless we plant the acorn in fertile soil, nurture it with water, sunlight, and patience, that acorn is never going to realize its potential.

How To Stay Sane & Sustain In The Wake Of A Spiritual Awakening
In January, I shared with you my personal story of a mystical experience that blew open my cognitive mind and left me reeling. It is a little over four months since that day, January 6, so I’ve had more time to integrate the experience. After revealing what I did on Facebook and on my blog, I’ve been fielding a lot of questions from readers who have had similar spiritual experiences, so I decided to honor this with some spiritual Q&A based on some of the questions that have come in via email and Facebook.
