This Week in My World
I’m behind schedule in everything! It just makes everything that much more exciting, you know? But I did do a few things – some more successfully than others.
RomantiCon is almost here and I’m starting to freak out over all that I have not done.
I finally saw Iron Man 3. I wasn’t blown away. The panic attack thing didn’t really feel right to me. I think maybe if they had him revert to his alcoholic tendencies it might have worked better for the character and the movie.
Got some more work done on my “sex and sports” story. I am a very slow writer so this is going to be news for weeks and weeks still to come.
I got the cover for Sinfully Yours. Once I have a release date, I‘ll do the big cover reveal.
I also have a cover for the free read I’ll be giving away on my birthday (10/20)! It was beautifully designed by the uber-talented Noelle Pierce and I’ll be debuting that after I get back from RomantiCon!
While I was downtown yesterday getting my hair done, I decided I needed to see the giant duck that has been floating around Pittsburgh. Only, I couldn’t find the fucker. A forty-foot duck and I couldn’t find him. Apparently he can only been seen from a specific location that I didn’t feel like walking to. Perhaps I’ll make another attempt in the future, but probably not. Still, I couldn’t find a HUGE duck. I feel like I’ve failed some deep, fundamental way.
How was your week?

Mr. Fix It by Emily Cale
Here is a taste of Emily Cale’s latest release, Mr. Fix It. You should buy it immediately.
***
Is there anything sexier than a man who can work magic with his hands? Get your minds out of the gutter, at lease for a couple minutes. I’m not talking about in the bedroom (for now). Instead, I’m talking about the kind of guy who knows how to fix stuff.
Not that I am not a do-it-yourself kind of gal, but I would rather sit back and watch while someone else does that work. Preferably a hunk who finds it necessary to take his shirt off while he is working. Six pack abs, firm chest and biceps that are begging to be touched…
Oh, right, back to the blog post. I don’t think I am alone in saying that there is something to the idea of having a man walk in with a hammer and solve some great catastrophe. Maybe it has something to do with the idea of the guy being a knight in shining armor. He is perfectly capable of saving the day and solving all of my problems.
That was the inspiration behind my newest release, Mr. Fix It. My poor heroine wants to manage a project herself, but gets in over her head (hands up if you can relate!). Lucky for her, the gorgeous next door neighbor is happy to help her out in more ways than one.
Mr. Fix It by Emily Cale
Jenni’s home improvement plans have turned into a disaster. The only bright spot in her day is watching her handyman neighbor Rick as he helps out around the neighborhood. Jenni has need of his capable hands in more ways than one, but she refuses to become just another notch on his toolbox.
Rick is entranced by his standoffish neighbor. He has no time for the neighborhood women who throw themselves at him, but he intends to get into Jenni’s house, bed and heart if it’s the last thing he does.

Bracing against the wind, Jenni took a few steps forward, sat down on the stairs and watched as her dog barked at the tree. “Keep it up. You’ll probably have better luck than I have today.” She hung her head. Now she needed to decide whether to keep trying to make her project work or cut her losses and put the doors she’d gotten off back on. At the moment, neither option sounded particularly appealing. The only thing she absolutely had to do was clean the floor. The rest could wait until she’d had time to drink a few glasses of pinot grigio and enjoy some trashy reality television. Nothing like a few hours focused on someone else’s life to make her forget about the troubles in her own.
“Problems?”
Jenni didn’t need to look up to recognize the deep voice of her neighbor, but popped her head up to confirm her suspicions. It’d be rude not to at least look at the person talking to her. At least that was what she told herself. It certainly couldn’t be because she liked gazing at his tanned skin and sun-bleached hair.
Rick Maas leaned over the fence between their properties. Her cheeks felt hot as she tried to think of a witty reply. “Nothing that can’t be fixed.” Maybe not by me, but by someone. She’d kept an eye on him from the day he’d moved in three months ago. Scratch that. She’d had both eyes glued to his gorgeous body whenever she got the chance. He was a perfect specimen of the male form. Wavy hair, a strong chin and a smile that could turn her knees to jelly. A few times he’d caught her staring at him while he worked on his motorcycle in the driveway. She’d tried to pretend she was studying the garden or checking out a bird in a tree, but she doubted he’d been fooled by her ruse. She couldn’t help it though. The minute he took off his shirt, her brain turned to mush and her libido took over.
“Anything I can help you with?” That was a loaded question. Jenni could think of a hundred things she’d like his help with, but not a single one was home improvement related. Though a few of them risked damaging her bed frame. She supposed he could put that back together if they broke it. After they were done, of course.
She bit her tongue. His offer was completely innocent and she knew it. Rick helped many of the neighbors with little tasks around their homes. For the most part, his assistance went to older individuals struggling to keep up with seasonal maintenance, but many of the single women—and a few of the married ones—took him up on his offers as well. A little too often for Jenni’s taste. How many things could possibly go wrong in one house? She almost laughed at the thought. Maybe she should take a better look around her kitchen before she judged too harshly. Still, she swore a few of the ladies broke things for the sole purpose of having Rick over. They probably made him pitchers of lemonade and homemade chocolate chip cookies too. How clichéd. She hated them for it. Partly because she couldn’t even make chocolate chip cookies, let alone serve them hot out of the oven for the hunk-next-door.

Sex God Sunday
Fall is here and my most favorite holiday, Halloween, is on it’s way! Here is a snippet from my Samhain story, The Secrets of Dreams.
Stephanie laughed as the current group of zombies, pirates and action heroes on her doorstep collected their treats in large, reflective orange bags. The moment the last candy bar was dropped, the children ran down her front steps, laughing wildly as they charged the next house on the block.
With an amused shake of her head, she closed the door behind them and then flopped back down on the couch. The bowl of chocolates remained on the table by the door, awaiting the next crop of ghastly and glamorous visitors. Soon, the little ones would be off to bed and all those leftover treats would somehow find their way into her stomach over the next few days. Stephanie loved Halloween, it was her most favorite holiday, but it was seriously hazardous to her hips.
She glanced at the clock on her mantel and was surprised to discover how late it was. It was almost time for her to shut off the porch light, lock the door and begin her solitary celebration. Her altar waited upstairs, adorned with candles and spices and incense, all ready for her to begin her annual Samhain rites.
Her eyes touched on the black grimoire sitting on top of her coffee table and a tingling shiver ran down her spine.

This Week In My World
I have had a very quiet week, but not a bad one.
I’ve been pretty sporadic with the Insanity workout, I still don’t feel quite 100% well from my illness last week, but I do what I can
I got the new Stephen King book, Doctor Sleep, and I am LOVING it. But I’m reading it too fast. I’ll be done with it tomorrow probably. That’s way too soon. I want it to go on and on
Jocelyn Dex put together a sexy giveaway for the people that buy our LUST DEMONS anthology at the RomantiCon book signing
I did some more work on my “sex and sports” story. It’s coming along nicely
I totally, completely, and utterly took today off – something I very rarely do. I read, drank, tea, napped. It was awesome.

Hussy by Selena Kitt
Selena Kitt is here today sharing an excerpt from her latest release, Hussy.
***
HUSSY BLURB
The Eskimos may have over a hundred words for snow, but that doesn’t even come close to how many words the English language has for “slut”—and Lindsey has been called them all. “Hussy” is Lindsey’s personal favorite, given to her by her own grandmother, who likes to pat her on the hand and whisper, “Don’t worry, dear—a hussy is just a woman with the morals of a man.”
But Lindsey’s not ashamed of her reputation. She knows she’s earned it—and she’s proud of it. After all, you only live once, right? In fact, she goes out of her way to make it known to every guy she comes in contact with, she’s available for the taking—the rougher, the better.
That is until Lindsey meets Lieutenant Zachary Davis, a man who refuses to treat her like the trash she believes she really is.
But can Lindsey change her impulsive ways and learn to value herself the way the Zach does?
Warnings: This title contains graphic language and extreme sexual situations as well as a girl with a slutty attitude bigger than Texas covering a haunted past, and a sweet, hot man in uniform dead set on rescuing her from herself.
Note to Readers: This novel was previously released as “Falling Down.”

EXCERPT
“You’re a very pretty girl.”
She shrugged. “Yeah? So?”
He adjusted his white hat, still meeting her eyes. “So you don’t have to do that to get attention.”
Lindsey frowned, snapping her legs together and sitting straight up. “Do what?”
“You know what.”
“What are you all dressed up for—a parade or something?” Lindsey squinted at him and saw he was wearing a name tag: Lieutenant Zachary Davis.
“I’m a recruiter.”
“For what?” Lindsey snorted, looking him up and down. Even the man’s shoes were white! “The Pillsbury Dough Boy?!”
He raised an eyebrow in her direction. “The U.S. Navy.”
“So you’re… what… a sailor?”
“On a nuclear submarine, but yes.” He cocked his head at her. “Do you have any interest in the Navy?”
She rolled her eyes. “Only if we’re at war.”
“We are.”
“Yeah, well… not here we’re not.”
“So what are you interested in…Lindsey?”
He’d obviously been paying attention. She leaned forward, putting her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands. “Sex… Zach.”
“Is that all?”
“No…” She glanced over at the secretary, who was rifling through papers at her desk, but clearly listening to them. “I also like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.”
