40 March in Holyoke
About 40 people marched in Holyoke in a snow storm on December 20. They were protesting the failure of state and federal politicians to pass laws that probably could have saved the life of Jonas Nuñez, a fifteen year old who was murdered with a gun on December 12 in Holyoke. Libby Hernandez is a member of the Holyoke city council. She organized the march. Indigo Girls Northampton Concert is June 25, 2021
The Indigo Girls will perform June 25, 2021 at the Pines Theater in Northampton. The Indigo Girls have sold more than 14 million albums and won a Grammy award. The Indigo Girls are Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, plus a changing lineup of musicians on their records and at some of their concerts. Some tours are just Ray and Saliers. Eleven at Deerfield Rally
The CEO of Dollar General Corporation made $12 million last year. He pays his workers an average of $9.76 an hour. In Deerfield, Massachusetts on December 12, eleven people attended a rally to stop a proposed Dollar General store in Deerfield. Deerfield borders Greenfield. Julie Cavacco was at the rally. On December 15 she told the Valley Post the rally was organized because the new store would cause floods in the surrounding area. Cavacco is a librarian at Deerfield's public library.

Dozens at Rally
Dozens of people attended a union rally in Northampton on December 4. We represent all types of employees: teachers and other licensed educators such as nurses, educational support professionals, clerical workers, some administrators, cafeteria workers, custodians and bus drivers, Heather Brown told the Valley Post on December 7.
