10 Questions Pregnant Women Should Ask Before Giving Birth

pregnant

As an OB/GYN, I know pregnant women have a boatload of questions as their due date approaches. But so often, they fail to plan ahead and get their questions asked until they're huffing and puffing in labor. And trust me. This is NOT the best time.

How To Love Unconditionally & Still Stay Sane

love unconditionally

After two painful divorces, I learned several valuable lessons about love and marriage that I was sharing with a friend awhile back. You may be reluctant to take relationship advice from someone who's on her third marriage, so take what I've learned with a grain of salt. But I wish someone had taught me these lessons years ago.

The Love Letter You've Yearned For Your Whole Life

valentine's day

Lissa's Note: Preparing in advance, I wrote a post for Valentine's Day a while back - 11 Ways To Be Your Own Valentine. But the day before Valentine's Day dawned, a little voice inside of me started whispering, "I want to write the Valentine's Day post." So this post is not written by me. It's written by your Inner Pilot Light - from you, to you. Enjoy, my love.

Dear beautiful, radiant, sparkly, effervescent YOU,

11 Ways To Be Your Own Valentine

I used to fantasize about Valentine's Day, dreaming up lavish scenes of decadent romance that my lovers would plan.  Plane trips to Paris. Kissing from the top of the Eiffel Tower.  Picnics on the beach with real china and candles and a bonfire to boot. Buggy rides in Central Park.

You know, the stuff they do in romantic comedies.

My poor boyfriends didn't stand a chance.

Are You A Good Friend?

Best Friends at the Beach

Since I became clear on my mission in 2008 and launched Owning Pink in 2009, I've worked my ass off to bring my vision to being. And it's working!  Patients are transforming their lives, healers are waking up and amplifying the collective message with me, and the seeds of change for how health care could be delivered and received have been planted.  Traffic to my blog about being healthy in all aspects of your life is ramping up. I got to talk about my radical new wellness model at TEDxWomen in San Francisco. I'll be rocking the stage with my message with Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Doreen Virtue, Cheryl Richardson, and other transformational catalysts at I Can Do It! IGNITE - San Jose in March. And my book Mind Over Medicine will be published by Hay House in 2013.

You Can't Quit Your Calling

Lissa Rankin

Those of you who know my story know the on-again-off-again love affair I have had with medicine (as I wrote about here). Time and time again, I have tried to stray, quit my job, turned my back on the white coat. But again and again, it boils down to one thing. This is my calling, and you can quit your job, but you can't quit your calling. It beckons like a siren song until you finally surrender to it.

What Would You Do With A Book Written By "God?"

Lissa Rankin

As I finish up my next book Mind Over Medicine: Scientific Proof You Can Heal Yourself, I've been asking all my bestselling authors to share their secrets to how their books got on the New York Times bestseller list. They all told me the same thing.

"I just let God write it."

As it turns out, God has more ins with the people at the New York Times than Oprah.

But how does that work? How do you let God write your book for you?

Is It Safe To Shine Your Light?

Lissa Rankin

I was having a conversation with my BFF Tricia Barrett recently, and I found myself asking this question, "Can you shine your light and be pure in your integrity and still experience love and belonging?"

I know it's a strange question. But I've identified a big limiting belief in my life, so I spent the past day exploring it.
