Male Romance Writers Got Game by JoAnne Kenrick

Male Romance Writers Got Game by JoAnne Kenrick

I know many folks say there are a lot of male romance authors out there hiding under a female pen name. We know there has been a few, but, well, I’m hard pushed to think there are a huge number of them hiding out in a Tootsie kinda way. I struggle see why that would be, because they’d be denying themselves and their readers a most wonderful truth — I mean, have you ever read a romance written by a man? I have. And I’ve got to admit, I have found a distinct difference in the style. Especially when it comes to the ‘bedroom’ scenes. When things heat up, they cut straight to the point. No frills. No redundant descriptions. The sex is more realistic. The connection less fanciful. Basically, it’s more down to earth and relatable. At least, that’s what I’ve found in the few books I’ve read by male romance writers. And I’ve a huge appreciation for that style of writing. I prefer it. So if you are listening, Mr. Romance Writer, please keep writing….and don’t be shy. We don’t bite. Mostly. So come out of the closet and let us all know who you are!

Oh, don’t be fooled. Those men can kick up a romance just as good maybe better than the best of ‘em, I’m telling you! The heroines are no less compassionate or the heros any more butch. Good writing is good writing, no matter the sex of the author.

And with that said, here are some of my favorite recent reads….which happen to have been written (or co-written) by men. If you’ve got any suggestions, please do post in the comments. This compulsive ebook buyer/reader would love to hear them as I’m sure others would, too. Also…have you ever read a book and wondered if it had been written by a man? If so, what got you thinking this?

Lover Unexpected

Lover Unexpected

by Brindle Chase

Lisa Faulkner’s love life has become a casualty. Working hard climbing the corporate ladder, she longs to find a successful guy and a happily ever after. But all work and no play makes Lisa a very dull girl. Her best friend Nikki has a solution—a blind date to a charity masquerade ball. May as well…With no idea who her mystery man might be, Lisa can only wait for her date to find her. When her masked partner appears, he literally sweeps her off her feet and onto the dance floor. Though she can’t place him, there’s something familiar about the dashing man…Lisa’s a sensible girl, but within moments her sexy partner leads her away and crashes through her inhibitions. His commanding, sexy charm destroys her good-girl ideals and she succumbs to his hunger. The sex is explosive, and Lisa believes she may have found what she’s looking for.

If only her new lover was the man she was supposed to meet that night…

ABOUT Brindle: The world is a lonely place without romance. It took me too many years to figure that out, but now that I have, I hope to infect others with its splendor. I’ve always loved the paranormal — vampires, demons, angels, were-creatures and more. I also love a spicy tale and writing stories that are both has been the greatest adventure — beyond parenthood and marriage — that I have ever embarked upon. Sharing it with you makes it all the greater. Come visit me at www.forlorn-hope.net

Suite 69 Suite 69
by S.L. Carpenter & Sahara Kelly
Redefining room service…The Zephyre Corporation’s annual convention may be designed to let colleagues kick back in the Florida sun, but Riley McGuire doesn’t plan to let anything interfere with her chance to shine for corporate management. Not even the devastatingly sexy guy playing air guitar—naked—in her hotel suite.Oliver Wilson expected to share a deluxe suite with what he assumed was an amiable Irish-American beer drinker, not an acid-tongued Boston beauty who can’t hold her liquor.

Their agreement to muddle through is shot to hell by a tug of attraction that, in the convention’s decadent atmosphere, grows too strong to resist. Oliver discovers there’s more going on under Riley’s suits than good marketing ideas. And Oliver’s gentlemanly teasing gets under Riley’s skin…in a sexy way.

Behind closed doors, lust explodes between the sheets. But is a pair of vibrating panties a temporary pleasure, or the start of something that doesn’t require batteries?

Product Warnings

Please check with your hotel concierge to ask if the handsome naked man playing air guitar comes with the room. There may be an extra surcharge not covered under federal business reimbursement regulations. Be sure to tip the bellboy.

The Playground (1 Night Stand, #79)
The Playground

by Sascha Illyvich

Jet setter and playboy Devon has a BDSM dark side he wants to make reality, only catch is the girl who would serve him perfectly left him years ago and is afraid of what living with him means. He’d given up all hope until he’d spotted Shelly waiting tables in the casino he happened to be sitting in. Using the 1NightStand service to find her, set her up in a park, have her chained/bound to playground equipment with only a blindfold on. Can his Dominance teach her the meaning of true love?

ABOUT Sascha: I started writing twelve years ago. My erotic romances have been listed under the Night Owl Romance and Road to Romance’s Recommended read list, as well nominated for a CAPA by The Romance Studio

I host the Unnamed Romance Show on Radio Dentata and continue to write for Sizzler Editions and Total E-bound. Readers can find my work, plus free reads at http://saschaillyvichauthor.com

A Thank You From the Heart

Memorial Day weekend is a time to remember and celebrate those that serve. I can’t think of a better way to do that then to send an ecard thank you to all the soldiers out there that have been hurt in the line of duty through the WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT.

It is a totally free and awesome thing to do. Send your own card right here:
