The Butler Didn't Do It now available

w00t!!

Banquet House, Hampton Court photo Thanks to the wonderful John Betancourt of Wildside Press, my award-nominated short story, The Butler Didn't Do It, is now available via the iBook store for the whopping sum of $.99! The story was originally published in Chesapeake Crimes 1 and garnered an Agatha Award Nomination in 2004 for Best Short Story.

If you've got an iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone – stop by the store and buy it. I think it's a fun story. :)

In other news: still writing BLOOD SACRIFICE. More later.

Don't forget...

Things of Random Miscellany

Author buddy Jaye Wells speaks in her recent post about the shame in not blogging regularly. I can only hang my head and agree with her. I *meant* to blog last week. I really, really did. But then there was work, and writing and cat acquisition and sinus migraines, and well…yeah, you get the picture. Next thing I knew, it was already a week later.

So, here I am with no excuses, just a bunch of random items that I found fun, amusing, awesome or just worthy of a look.

Best Rolling Stone cover...

Welcome, Kit Marlowe

This is a new addition to the Lima household, previously containing only moi.

From Kit Marlowe

Kit Marlowe came via Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, a local (DC, MD, VA) rescue agency. I found Kit (then named Darius) via Petfinder.com. He is a joy! Mellow, quiet, with a loving demeanor, Kit arrived Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and immediately made himself at home. Within a few minutes, he was up on the couch next to me while I worked on the laptop.

I think he's going to like it here. :)

Best news all week!! Prop 8 overturned!

After a frustrating week of fighting with the Marriott Hotel and Marina about an overcharge of $796.58, this news made me squeal with joy.

Now, it will go to the Supremes and perhaps the US will join much of the rest of the 1st world nations.

History in the making, people. Real history. I'm glad this is happening in my lifetime.

Post Con wrap up…or the week in pictures

There's a weird sadness to life after any great genre con, whether a smaller more pro-oriented con like World Fantasy, or a fancon like Malice Domestic, or even the giantness of Comic-Con. It's going back to the mundane, returning to a world where not everyone around you is of the tribe. Sad, but necessary in order to function in the "real world". (I'll save discussion on which is real for another time when my brain isn't so fried!)

So without further ado, I present to you the highlights...

How is it over already?

Wow. This week FLEW by!

We spent a lot of time at Comic-Con toodling through the exhibit hall (a.k.a. trade show), either looking for items or just looking at stuff.

More celebrity sightings:

– Malcolm McDowell (scored a great signed Clockwork Orange poster)

– Ron Glass

– Ron Perlman

– Danny Devito

– Guillermo Del Toro

– More Stan Lee

Had a LOVELY convo with Mark Sheppard, plus got 2 autographed pics and a pic of him with me. (on sis's camera, will need to get it from her).

My panel and signings ...
